All those in commercial vehicles should receive the world’s biggest rollicking (TH-cam re-spelt it from something else…) from their management. And then a summary dismissal for wilfully damaging company property…
I reckon many of these vehicles inhale a load of water (no surprisingly), which saturates the air filter, stopping the engine when the sensors kick in (on newer cars). If the air filter is replaced or removed (if the sensors allow) then they may run again. If the car stops in the water and it gets in then it may be written off. I wonder how many of these vehicles are written off ?🤔
Generally, if the water has got as far as the air filter, it's gone inside the engine and done damage. By the time a sensor has registered it, it's too late.
I drowned a BMW 335d in a deep puddle 6 years ago. Came half way up the wheel. I was in a diesel AWD, so I thought "what can go wrong?" What I didn't realise was, that the air intake is behind the fog light, low down. So naturally, the engine sucked it straight up. The car cost me £28,500 to buy, and the repair bill from BMW was £27,600!! Fortunately, LV Insurance paid out £27,000. So off I went to buy another one. 😁 and kept it very dry.
@@1701_FyldeFlyer Yeah, but most of the cars there were in deeper than that, probably because the intake was higher up in the engine bay. I was literally just shy of the bottom of the doors. The recovery bloke said it was the 5th BMW he'd pulled out of a flood that week.
I find that amazing as all the insurance companies I've dealt with will never pay out more than half the valuation of the vehicle for a repair unless you have a classic car with an agreed valuation. Years ago, I had a company vehicle that was an Astra diesel estate and the air pick-up was at the bottom of the radiator. The stupidest place imaginable to put it.
@@georgerogers5954 I asked the guy at LV if I was covered, and he said "well you didn't intend to write off the car did you?" "therefore, it was an accident." They tried to fob me off with a lower price of £25k, but then I sent them a list of all the options on, and I said that I couldn't replace it with £25k. So they upped their offer. I had only bought the car 2 months before the accident. Looking at some of the idiots in the vid, I would say they look like they're trying to write off the cars. They go in at 20 mph!! I crawled through a small flood at tickover, and still, the engine hydrolocked.
Some absolute lunatics ploughing through in this one, and angry man at 5:47 needs to read up on the law before getting his knickers in a twist. Tom, one suggestion for a minor improvement; at the start of each video could you just quickly show the height of the water level? It'd just be interesting to compare each time and would give the regulars an idea of what we're in store for :)
This was the designated route to the holiday park that we had booked one year. I went through the ford once, but after that took an alternative route around. It was only a couple of miles extra, but why risk the car if not essential? Nice area to visit, though. Really enjoyed it, but confined our swimming to the pool in the holiday park🌊
Most of those vehicles you filmed there should have no problems with water levels like that. However, a couple of the car drivers were lucky. I drove through similarly high water (admittedly for a much longer flooded area) when I inadvertently hit a flooded road in my Citroen Picasso in 2016 while I was living in Ireland and totalled it - water got into the engine through the air intake and warped the cams. A new engine would be cheaper I was told - it was time to get a new car anyway...
I live right near here and find it amazing all these workies risking blasting through this when it literally saves about one minutes driving rather than just going to next junction on main road
I think the driver will be the first to admit that he was pissed off at breaking his car and was probably venting his frustration at the wrong person, I wouldn't take it personally
That Tesla and Opel e-Mokka showed the advantage that EV's have over ICE-cars. They can pass through the flood with ease and no worries about sucking any water into the engine.
@@jackx4311 battery compartments are watertight and so are the motors. There's actually a video in YT of a Tesla driven completely underwater. Only major thing that broke was the main computer located in the footwell when water leaked in.
The fact that the "Very unhappy driver" came and had a go at people videoing him, speaks volumes about his intelligence and that is before you factor in the fact he thought it was ok to drive his expensive car through a few feet of water and probably try to start it again because he thinks he's invincible and that engines run on water and not compressed air and fuel. I have no sympathy with him and if I'd done what he had, I'd be so embarrassed and want to boil my head.

