@@theTSAguy This is a bit frustrating but do you know how to get the Eqip registration code? I’ve been emailing with no response and no clear way of getting it. Need help
Have you been instructed to complete the eqip process? Some people go looking for the code without being instructed to start. If you have been instructed then contact HR. If not then just sit tight.
The medical is nothing major. It's basically to make sure your alive and healthy. They will also do the drug test at the same time. If you haven't subscribed already go ahead and do so. I do videos on more than just TSA. I teach you how how to build a federal career from scratch.
Yes. you definitely can do the job. It's easy and nothing too crazy ever really happens. The physical is very simple, they just want too see if your able too do basic standing, walking, turning, blood pressure check, hearing test. It's like being at the MEPS, without the blood test, waddling like a duck or the spreading of the butt cheeks. If you had surgeries in the past that could slow the process bc they will make you jump through hoops. If you haven't subscribed go ahead and do so. I'll have more videos coming. I'm a little behind right now on getting videos made.
I had my virtual interview on 3/5 in the morning and by the end of the day, I received a call from the recruiter that I had passed the interview and was already set up to take the medical exam. Which I completed 10 days later.

Hello Fazle, First of all, I want to thank you for posting this video. Helped me to get an insight on what working at TSA is like. I just have a few questions to ask you if you don’t mind. But first, as a backstory,I want to say that I am interested in working as a federal air marshal. I have applied to be one last week on the 10th. I applied to be a TSO as well. I am scheduled to take the test on the 24th of this month. My first question to you is, in your opinion, is it worth being a TSO worker? In terms of pay, work life balance, and working with people around you as well as the travelers? I know you talked about some of this, but I want to know a little more in-depth. My second question to you is, the reason I asked you the first question is because mentioning earlier, I said I want to become a Federal Air Marshal. And I want to know if I have a better chance of becoming one starting off as a TSO worker rather than what I did and applied automatically? Thanks
lol yea I had an answer typed but I forgot to send it. Is the job worth it…? That depends on your needs. I needed a job, work experience, and something to build my resume. I was also living at home with my parents so I was able to work part-time and focus on applying for more jobs. So, to me it was worth it. If it’s worth it for you or not will be a personal decision. If the job fits in with your end goals or if you just need a job for some income, then fine. But if you’re taking the job because you have no idea what you want to do and hoping that TSA will make your decisions easier…you’re just going to be disappointed. Taking the job with no exit plan will lead to a dead end job. You don’t need this job to be an air marshal nor will it make it easier to get the job. Most are former military and law enforcement, and a few fresh out of college. Some did have the TSO job before becoming an air marshal, but being a TSO didn’t make the process any easier. Having one government job doesn’t make it easier to get another. It just makes it a bit easier to move around within the same agency. Hope this helps.
Very helpful video. 1) Is it fair to say that the CBT is now asking for 3D rather than X-ray questions or can they go back and forth? 2) I wonder what the percentage is of those who fail the first time but pass on the second attempt. 3) In order to take the test a second time, does one get an invitation or do you have to wait for a job opening and apply again?
Hi, Thank you for all the info I have a few questions. 1. As a new hire, are you given vacation when you begin working or do we have to accrue them? If so, how many are we given at the beginning? 2. You mentioned off-days are during the week? No weekend off days?
1. Yes, if your part time you get 2.5 hours each pay period, if full time you get 4 hours each pay period. These numbers in years after 3 and 15 year marks. You accrue time off from day one. 2. You get 2 days off each week. They will be the same days each time until you bid for a new schedule. You may or may not get weekends. Just depends on what is available. You will not be able to take time off whenever is convenient for you. They need a certain amount of people of the checkpoint and a certain ratio of males/females. So put in your time off as far in advance e as possible.
@@theTSAguy like you I’m hoping it will open more doors for me! I currently work 2 security jobs unarmed in the morning and armed at night but contracted security has little room for growth and a lot of risk.
With FTO you're going to get way more experience that you can transfer to other jobs vs being a blue shirt on the checkpoint like I was. Leveraging my experience was tricky and annoying.
Love the videos. I have done everything and now just have my medical on the 29th as my location had a hiring event on the 5th-6th of this month and streamlined everything. I have about $3600 in collections and the rest is a car loan or student loan and I rent an apartment. Is the medical hard to pass? Id hate to give up other jobs for this to not pass if I'm not fit enough. And are there multiple trainings at FLETC or just one during a specific time? I really want this job and it's lined up for what I want to do in life. I appreciate any and all the info you have. Thank you so much for your videos.
Medical is easy, no working out or pt tests. Don’t worry about the stuff in collections, as long as you have been making payments and have proof. Watch my video on FLETC. Training is done in 2 parts. I’ll do an update video on FLETC and training later this year.
