Great tips! I use this with my colored pencils often, especially with smaller areas that would not benefit from a heavy hand. Now I'm going to try it with my markers! Thanks for renewing my love for coloring ::)
It's a shame Sharpies, Bics (and likely other alcohol-based markers, including the much-coveted Copics) are not archival and lightfast. They fade and discolor. Google it. It broke my heart to learn it because I LOVE them! If you're using them for your art, be prepared to scan your pieces and have prints made if you want them to last.
I loved this series and I don't even use sharpies to color with. I really wish they had something like this for colored pencils, you enthusiasm is contagious! You are awesome!!
I'm really enjoying watching your videos. I just had a question. When you go over the darker colours with the lighter coloured sharpie, does it stain the tip of the lighter coloured one? Thanks.
I have had a few marker tips get slight stains but it doesn’t change the color of the ink. Just scribble on a scratch paper until the ink draws clean and the stained tip doesn’t matter!
4:16 how do you stop your lighter coloured markers from absorbing the darker colours into the felt tip? This happens to me a lot and ends up ruining the marker by making the colour all murky.
+sparkle hero, I am building this channel organically (not paying for views or likes) so it is growing slowly and there are really valuable videos here that have been lost in the early days. I may have to revisit those topics as my channel grows.
in my opinion this technique is better for things like hair ect. rather than flames, flames dont normally have as many details (like hair) xD but very nice examples. it is just my opinion though, so meh lol
FuzzyTheFluffyWolfAJ♡ I actually really liked the flames (and the leaf as well). Thus far, this has been my favorite technique in the Sharpie Secret series.

Have you tried a 100 lb. cover paper? It is a card stock for book covers, brochures and post cards. It may take the saturation a little better.
❤ this. Thank you. Look forward to no. 5!
+ozshell72, oh good because I finished editing it today! Thanks for watching. 😊

Does the darker coloured marker not stain the tip of the lighter coloured marker?

nice videos. Thanks for uploading them!
I really like this effect :)
Will these Sharpie techniques also work with the BIC Marking or Mark It in your experience?

With prsctice you can make it look smooth

Your hand is in the way again
No, not for me. Too many lines. Blending should be smooth and there should be a light source. Sharpies are not for good looking work.
Ever try soak blending?
