New sub, great video!!! No matter how many different lures/baits I purchase and fish with, a jig with soft plastic under a float is still my favorite way to fish ponds!!! It never gets old watching that float go under. I do a lot of ultralight pond fishing because my fishing time is limited and I do have a couple of ponds in my development so even when targeting bass, I always bring the ultralight for some panfishing if the bass are not biting, it is quickly becoming my favorite way to fish. In the winter/colder months or in stained water (I'm in North Carolina and our ponds are always stained - 2 foot or less of visibility) I have found that adding scent (using mainly Berkley Gulp products) definitely helps get more bites than not using them. Just tipping the jig with a Berkley crappie nibble or wax worm gets me way more bites than not using them. Worms I know are the best but I have so many different soft plastic panfish baits that I have to live to be about 400 years old before I can use them all LOL, so I might as well use them.

Speaking of bluegill, if you are an artificial bait fan, the Berkley Gilly is pretty cool. Has some great action but you have to rig it with the hook in the side of the bait.

@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher It’s actually a bluegill bait for catching bass but this video reminded me of it.

One fun day. Excellent. I wish to see more bank fishing. Specifically, is there a way to catch Lake trout from the bank in Watauga Lake?

Another whopper! I tried this technique same day as you with no luck. Did I hear you say only 20 feet beyond the planar boards do these are hooked pretty shallow? Also I have no planar boards but only have two rod holders set up on the back of my Tracker 175. What do you recommend for planar boards?

Yeah, so I use 4 feet of 20 pound floro carbon leader then a swivel followed by a rubber stopper or bead with a barrel weight. I have been using half ounce weights right now to get them about 10 to 15 feet deep in the water. I let out up to 20 feet and then attach the planner board. I highly recommend water bugz. That’s where I bought mine. If I were you I would try to run one with no weight out the back of the boat and then run another one with a barrel weigh 10 to 15 feet deep. For now. Recently I’ve been running my speed at .8 mph