Okay thats good to hear. I am excited for this job and hoping to start relatively soon. I did everything at the event then had my medical scheduled. And the collections Im working on. I work part time right now and trying to get a handle on them. @@theTSAguy
Thanks for taking your time out to do this video. I am scheduled for orientation, they said black footwear. Which shoes are acceptable? Does it have to be shiny?
You can wear any pair of black shoes, as long as they are comfortable, clean, and not sneakers. For example, no Jordan's, Air Force 1s, or any athletic type shoe. Just normal black shoes. They don't need to be shiny. You're just going to get them scuffed and having dirty shoes is a uniform violation. I wore a dull black set of shoes that I bought at Wal-Mart. Nothing expensive, just go for comfort. What you could do is just go to your airport and look at the type of shoes people are wearing.
This video is a little old. But my question is. Do you have to go to the Academy for TSA or is the training in the airport work area? Thank you for all the great info and your videos!
I had an interview and did my E-86 form. Waiting to be cleared. She said there’s an “assessment” which she said means another interview. Wondering what comes next. She said its a new hiring process so I’m not entirely sure what to expect or how to prepare
Good evening I know this video is old, but I still had a question that I wanted to ask just in case someone could respond and help. In terms of the delinquency rule, I don’t have anything on my credit that currently says delinquent, however, I do have credit cards that were charged off While I was unemployed. And unfortunately, when I tried to call those credit card companies to see if a payment could be made, I was informed that they can no longer legally except a payment because the account had already been charged off. The collection agency in which it was sent to is not on my credit at all. So in terms of the actual account saying charge off there seems to be nothing I can do about that. I’m trying to see if I will still be disqualified or if there’s any other advice? Thanks
A charge off is when the bank writes off your debt bc they know they’ll never collect on it. So they debt is gone and no longer on the books but you’re still legally liable for it. That’s why you have no record of outstanding debt. You won’t be disqualified but you still need to report it to the investigator.
They will work with you but it will depend on how willing management is. Agency needs will come first but they have accommodated my schedule when I needed them to in the past. Are you working with them now?
@@joseline9344 since you're gonna be part- time, don't expect above 15k a year. If you include all your retirement, health care, and extra pay benefits you'll be at 20k max.
The reading test is easy, as long as you have a high school diploma you'll be fine. If you can communicate this well on TH-cam, your English is strong enough to pass without any problems. Go ahead and subscribe if you haven't already.
Just wanted to say & clarify that it is not true that anyone can pass the TSA medical, having a pulse is not enough, you need to pass the minimal requirements of eye sight & everything else. I qualified for everything but didn’t pass the medical because my eye prescription was old, so it’s not that easy.
FYI. I also failed the medical portion of the eye exam. My near sightedness was horrible. I appealed and saw my optometrist and got glasses. Resubmit the prescription of new glasses. A day later, I got an email from Acuity indicating I passed the medical evaluation. I now passed the background as of today 04/22/2022. I say, appeal the process, get new glasses and you will be fine.
If I applied for one airport. Do I have to repeat the process for each airport, even after going through background, medical, fingerprints, E-86, etc. ?
Probation is 2 years if you’re part-time, 1 year if you’re full-time. Credit check is done after you pass the CBT. It’s run simultaneously with your airport assessment. If you fail then you are disqualified and need to go repair your credit before you can apply again. Hope that helps.
i have a question but im not shure if your still answering questions because this video is old. yesterday i applied and today i got an email to take the test. but this question is for you. Is transferring a possibility like going to one airport and lets say that theres a airport much closer to you can you put in the transfer??
Love your Videos - super informative! - I did my CBT and filled out my sf86 form a couple of weeks ago - how long does it usually take to hear for the next step? - Thanks in Advance.
@@tammyvannguyen-ronberg7411 That's a good sized airport and the agency nation-wide is very short staffed so you should get an interview soon. My educated guess is about 90 days but this will still depend on the needs of the airport. Sit tight you should be on-boarded by the end of the year. There's no need to check your application status everyday, you'll get emails when they want to contact you. There really is no set time table, it's all based on needs and turnover rate.
I came across your video and am thankful to hear from you. I have a question; I have a delinquent debt from previous years under $7,500. Do I have to worry about it? I am so prepared to take the CBT TSA exams. However, I postponed twice already as I hurriedly paid some of my debts, but still, I have more unpaid debts. DO I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A DELINQUENT DEBT UNDER 7,500 DOLLARS? Thank you so much; I appreciate you.
Delinquent debt is when you failed to pay your debts so the bank sent you to collections. General debt is not a concern. Have you debts been sent to collections yet?
@@theTSAguy Yes, I have a lot of it! That's why I am trying to resolve this right now. But, as I have said, the total amount is less than $7,500.00. So, do I have to worry about it? Another question, due to my delinquent debts, I have postponed exams twice already. Does this also affect my records?