Male Karen, and unfortunately for the male Karen, under Section 32 of the Data Protection Act gives the media and art/academia creative freedom to film in public. Which this can be classed as that
It depends on what country you are from, in Germany they have different rules.
There was a whole law suit about that several years back, look up the law suit regarding "Techno Viking".
With that said, those ruled don't apply here, because England doesn't have that same set of rules.
@@JimsEquipmentShed If you’re talking to me, I’m using UK laws, where both myself and and the fords country of origin, of course different countries have different laws, etc. if not talking to me, ignore me.
@Snoopy sod all
The guy at the end 😂
Is the a “I would fight you but I am not feeling very well today” type of guy
I was wondering how often drivers got upset at being videoed. Anyway, thank you.
If they do not like being shown for the fools they are the answer is simple; don't behave like a fool. After all nobody forces them to be stupid.
When you are in a public place anything you can see is legal to video, including into private property
I don't understand how people expect privacy when they are out and about in a public place.
amazing content, love it; cars, amateur offroading, hopes, drama, joy - everything's here
0:01 I wouldnt trust this guy to look after an indoor house plant, let alone a vehicle...
This has to be unique a public place with a ready supplied viewing platform and what the public do with it is the movie capturing that is in effect jeering at the idiots. It's a pretty basic emotion but boy is it funny 😂 Perhaps it should be called Numb-skull Spotting !!
The ducks r a nice touch
DJ and PJ are in town baby!
When we eventually get to the UK we're coming there and we're gonna probably stack it in the water and eagerly await our appearance on your channel.
get a hire car !
@@markosmith8037 And plenty of insurance!
“ im lucky what? im lucky what? you want some?” LMAOOOOOOOO LOVE THAT MAN
The Wealdstone raider would of dealt with him no worries 😂
Yes reverse approach always works🇦🇺👍🔥6;00 mark the guy is a malaka
He is where his English humor, that he assumes his mistake he has a vehicle and not a boat 😁
Thanks to DJ for recommending this channel, I'm loving the "Will it won't it make it" aspect 😱...😅😅😅
Lots of chumps. Any speed higher than walking pace - carries the real risk of £1k+ of damage. One guy had it right!
1:33 love the throw into the pile 😄
All those in commercial vehicles should receive the world’s biggest rollicking (TH-cam re-spelt it from something else…) from their management.
And then a summary dismissal for wilfully damaging company property…
@Phil B , mind that handbag , you might have somebody’s eye out .
3:13 fair play to the Tesla. One of the few people who know how to drive through a ford properly!
I wonder how many of these vehicles are written off ?🤔
Possibly for some. But when you see the white smoke coming out the exhaust though, that means water has entered the engine itself.
Generally, if the water has got as far as the air filter, it's gone inside the engine and done damage. By the time a sensor has registered it, it's too late.
Love it. The Massey doesn't even flinch.
I drowned a BMW 335d in a deep puddle 6 years ago. Came half way up the wheel. I was in a diesel AWD, so I thought "what can go wrong?"
What I didn't realise was, that the air intake is behind the fog light, low down. So naturally, the engine sucked it straight up.
The car cost me £28,500 to buy, and the repair bill from BMW was £27,600!! Fortunately, LV Insurance paid out £27,000. So off I went to buy another one. 😁 and kept it very dry.
The 'wading depth' on most 4x4s is only 12 to 18" and much lower for cars!
@@georgerogers5954 I asked the guy at LV if I was covered, and he said "well you didn't intend to write off the car did you?" "therefore, it was an accident."
They tried to fob me off with a lower price of £25k, but then I sent them a list of all the options on, and I said that I couldn't replace it with £25k. So they upped their offer.
I had only bought the car 2 months before the accident.
Looking at some of the idiots in the vid, I would say they look like they're trying to write off the cars. They go in at 20 mph!!
I crawled through a small flood at tickover, and still, the engine hydrolocked.
I'm amazed it wasn't just written off.
Yeah that'd be good. Just a second or two of the yellow depth marker in still water so we can see how deep it is.
