Yeah that's what I plan on doing. Unfortunately the temperatures dropped out into the single digits and my budget isn't even going to allow for that even though it's cheap so it's going to sit for a few weeks. Even then I've still got to get several other parts so I don't know when it's going to get back on the road. That shift block is going to have to be ordered apparently unless I can budget in a lot of gas money and travel time for salvage yards. My best bet for success is an hour and a half away from me at a Pick-n-Pull
The fork I can get at the parts store for about 30 bucks but the shift tower I can't get except for online for 60 to $80 or I have to find it in a salvage yard. I'm talking about the plastic block that the shifter is mounted to on top of the trans. When I bought the truck and the guy drove off the thing came apart when I was about to get on the highway and head home. Found out after the fact that he JB welded it together and of course it didn't hold. You'll see me pointing that out in some of the videos
9:15 lol I was about to say if you have another S10 to look at
100% that fork has got to go bent ends and worn out ...add a new throw out bearing in for good measure.
Fork installed backwards??? Or like the first comment said a bent /damaged fork
The way that fork has been butchered up I would think it's not the right clutch fork and someone tried to make it work.
Fork is bent and those groves are from a previous failed throw out bearing. Get a new fork and a new throw out bearing and be done with it

@ a fork is probably like 30 bucks, definitely not worth driving or trying to pull one from a salvage vehicle.

@@notmyworldnotmypeople3614 ahh I see, I wasn’t understanding what you meant by shift block, but I get it now.
wow that fork is TRASH, even small cars here in europe have more travel on the throw out bearing