Happy to help! watch my video on the CBT test before you go in Keep killing the debt as fast as you can or go into debt consolidation if you need to. You can also negotiate what you’re willing to pay the collection agency since they buy your debt for a smaller amount. As an example, if you owe 3K, you can literally confront the collector and tell them you know they bought the debt for a smaller amount and you’re only willing to pay 1k. The debt collector will settle for 10%-50% of the original amount. Make sure to get this in writing and make sure it gets reported as “paid in full” or “paid as agreed.” This is openly talked about in the finance circuits. It’s right on the equitable website.

You have to apply to a job posting, that will list the airport you’re applying to. You are only going to get an offer to the airport you applied to. You can apply to multiple airports, but you will only able to choose you airport as the final job offers are made.
great video. I am almost done with my testing process. I passed my medical assessment and just completed my SF86. My question is, I submitted my SF86 online and I try to go back online but it did not allow me to log back in. Is looked like I never had an account, as if someone deleted it completely. Is this normal? The system does not even recognized my user name and password, after I submitted it online. Help!
Perfectly normal, once you submit it the investigation becomes active. The only way you can get back in is if the hiring agency opens it back up for corrections, then the investigation is frozen pending your corrections.
They did get a pay raise of about 30% this year. The reason many ( sch as myself) work at the TSA is simply to get in the door, gain some work experience, then move on to different jobs and other agencies. Very few stay long term.
You don’t apply for the conversion, it’s automatically given to you. The only way your time in service will help you is if you. It back your military time.
There’s no exceptions given to veterans as far as if you get hired full-time or part-time. The only way to get hired full time from the start is to apply to a full time position.
Pay is listed on the job posting. It’s specific to the location of where job is. The pay for Los Angeles will be different from the pay in Houston, for example…
No, you will be hired according to the job posting. If it says full-time, then you will be hired as full-time. If they try to hire you as anything other than full-time then the agency can be sued. That would be illegal.
So I took my CBT test about 3 weeks ago. I'm just now finishing my background check info. What is the next step? Or would I have to take an assessment that everyone is talking about? Do you know when they will call me for the whatever the next step is ? Sorry for all the questions I'm just so confused.
1. You're waiting for the airport assessment. This will be your interview and medical checks. 2. As to when you get called for the airport assessment? This will be based on how quickly your airport is hiring and how high the turnover is. The process moves faster at larger airports. The airport assessment is multiple steps wrapped into one. This step is considered "complete" when you complete the SF-86, credit check, interview, fingerprints, and submit signed documents needed for Federal employment. Then you move to the "ready pool" If you haven't subscribed go ahead and do so, I'll have more videos coming.
@@candicericks5186 hey I took my cbt and passed week ago just curious how long did it take for them to contact you to begin step 4(background chk etc)?
Hi, so I’m pretty deep in the process but a little concerned. I took the CBT exam in January and completed my background in January. I didn’t hear anything hear any back until April. I completed my fingerprints, photo and drug test. I also had to correct something on my SF86 and turned it back in the same day how much longer do you think I have? Patiences is almost thin lol
My advice is to always apply for multiple jobs. Let the process play out but keep looking for other federal jobs. Don’t put all your efforts into one place.
I was given a medical fail and had 30 days to appeal. After giving them the extra things they asked for (twice) i was medically cleared, now just waiting......