It's as though some people don't understand how the ICE works. 🤔🤔
The artistic touch portraying to the bespectacled loud mouthed hero that he can go and get "Ducked or go Duck himself" is a geniuses touch.
Reversing through, 110 % local lad legend
Most of those vehicles you filmed there should have no problems with water levels like that. However, a couple of the car drivers were lucky. I drove through similarly high water (admittedly for a much longer flooded area) when I inadvertently hit a flooded road in my Citroen Picasso in 2016 while I was living in Ireland and totalled it - water got into the engine through the air intake and warped the cams. A new engine would be cheaper I was told - it was time to get a new car anyway...
Pistons compress air and fuel quite a bit easier than water.
Kinda sus how the first thing he says is "so i can go film kids?" and not anyone else in public.
I live right near here and find it amazing all these workies risking blasting through this when it literally saves about one minutes driving rather than just going to next junction on main road
5:20 Smart guy haha...All small cars should do that ...but only when cop is not there xD
6:39 I see what you did there ;) Thanks for the vid :)
I just love how it goes from a guy mouthing off to ducks.
You bend it you mend it!
You're a hero for videoing this instead of stopping them from driving through it like a decent human being.
I think the driver will be the first to admit that he was pissed off at breaking his car and was probably venting his frustration at the wrong person, I wouldn't take it personally
4:26 Would love to see the guy in the wheel chair have a go 😂
Best video yet. Do More angry drivers 😂
@5:30 rang rover so carefully backs through then turns around and what do we see ? he has a SNORKAL on the vehicle !!!! He could have nearly submerged with that!
What’s the going rate for a tow out of the ford?
Nice to see PJ Audits standing up to that guy!
id like to see a sculpture made from all the spare parts
The could probably make a culvert out of them - let the cars driver over rather than through.
Genuinely can’t believe that daf made it thru when all the dafs I’ve ever driven die on dry roads 🤣
The only vehicle equipped to do it safely reversed thru ! 4wd with a snorkel. Shows how little most people know about there cars. 😎👍
i noticed that too
😂😂😂😂😂😂
A snorkel that's on backwards, though, :D
@@nate8088 doesn't matter. Its the height that is important. And backwards stops mud dust insects and rain entering. 😎👍
If I had to guess I would say he was trying to protect his aftermarket spotlights on the front?
@Retired Bore I think you've missed my point, or viewed it wrong. The intake is facing forward on that vehicle, and it should be facing towards the rear, as you said.
Big up pj audits telling that angry guy straight 😂
I'm missing a headlight washer nozzle for my L320. I should probably have a root through that pile of bits.
Mate - you don't worry we all heard him , he said "you lucky you got that camera" - Driver of AJ16 HWC , not only has your car de-valued because of the water damage you inflicted on your car, your social status isn't that well now, for picking on people of the public.... But this is the normal reaction from BMW drivers when our expensive cars can't make it through water!
DJ & PJ audits attending I see
Yep
My video is out today at 4pm 👍👍
@@DJAUDITS
Looking forward to that DJ 👍
5:08 probably the smartest person to ever cross that road? not only that, they also had a full snorkel joint on their car...i'm impressed.
Hats off to the Citroen and Tesla drivers. Doing it right
I think the Tesla could do it how it wants - subject to bits falling off - without breaking
Haven't seen a Tesla fail
Tesla goes through like "What water?"
You must be making a killing off these videos. Absolute genius!
There seems to be a certain element of commercial vehicle drivers looking for cheap advertising.
5:10
Always wondered if driving in reverse is better...
@Retired Bore
(Sorry, if too harsh)
Yeah, like I preciely meant to try with a rear engined vehicle....
The ONLY guy equipped to go through, the Disco with the six foot high air intake, goes through backwards 🤷🏻♂️
I recognise that voice PJ has turned up.
this looks like a fun way to spend an afternoon! cheers!
Lucky PJ's got his camera.....😂
Do I spot DJ there too ?
Yes
You tell him PJ!! 👏 something about seeing the splash, love the vids
