I come from traditional fighters and hearing “ryu can cancel his normals into specials” is a tech sounds so wild to me XD

Tails Dash is super iconic. Literally, the devs know about it but leave it in the game because it's iconic and helps the character

If you use Luigi, dash forward, crouch walk (holding down and left/right at the same time), then shield at Luigi will slide across the stage while being entirely shielded. Pretty good for approaching and out of shield options but it’s weak to grabs
Pretty sure Meta Knight's tornado speeds up when he touches the ground because real tornadoes do the same thing.

For Sora, you can also say it snaps to the ledge when recovering low avoiding moves like wario down tilt or something similar. Just has more nuance.

Sandbag can actually do the bomb regrab tech on many of the platform stages just as long as he can find a way to slide off of it

Mario cape glide is actually not SSF2 exclusive. It's in Brawl as well, though getting the same level of carried momentum is much more precise in that game.
Edit: Also pretty pretty Zelda has teleport cancels in this game. Not entirely certain, but if so, it would definitely be better than just a ledge refresh.
An interesting thing Samus has is that if you use neutral b in the air it pushes you back a set amount depending on how big the charge was. However, if you shoot a full charge shot at all, your next aerial neutral b will give you the pushback of a full neutral b even if it's only a small one.

So, about Mega Man's techs (shameless plug time lmao) - I've finally finished my Mega Man Tech Guide, and I recommend y'all check the video out, it goes over a lot more stuff than _just_ pellet cancelling (the neutralb -> cancel to upb -> cancel to aerial), and even covers Mega Man's other Specials

I've played a lot of Naruto in the past and I want to main him but I never knew that u could control when to kick with your up special which is insane! Considering the fact that I always miss with this move, tysm for the tech!!!
Honestly, what Crusade did with Kirby in their most recent update (9.5) is kinda the reason I prefer it over SSF2 now. Don't get me wrong, I still like SSF2. But Kirby in Crusade now is absolutely FUCKING NASTY.

Thata pretty useless to know but Black Mage has the biggest legde grab in the game, Its so big that u can teleport from the bottom of the Battlefield stage (bcz Its so thin), i normally use This as a ledge mixup were i can snap the ledge without getting punish so yeah
But wait here’s a new mechanic for Donkey Kong, Once you start his up special, Mash the special button as quickly as possible you can to make him rise up and he gain some more vertical distance recovery!

"What holds back tails" the fact that ssf2 is an online game. The difference between regular down b, jump out of spindash, and tailsdash is only a few frames. Good luck lmao

havent played this game in a while but theres this thing you can do with kaioken where if you lose kaioken while youre in special fall you get reset back to a regular falling state so you can up b again, allows you to make it back with 2 up bs after killing someone at low percents with double fair

I still love how it took a whole 1 nerf to make Kirby go from playable to worst in the game.

If you use ichigo fair slide at the edge of a platform or the stage, you get a massive boost, kinda like if you rc dash off of raymans plum. It can be really good for catching your opponent off guard and getting a fair, bair or even dair off stage to kill, or to just move around the stage quickly and unpredictably.
Also if your opponent misses a tech, you can jab 1 to reset them and then short hop fair slide, the fair will hit your opponent and they'll take the usual knock back, but you'll slide with them and can follow up with an fsmash, upsmash, jab into a follow up, grab, or even wait to see if they tech or not and do it again, or punish the get up option (or you can just use the fair slide offensively/in neutral). It's really broken but I don't think I've ever seen a player use it before. But definitely try it out, it's crazy and fun as hell.

I thought I'd bring up something about Sonic's Reverse Spin Dash, as I like to do a couple challenges, a lot of them being who can make it under a specific stage. At first, I thought Sonic was terrible with these, since I hadn't figured out what Reverse Spin Dash was. Then, on Meta Crystal, I was goofing around with him (as he is my secondary), and I found out that you don’t actually have to do it off a spring, but you can also just do it off a ledge, which gives Sonic some crazy horizontal distance, which is exactly what he needed. Doing it off the skidding animation carries even more momentum, and mix that with his alright jump height and amazing vertical distance he gets with his Spring Jump, and he now does quite well. He's no Pac-Man or MetaKnight, and I highly doubt that the off ledge version could be used often in a competitive set, as it can be really difficult to pull off, and you'll probably end up losing all of your stocks before you actually get to do it, but it can be fun and something to consider if you're trying some challenges, as Homing Attack gives you nothing and will probably send you to your death, and Light Speed Dash just puts you into free fall. So yeah, just something I thought I'd like to bring up.

Fun Fact : u can platform sliding with Sora by using fire or Freeze like Mario

@@TJ-Henry-Yoshi her upsmash controls neutral since its waaaayyy faster than it should be, is huge, and has no endlag. So 90% of the time thats all you playing against. Also I am notoriously down against this one zelda player sooooooo. 🙃

Sandbag can also use his down b to “wavedash.” Just down b and hold down-forward or down-back and he’ll slide across the stage while completely actionable. Not as useful on platforms but can setup for RC dashes easier.