if you are a college student and is applying for TSA that is okay right? They will try to work with my schedule? I’m currently going to go for 2 days a week so far but I could change. How does that work
Hi Fazle. So everyone starts as a part timer? How many hours weekly? UGH!! I'm not sure if a part time with the TSA would be okay for me financially.. :(
No not everyone, there's airports that have full time positions. You will get full time eventually. I think now it'll be sooner rather than later. Part-time is 25 hours full-time is 40 hours. You'll need to work 2 jobs if you're only part-time depending on your financial situation.
Hey so I been notified to correct my OF-306 form but they don’t show me the mistake nor where to submit the form if I were to correct it. Do you know how to fix this issue or who I can contact?
Thank you for the reply… Another question there’s a question on the SF86 form about the 7th years police contact. What happened if you actually did but almost 8 years ago? Thanks for the help.

I had to appeal for a misdemeanor I had from 2019, I submitted all court documents and statements about how I should be a food fit for the job. I received an email last week stating. Due to recently submitted information, PerSec reversed the previous denial pre-appointment determination. Would you know what that means ?
It means you just cashed in your one “get out of jail free” card and have been given a second chance. From now on you have to keep your nose clean or risk losing your job.
@cesardominguez3552 your waiting on additional emails for to clear all the other steps in the process. You’ll get a job offer noice when your airport has availabilities to bring you on
I was formerly employed on a military base and had to go thru a security clearance for the job in a daycare facility. Is that the same type of security clearance I will need for TSA position? it was thru the e-Qip where I got my clearance. Thx for your helpful videos!
It will be the same form but I’m not sure if it will be the same level or clearance. The good thing is your information will already be saved so all you’re doing is updating it.
So I applied for TSA officer here at Dallas forth worth and Dallas love field last December. I’m done for CBT, Airport Assessment and Medical Eval. I’m on the back ground stage now, how long it does its takes before you will be at the ready pool and EOD? How long is the training?
You’ll enter the ready pool when your SF-86 is error free. Training has changed since I was hired but mine was 8 weeks. 4 weeks of book work, tests, and practical exercises and then 4 weeks of on- job-training. If you join the Facebook group you can ask the community there. Some of them have already been hired.
@@bulls9061 I am a refugee officer at USCIS now. I'm putting up a video on my job this week. TSA as a stepping stone....honestly it can be anything you want it to be. Either a stepping stone or as a permanent job, it just depends what skills you get from it and how you leverage it. After 8 years of active duty you have more than enough experience to get into a GS 9-12 position. Your "stepping stone" was your time in the military. You just have to know how to leverage your skills on paper in order to apply for jobs you qualify for. You have have the vet pref points which will give you the additional support. @@theTSAguy I will. I do have a question for you now- I sent in my eqip on 2/6. I forgot to enter the job information for a summer job in college, bartending at a minor baseball ballpark. I read online I can reach out to someone to get ahead of the investigator so its me bringing it to their attention, not vice versa. Any recommendations?
Reach out to the investigator and let them know. If they bring it up to you later just tell them you forgot, which is true. I worked 13 jobs in 2 years before working for TSA. I left off a lot of jobs because I made less than $600. The investigator spent another 3 hours with me adding to jobs to my application because apparently all jobs you get paid for are supposed to be listed even if you don’t file taxes on them. Either way it’s not the end of the world. They know it happens and that it’s not intentional
Yes, you will need to be a federal employee before you can get transit subsidies. You get a govt credit card that your local transit service charges automatically up to a certain dollar amount, then TSA will pay the statement on your government card. If you go over that subsidy, then it’s out of your pocket. Theres strict rules on how it all works so your local airport will explain it all to you.
Didn't know that 2021 was a recession. Also high amounts of debts aren't relevant to the jobs at tsa. I work for the tsa and have over 100k in both debts combined.
Yea debts are definitely not an issue, it’s only delinquent debts people need to worry about. Moral of the story is pay your bills and not incur more debt than you can handle.
I just got an email for airport assessment interview. I don't know if I'm going. I got a better job now, but TSA is federal job. Omg I don't know what to do..
Go to the interview and then decide what you want to do if you get a job offer. Yes...this is a Federal job but also look at what your long term goals are and if having a job at the TSA will help you get closer to your end goal. Getting a job at the TSA won't make it any easier to transfer to other agencies. This is a common misconception even I had. You will still need to put in the work to actively learn how to leverage your skills and the Federal hiring process. I took the job 10 years ago because I had no other options back then. Getting out was a struggle but I eventually did. Let me know if that helps. If you haven't subscribed already go ahead and do so. I help people get jobs in the Fed and leverage their skills to move into various parts of government either from the TSA or from the private sector.

