    What kind of FPS trend do you want to see become more popular?

    After 6 years in EFT I find every other fps boring and unchallenging. Every raid is a story on its own. I find other fps way more repetitive.

    Extraction shooters are the only fps games I play now. Clutching a 1v3 and getting out with a shit ton of loot gives me an adrenaline rush that I just can't get from getting a lot of kills in TDM from cod. Or finding a rare loot drop and making it out just gives that feeling of getting a rare item drop from a Mob in wow.

    it really comes down to skill issue
    to enjoy extraction based shooters it's usually imperative to already be an above average FPS gamer in the first place who is familiar with not only gun and movement mechanics but map knowledge, positioning etc

      the only issue with this statement is that it's not completely about a skill issue. if I work a full time job and have other responsibilities in life I don't have the time to grind out the good tarkov weapons and attachments and armor. and there's always a possibility that I'll run into someone who streams the game fulltime or something and just has objectively better gear than me in every way. yes there's a chance I could get lucky and 1 tap him in the face , but he's far more likely to just win a fight regardless of what I do because he just has better stuff than me. if there's 2 evenly matched players skill wise but one of them has better equipment, that player will win at least 9/10 times easy

    PVP based extraction shooters by nature cannot be for everyone, they will always remain a niche. It's a very hard market to break because it's meant to filter out players as the life cycle continues. I look at it like fighting games in that regard. There will always be a loser in a fighting game, but the times you do succeed and learn from your mistakes really make it an amazing and triumphant experience you can't get in a lot of other genres of gaming. Just like with fighting games, there will be so many more evolutions of the extract shooter genre in the coming years, whether good or bad.

    Extraction shooters never existed it was due to technical limitations of games that could not merge maps into one huge map.

      @@stillsolothats on the road map for EFT, also your whole issue with extraction shooters could be revolved by GITTIN GUDDER. You made a whole video explaining why you suck.

    Extraction shooters are just not for you, man
    and not bc you can't enjoy them means they have the worst of the FPS traits, after all, most extraction shooters are much more demanding on the player's skills.

  • @flightlesdragon3404
    @flightlesdragon3404 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So the main point I'm hearing is that its just a skill issue to extraction shooters and you think they suck because it requires a lot of time and effort to learn a new game and how it actually works and just get over if you're unlucky and die

    TH-cam dislikes extension show more dislikes then likes- even liking the genre a bit i have to agree, hes not wrong, why the dislikes?. A sad reality of niche genres even more so on pvp with high skill ceilings is that overtime it will worsen- current numbers include a whole bunch of people lured to then before giving up. Its almost like a pyramid scheme- they thrive on scoring kills only the upper few achieve, most players are just feeding the other players as 'content' until they leave- that may take few hours/days or thousands of hours even.
    Its not just behaviour or skill ceiling- a huge portion of the player base (the ones getting very mad, just camping, acussing others) recognize and appreaciate the get gud by nature but cant really match pros nor cheaters- some will suceed in camping the entire match for a brief dopamine, others will eventually leave and others will... succumb. To using cheats. I bet it starts small 'just a leg up' they probably think. Pvp in general attracts more cheating but extraction shooters because of the extra high reward vs risk +skill attracts even more.
    Theres nothing wrong liking it, being good at it etc etc. The Adrenaline this genre can bring is near unmatchable. Its just a reality in game design, in particulr pvp, every project is a tension between the high of scoring/wining vs the frustration of loosing. The frustration is unavoidable (for someone to win someone must loose) so the better results(popularity and longevity) try to manage so the frustration doesnt overshadown the highs... Extraction shooters double dip on the frustration- the higher skill entry +ceiling does it, so does low ttk, and no respawning... but gets even worse that it isnt 2 team versus- so its not even a 50/50 split between dopamine rewarded winners vs loosers...
    I moved out- i like too many genres +limited time i cant get really good, cant invest much time, not worth it for me. Even liking the whole idea and its thrills wasnt feasible for me, as for many... sadly i dont see much longevity for individual titles; Unless they manage to keep the treadmill influx of newbies feeding the game eventually numbers will start to go down and the enjoyment of the good players is dependent on having all the lower hanging fruit for the matchs with big scores. If/when the lowest skill gets out the ones above that will become the new easy kills; After those move out the better but not pro-best will be next in line...
    I mean the genre can thrive with new games creating new hype, populations and people migrating, but individual titles i see doomed, eventually. Some people still play quake. Team fortress 2 turned 16 or 17 i think. Extraction shooters by nature are antagonistic to the losers, so if/when a game eventually loses popularity only the most faithful and skilled will remain- and then who once tought they were big shots will find thenselves loosing way more then wining until they too leave out.
    Its math really. Imagine it was a duel game and only 2 players were left- unless equally matched the looser wouldnt queue to be defeat for the 50th time. And heck in that scenario he would leave wondering if the other wasnt subtly cheating to have such aim.
