For more than 10 years PVC's environmental impact has been closely examined. PVC production, use and end-of-life operations are tightly controlled and thoroughly improved from 30 years ago. PVC production is now safe and environmentally friendly. More importantly, PVC allows fly line companies to make far more accurate taper and diameter changes and, therefore, much better casting and performance fly lines than other polymers.
buy new line, dont want soap or extraterrestrial scent lol you cant afford new line dont fly fish, and if you want I'll give you my old line try it out haa this type of crap will have you chasing fin after fin without a hook up THIS IS A COMEDIC VIDEO thanks 4 the laugh.!
Wow. I live in western Montana and have been fly fishing for about 40 years. At times the rivers can get pretty dirty. If I followed your advice, I'd be buying new line about 2 times per week. Properly cleaned line actually can feel better than new line....if you do it right.
You have a length of leader between you fly line and your fly. Fish aren’t going to smell your fly line regardless, if this was an issue there would be an issue with them smelling you in the flies. Extraterrestrial refers to “things” origination out with earth. You’re a clown
Tim Flagler narrating! I know that voice from anywhere!
If you put the line through the stripping guide it makes getting the line back on the reel quite a bit easier. Try it you might like it.
Going up to montana next month and my line is very dirty so thank you
Have a great trip to MT
Thank you

More importantly?? Not good for PR :o
I have 2 reels with old dirty line, they have been neglected for years. Would you suggest cleaning them or just buy new lines?
Without seeing them, would be hard to make a suggestion, but if they're years old, would probably just replace. Fly lines do have a shelf life.
Thanks, but after I performed step three someone stole my rod butt and reel .. Boy, I'll never do that outside again, it was expensive :~(

Ummm you should not be using PVC in the making of your fly line, right? Should be 100% pvc free?? Modern fly lines don't use pvc...

So I should just wipe it down with a cloth?

^True, the new Amplitude line by Scientific Anglers gets smoother as you use it.