You apply to both airports, when you complete the steps in the hiring process it'll count for both positions. When you get to the ready pool then you can accept one and turn down the other.
Yes, no problem. I made a video on how to write federal resumes. You should watch that, I use the TSA job posting as an example. If you need templates let me know. Email in the description box.
Yes, all of the paperwork will be emailed to you. For the E86 you'll get link that takes you to the OPM website to make an account and complete the application. I did a video on this where I talk about the basics. None of this has to be done in any particular order. Things have changed since covid.
Just depends on how fast local HR processes the paperwork sent to them. The people I have been coaching on interviews all found out within 1 week. They all passed, you'll be fine. I never met anyone who failed the interview. If you haven't subscribed to ahead and do so. I'll be doing videos on the Federal promotion process. Hello, I am curious about the 2week training in Georgia. Travel and accomodations specifically. What portion are you responsible for? What's the average out of pocket cost (if you're a non-drinker 😉) Thanks for the help!
All costs are paid by TSA. Only time you come out of pocket is if you leave the DHS campus. For non-drinker $5/day day will do you fine. That will be your per diem rate since you're living on campus. If you go off campus there's really good restaurants. You can take day trips to Savanah and Jacksonville. There's a FLETC bus that will take you for free.
Hello Fazle!! So I’m in the process of getting hire and I received an email from a hiring manager about interviewing me over the phone. What is that for? I thought everything was done in person… thank you in advance
Not done in person anymore for majority of the locations. Interviews will be done virtually or by phone. After the pandemic TSA had to adapt and find ways of contactless interviewing. It now saves them time and allows them to interview more people at a faster rate. So it’s normal, don’t worry.
Hey, So i’m a college student studying cybersecurity and I’ve applied for the position and just finished up completing my SF form. I just had a couple questions! One, since I applied for part time and I am a college student how does that work? Do i tell them what days i have class and they approve it or something else. How long are the typical work shifts? What if college comes in the way of going to the training facility? Last one sorry for all these questions. How does the pay work meaning starting pay and moving up or based on different airports and when do you get payed?
1. TSA management is willing to accommodate you as long as your airport has schedules available that fit your needs. If not then you will need to make your school schedule accommodate your work schedule. 2. You let management know what your schedule needs are and they will try to work with you. They will not make any promises, agency needs will come first. 3. Part-time work schedules are 25 hours a week with 2 days off. Full-time schedules are 40 hours a week with 2 days off. 4. If you school schedule conflicts with the FLETC training schedule then you can ask for a different FLETC date or you will need to move you school schedule around or take online classes for a semester. 5. Paid every 2 weeks like clock work. TSA will not hold any of your pay checks. Federal law prohibits that. Your pay is based on what pay grade you are hired at and your geographic location. The higher you are in pay grade the more you get paid. Final advice: Complete your degree and move on to other parts of government that have growth potential for you or move into private sector. I suggest following the money. If you haven't subscribed go ahead and do so. I'll have more videos coming once I am back state-side. Link to facebook group in the description box.
That will depend on how quickly you finish your medical and SF-86. Once you hit ready pool it could be a matter of days or months if you’re applying to a smaller airport. There’s a person in the Facebook group who is looking at immediate hire once his paperwork clears.
I don't know if anyone that failed training. It's the government they make sure everyone passes. The training is very easy, nothing too complicated. If you haven't subscribed already go ahead and do so. I'll have more videos coming

