Cool way of blending. Glad to see other Sharpie styles out there. I'm an old guy who started drawing with Sharpies about 15 years ago. With no official art training, I didn't realize you weren't supposed to blend Sharpies. I created a style by scribbling multiple colors of ultra fines over each other for each color. i'm so confused. every art video i watch, they use gelly roll and it works perfectly! so white! but when i use gellyroll, it starts blending in with the color, so instead of white, i get light purple.
Depends on what you use. I found that with Ohuhu markers, the gellyroll ink mixes with the pigment from the markers. You also have to let the marker ink dry completely before you use the gellyroll or it will mix

Cool, I came here from Jazza's video, and I can't wait to try this with the sharpies I have, which is around a twenty to thirty set. I kinda went overboard with school supplies so I'm glad to have a use for them.
They are all ultra fine so I suppose that will pose a problem. I usually get ultra fine because those are better to write words with, though coloring things in isn't really their purpose so I shall try my best.

Tip! If you don't have a skin color for sharpies (like I don't), turn to copic markers or leave the skin white. Then use the Coral pink for shading. This is what I usually do, considering that Instagram filters exist, and they work amazing for my artworks that I do.
Yeahhh I just prefer to use only sharpie when I do sharpie art. I could easily use my copics but I don't want to :) I also use pinks for the skin because I like blending it out and can't really do that with just one marker lol
This was amazing it came out great, and you have 2 good browns too you could've used that for the skin as well, and the ombré effect you create too is great
I only had the really really dark brown, sadly~ That would be fine if I had a highlight color with it so all the pencil lines/outlines wouldn't be hidden.
Wow this is really cool saw you on jazzas video. Nice artwork and cool style also since you like sakuras gel pen you should try the uni ball signo really great white pen.

You're work is beautiful. I'm actually a legally blind comic illustrator and graphic designer and i really just started working more by hand because with my vision i prefer using my computer and drawing tablet. Any tips for blending? My vision makes it difficult lately. I know i need bleedless paper for one...but yeah. Some colors by the end of the day smudge bad when the whole page is finished.

Your sharpie art is amazing. I feel like whenever I use sharpie it bleeds everywhere. I'm just not very good at controlling the ink from spreading out. And you do a great job of making the sharpie look nice and smooth and blended.

Maybe you need to let your makers dry a little longer

Little to none. The only thing I had a class for was Still Life, but I was already too advanced for the class and learned nothing from it lol
