Enjoyed every minute of that. Milton Jones is such a funny man. And in an age where expletives and smut are the order of the day, it's a delight to enjoy his humour and not have to be embarrassed because your children or your mother are in the room with you.

Sorry to disappoint you but Mock the Week has ended. Which is a problem for a topical comedy show. You'll have to settle for repeats, and excerpts here on TH-cam.

He made Mock the Week worth watching.
Just for those brief unique interjections is so wonderfully funny amongst all of the unfortunate crowd who think have to swear to make people laugh.
You certainly get your money’s worth with Milton.

I wonder how much his faith informs this part of his act? When I think of openly Christian comedians, Miles Jupp stands out as a comparatively sweary one. Actually, scratch that: I completely forgot about Frank Skinner 😅

As an Anglican(Church Of Ireland) Christian living in Northern Ireland I must say I really enjoyed this interview with Milton Jones. I didn't know that his Mum was from Northern Ireland and belonged to the Brethren denomination. I can see where Milton is coming from when he mentions his Mother's Christian faith and the fact that he is a Christian comedian. Over here in Northern Ireland I have heard Christian Denominations and not just the Brethren saying things like"Don't do that on a Sunday* and"That type of secular entertainment is unchristian" as if the Bible is some kind of a rulebook. Anything I do is done whilst I have my Christian faith. Comedy means laughing at myself even about how I live my Christian life. Heck people of other denominations have teased me about how often us Anglicans get up and down during services. I reply by saying that we do get a GOOD work out excercise wise😅😅
I have also said"I'd better get out of this church building/hall before anybody realises that I'm an Anglican" 😅😅
    Does anybody take offence?
    Heck NOOOO!!!
I'd love to see one of Milton's shows.
Any chance of him coming to Northern Ireland eg Grand Opera House, Belfast.
Personally I think a writting clean comedy that you can"Tell to the Bishop" is harder.
    God bless you Milton.🙏

In 1971, when I was 5, my father asked me what team I would support. Me, being totally disinterested in all sport, (which is why I support Arsenal, I hear you cry ! 😂) replied Liverpool. Astonished and deeply offended, my Cockney father asked WTF, Liverpool !! I replied because they play in red. My father, a keen all round sportsman, who was a boxing champion, county runner, soccer captain, rugby captain, cricket captain, and did shot putt, javelin and discus; told me that if I was stupid enough to chose a team based on the colour of the home kit, then I should at least chose a LONDON team !! Hence I ended up with Arsenal. They did the double in 1971 as well.
Unable to tell you anything about football, other than they kiss each other when someone scores, and they have mixed bathies afterwards. Hence, it never appealed. Rolling around in the mud with 22 ladies, umm !

Thanks. Humour is indeed a gift from God. I think more could have been made of its ability to bring people together. How often can people laugh together wven when they haven't grasped the joke. It helps to undermine the pompous (think of Jesus comment about the speck and the plank mentioned by Justin when talking to Frank Skinner). It can help break down barriers. Think of the 'Chuckle Brothers', Ian Paisley and Martin McGuiness in Northern Island.

People of religious faith especially within christianity that endorse laughter due to comical effects as such is btw quite the opposite of what the tenets profess. The modern "christian" approach to mediate this uncomfortably chiming issue has been to water it down (read: cherry-pick and "interpret" beyond recognition) to a whole different version of what actually is written verbatim in scripture, which proves even the openly professing believers don't really want to take the commandments, rules and demands not to mention threats within anymore seriously than say claims being left without christmas presents lest exhibiting commonly considered decent behaviour through the year. In itself it statues as solid proof for reason and reality replacing superstition and mythology as arbiters in society.

Current comedy appears to have just shifted the butt, or target of the joke from minorities, to the majority. Not sure if this is progress, or just a cultural shift? Atheists making fun of Christians, for example, is this any different from mocking other groups? To me it seems hitting the target is more important, than making people laugh and it's intent is disingenuous.

Being from the age of the mother-in-law jokes, I find the ‘planting’ of the non English homosexual in a wheel chair as a completely false agenda.
Certainly people of that ilk are in the British society, but their inclusion by proportion is not necessarily funny, as all they seem to talk about in their act is their ‘condition.’
Similarly with the adverts on TV. Britain is being sold out to the minorities, and as such is tending to loose much of it’s white Christian identity, which has such a lot to be quietly proud of, despite what the Woke minority would have us all believe.

You are confusing two things here. Real Christianity isn't a "white thing", after all it's the worship of a Jewish rabbi who was nailed to a cross as a trouble maker, and who was raised from the dead, and it's good news to all nations, races and tribes. One of the revolutionary things about the early church was Jews and Gentiles, rich and poor included in the same community and given equal value. Now cultural Christianity is admittedly something else entirely different but far less valuable.

I don't see how it's 'completely' false. Maybe partly because some of the comedians aren't funny - just like lots of comedians. Christian tradition does have lots to be proud of, and coming to terms with truth being told is an important part of the Christian commitment.

Christian identity is not 'white'. Christian identity is following Jesus. Jesus wasn't white by the way, but middle Eastern. You're planting a false identity.

As an atheist, I find his religiosity to be a great disappointment. Everything else is so clever.

Why are you atheists so judgemental? Why can’t you just leave people to believe what they want? And I bet you describe yourself as liberal’ - pathetic

You sound like the Taliban with such prejudice - why not let the man believe what he wants? Such a fascist statement you made. And I bet you call yourself liberal! Pathetic

Sorry you're having to deal with disappointment... That must be hard for you. IQ has nothing to do with religion, except more Christians go to Oxbridge than any other universities.

@@KJ-lb4tj The smart answer is that IQ also has little to do with intelligence (see The Mismeasurement of Man by S.J.Gould). If you knew anything about academic history you would know that universities were long under the thumb of the Church (see The Warfare of Science with Theology by A.D.White) and all dons were forced to take holy orders (unless they were Jewish, in which case they were entirely barred). This has led to the misapprehension that all of those clever Oxbridge scientists and mathematicians were very devout. The syndics have made sure that little has changed.