Just an update to your subscribers. So, I submitted my SF86 background a week ago and today, I got an email from TSA advising that I passed my background and I am in the ready pool. I didn't realized it was that fast. Is this generally this quick for background?
That’s insane, but I’m also happy they are getting faster with it. It’s never that fast but it sounds like TSA changed how they do Their BI now. Good luck and thanks for the update!
Might be both, if your still in your 20s, unmarried, few debts, no assets, arrests or kids. It’s done within 60-90 days. But with BIs my guess is as good as yours
Update! Last time I posted a message regarding passing my background within 10 days of submission and was place in the ready pool. Yes they are flexible to a certain extent. If the schedule you're looking to work is available they will happily accommodate. The only time there isn't any flexibility is when you go to training in GA. This also depends heavily on your management's policy and their willingness to work with you.
@@theTSAguy i have my structured interview in a few hours. I’m so nervous 😭 the HR employee mentioned that they are currently not doing the training in ATL due to covid. Everything is online now
@@theTSAguy another question I’m through application and it’s telling me “if I want to be considered for band d” what is that and should I say yes or no?
Some testing centers do take note of what you're wearing and I have heard of them reporting it to TSA/CBP/BOP/Air Marshal. Play it safe, don't go in shorts. So long pants, clean shirt, and clean shoes. Jeans are fine, but nothing with holes. Treat every thing like a job interview till you're fully hired. Back in 2009-11 they weren't as picky, so people got away with a lot. Around 2013 they got picky.
hello , my CBT exam on 29th of this month, so two more days.. but idk what to study and what to do, I m just so very nervous ,,please please please help me out to pass the exam , I want that job? please
The test will be simple reading and English comprehension test. It's equal to the type of exam you would take in high school. Its not hard at all. The x-ray exam is where people have a lot of trouble. You don't need any x-ray experience. Go to google images and search the term "x-ray baggage screening images". You will see several images of bags in an x-ray. Try to identify the objects in the bags. When looking at an x-ray image. divide the image into 4 squares, and try to identify the objects in each square. Some of the objects can cross over into other squares. The x-ray portion is also a test to see if you have red/green color blindness. If you haven't already subscribed go ahead and do so. I will have more videos about the TSA and Federal employment. Thanks for watching!!!!
Yes of course it is. Depending on the work-life balance you're looking for, you will have a set schedule for at least a year and then you can bid for a new schedule based on your seniority after that. You schedule will change every 1-18 months. You have 2 guaranteed days off a week and you get vacation time, plus all the other federal benefits. The job is low responsibility and you don't even have to take work home. If you can ignore all work place politics, do your job and go home...you'll be fine.
@@theTSAguy Thank you! I am in the hiring process. I am scheduled to take my test this coming Thursday. I search the website to my local airport and found the job closes 5/31/202. I wonder if they are attempting to hire quickly or if that is just the date they are accepting applications. My airport is small to compared to big cities. Most of my employment have been in Management and I am looking to have a job that the work stays there :).
This will depend on the airport you applied it. The larger the airport then the faster the process will move. There really i snot set timeline. If you haven't subscribed, go ahead and do so. I'll have more videos coming. There's a link to the Facebook group in the description box below.

Got it. The hiring manager of the airport notified me that NBIS said my SF86 was completed on January 18th, but he didn't really say I passed, so I'm just confused lol, and told me just to wait.
@theTSAguy copy that. I guess I just have to wait to see if it gets granted. Would I receive an email or a phone call? You think I would of gotten an email that it wasn't granted already?
@cesardominguez3552 they have to talk you by phone or on person before denying clearance. You have no reason to worry about a denied clearance…unless there’s something you don’t want gettin out. Otherwise, just chill and let the process play out.
The term “rent-a-cop” implies that these are employees supplied by a private security firm, aka a corporation. TSA employees are federalized. The U.S. government has a legal duty to protect its transportation systems and the traveling public. Instead of complaining to some random guy on TH-cam, find a solution and implement it. If you are so vexed by the legalities…you do have legal instruments available to you should you elect to employ them. Or…just buy a private jet.
@@theTSAguy I already have a solution, getting it implemented is the challenging part. If they really were interested in protecting the public, they would strengthen consumer protection laws, banning certain plastic products, improving cyber security protection across the board. You cannot do that by groping and harrassing passengers :)

Hello Fazle,
First of all, I want to thank you for posting this video.
Thanks
Thanks for liking the comment. Did you take a look at my questions by any chance?
lol yea I had an answer typed but I forgot to send it.
@@theTSAguy thanks very much for the response. I really appreciate it.
this was a funny and helpful video. thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for all the info I have a few questions.
@@theTSAguy thanks so much you’re very helpful!

@@theTSAguy like you I’m hoping it will open more doors for me! I currently work 2 security jobs unarmed in the morning and armed at night but contracted security has little room for growth and a lot of risk.

