    Love your videos, I have a few other tips for blending that you might find interesting?
    I use sable brushes to slightly dampen the area I'm working on (not soak like watercolour) and the ink blends nicely with one colour and also multiple colours. I also like using sharpies that are almost out and use them as a shading effect like sort of like using a permanent coloured pencil or pastel.
    You can get really subtle especially in details.

    • @rioreason
      @rioreason 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mersian Arts In order to successfully blend any two colors from any alcohol marker brand, you need them to be similar in value and hue. You’d be hard pressed to blend a yellow with a black, but you shouldn’t have much issue blending black with a dark purple. The closer the two markers are in hue and value, the easier they will blend. Also, try the press and flick method. Flick towards the color you want to blend with. There are multiple blending methods - have a look here on TH-cam for Copic or alcohol marker blending methods. They should translate reasonably well to Sharpies. Sharpies have very similar ink to other alcohol markers. Not exactly, but being alcohol based they share a lot of the same properties.

    Does this technique of soaking the paper with ink work on the thin marker paper? The thing about the special professional marker paper is that it doesn’t absorb as much ink and therefor saves your pens so I’m wondering if the non absorbency minimizes the blending properties.
