Orvis cleaning pads are easy & convenient and I feel like that will attract more people towards cleaning their line. Similar can be done with home materials. I mostly fish small streams so I rarely clean past the first 25-30 feet of line. What do you think of this Rio?
Check out awsome way to clean fly fishing line on TH-cam! I came up with a way to clean your line and not get it tangled up . It works great! Been doing it for two years .
jonrfreeman Just saying, Jon. That is the best way to prolong the life of the line. The less you clean it, the less life it will have - kind of like shoes, I suppose!!
trey tolbert Sorry, Trey, somehow we totally missed your message. Upon loking at the ingredients of 409 it shows there is Alkyl C12-16 Dimethylbenzyl Ammonium Chloride inside. This will attack the Pthalaytes that keep the line limp and supple, and therefore the line will dry out and crack quicker than if you don't use 409. Hope that helps, RIO
Never cleaned my line in 10 years and had no problems but i think i will today before my fishing trip. Thanks for the video
What kind of line do you use?

That makes a lot of sense - just clean what you use and get dirty.
Can I just use alcohol and soft cloth to clean the line? Thanks!