Just wanted to say & clarify that it is not true that anyone can pass the TSA medical, having a pulse is not enough, you need to pass the minimal requirements of eye sight & everything else. I qualified for everything but didn’t pass the medical because my eye prescription was old, so it’s not that easy.
You can always appeal that and will get overturned. There weren’t as many medical rejections when I applied. But my statement was an exaggeration.

Hey there, how long is probation? Credit check is before you get invited to the airport assessment? what happens if you fail the credit check?
Probation is 2 years if you’re part-time, 1 year if you’re full-time.
Credit check is done after you pass the CBT. It’s run simultaneously with your airport assessment.
If you fail then you are disqualified and need to go repair your credit before you can apply again.

Keep killing the debt as fast as you can or go into debt consolidation if you need to.

The only downside of TSA is the pay. Benefits are good
though.
In the private sector is great money! Most make more then any local PD around.
They did get a pay raise of about 30% this year. The reason many ( sch as myself) work at the TSA is simply to get in the door, gain some work experience, then move on to different jobs and other agencies. Very few stay long term.
👋 Does a person have to have security experience to be tsa?
I know you said seniority gets full time part. What about veterans? Would they be an exception to receive full time on their first time applying?
You don’t apply for the conversion, it’s automatically given to you. The only way your time in service will help you is if you. It back your military time.
@@theTSAguy what do you mean?
There’s no exceptions given to veterans as far as if you get hired full-time or part-time. The only way to get hired full time from the start is to apply to a full time position.
Hey buddy, do you happen to know what beginning pay is?
Pay is listed on the job posting. It’s specific to the location of where job is. The pay for Los Angeles will be different from the pay in Houston, for example…
So even tho the job posting said I’ll be hired at full time I’ll still be brought I. As part time
No, you will be hired according to the job posting.
Then you move to the "ready pool"

if you are a college student and is applying for TSA that is okay right? They will try to work with my schedule? I’m currently going to go for 2 days a week so far but I could change. How does that work
You have met your management know so that they can work around your schedule. Agency needs do come first, but they will work with you.
Do we still have to interview with investigators after your regular interview ?
Yes, your security interview is a separate from your job interview. Any time you apply for a job that requires a clearance.
Hey so I been notified to correct my OF-306 form but they don’t show me the mistake nor where to submit the form if I were to correct it. Do you know how to fix this issue or who I can contact?
That’s a glitch in the system, it usually resolves itself. Just contact the HR number and let them know.
How’s the Interview assessment for TSA ? I have one tomorrow morning
Do you have to a security guard experience for the job?
No, just high school diploma and color vision color vision are mandatory. 6 months work experience is helpful to pass the interview.

Ok. So im guessing that's good news. Should i be waiting for another email? its just another wait game again? @theTSAguy

Hi Fazle - great video Thanks! I have AA (Virtual) upcoming on 1-24; do you know how the Transerve benefit works?
Do medical bills count for debt on credit check?
As long as you stay current on your debts then you're fine.
I just applied. Any tips
I made another video on this called The Revolving Door

@@theTSAguy thank you so much for the response.
Happy to help
Hey, So i’m a college student studying cybersecurity and I’ve applied for the position and just finished up completing my SF form. I just had a couple questions! One, since I applied for part time and I am a college student how does that work? Do i tell them what days i have class and they approve it or something else. How long are the typical work shifts? What if college comes in the way of going to the training facility? Last one sorry for all these questions. How does the pay work meaning starting pay and moving up or based on different airports and when do you get payed?
Thank you!!!

Hi, I have my “assessment interview” this coming Wednesday. Assuming everything goes well, how long after that before I’m hired
That will depend on how quickly you finish your medical and SF-86. Once you hit ready pool it could be a matter of days or months if you’re applying to a smaller airport. There’s a person in the Facebook group who is looking at immediate hire once his paperwork clears.
My sf-86 has been done for quite some time. What’s involved with the medical?
And what can I expect with the airport assessment?
You’ll have a virtual interview which should be about 2 hours
Medical will be drug test, general health exam, vision test and color vision test
TSA on jobs training or during 2 weeks in Georga anyone not making it regarding test they provided?
I don't know if anyone that failed training. It's the government they make sure everyone passes. The training is very easy, nothing too complicated.
