    I've been trying to decide for about 6 months on what what road bike to buy. It was between the domane sl5, emonda sl5, and the canyon endurace. I finally decided yesterday to get the domane thanks to your videos. I'm picking it up on 5 April. I really wanted the red one, but the only available anywhere in my size was the white one. Either way, I'm still pretty excited about it.

      Just got mine sl7 etap this week and blown away. I was lucky to have found it. Ride is incredible so far. Only thing, it is not light and has me wondering a bit. One of my goals with the new bike was to keep up with faster riders (old guy geeks). Also contemplating the 32 mm tire width strategy before I go tubeless.

      @@hms350 You'll definitely be able to keep up if your conditioning is up to par. That is one awesome bike you picked up. The best bang for the buck going forward for you will be working on your strength to body weight ratio and conditioning. Juan has a nice video on why he uses a power meter to train that is really on point.

    Thank you for your videos! Because of you I decided on the 2021 Domane SL6 (Black on Black!). I was initially planning to get the Checkpoint but after watching your videos I realized the Domane is exactly what I’m looking for!!! And also thanks to you, I figured out how to use the Trek site to locate a bike quickly and not wait. The bike was the last one in the store - my size and the color I wanted. It is a few hours away, but luckily I had a friend that lived in that area that was able to pay for it in the store for me and it’s being shipped to my local Trek store for assembly. Thanks so much!! I can’t wait to ride my new Domane!

    Hey john, enjoying your videos,
    I got the Garmin radar rear light and computer with front light installed in the last couple of weeks, best bit of gear ever to put on a bike, always know what is behind me which allows me to totally relax when I am riding especially when making turns and have to move to the middle of the road. Not much chop on busy roads for always going off, but on rides where the traffic is not heavy bloody brilliant. As I have said previously I am 73 and a little bit more nervy than when I was younger so a great addition to the Domane.

      @johnmanuel7561  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great footage, enjoy. Picked up my SL7 etap this week in Madison WI despite Trek Chicago store blocks from my house. Got in about 40 miles today. First time with SRAM and thumbs up. Bike incredibly smooth and blown away (or was it that I paid large sum and psychology at work). Like your going with SPD pedals and agree, I mix it up between Look and SPD. With your Wahoo, how did you connect it with Blendr (if you did)? For some reason Trek only has Garmin mount, I did see TH-cam hack. Saw one 3D printed solution on Amazon.

    Just got a Domane SL 5 last week. I'm looking at adding a Stages Gen 3 105 power meter. How much clearance do you have between the battery and the chain stay. I used the method on the Stages website and a 10mm allen wrench wouldn't fit in the entire 5mm to 12mm measurement area. Mine is a 50 with 170mm crank arms.

    Hey man, what brand of cycling clothes do you use? Bibs and jerseys.. I’ve tried different bibs (not top brands, mostly from Amazon), but man they don’t cover your front area very well and it makes your stuff look like a camel toe you know LOL.. I don’t know what’s up with that. So, to go out in public wearing that it’s a no you know.. so, not sure if better top brands are better for that stuff or what.. any tips on clothing ? What’s going on! So for bottoms, I use bontrager bibs. Unless I’m on my indoor trainer, and have a few Amazon brands for those. The entire line of bontrager are good. I invest in bibs since that impacts my riding, if I’m not comfortable. So I would advice get a good pair of bibs. And I have a few nice tops for recording but will use Amazon brands for the tops to save money. Appreciate the support!!

    • @johnmanuel7561
      @johnmanuel7561  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, it just takes time in the saddle to get use to it. Along with padded shorts. However I would recommend a good quality pair of shorts. At least one pair for really long rides. And maybe a cheaper pair for shorter rides where it is not needed as much. Because these things can get expensive. I have 2 expensive pairs of shorts and then a few cheaper ones.
