As you are leaving, Me and my buddy would just be arriving to hang lanterns from the bridge about 2feet from the water and wait for the bait fish to come around the light, Big crappie are always following the back fish , we fish about 2-5feet around the light and hit our limit each night. We catch 100’s of crappie each year at Lake Purdy. Plenty of snakes in the spring and early summer, so be careful! Good luck.
Fished lale purdy first time in my life Saturday from a boat ive heard about it all my life can't believe ive never fished there ive fished just about ever reservoir in a 100 mile radius in my life blows my mind ive never been there lol well I can say I have now!! I crappie fish only 90% of the time caught 1 little crappie 2 bass one was over 3 pounds crappie fishing go figure lol but very pretty lake I will go back soon 👍
If you stand on the other side and use bobber in the spring, you will slay some crappie over by the weeds. I never stand in the middle of the bridge. The biggest Crappie caught there a guy was standing on the bridge using a curly tail around 5 PM. I caught my PB on the Solar Bees.

I might at lake purdy for crappie in Feb mar and April. We use tuffies and jig. I’ve tore em up, slabs 1 1/2 lbs -2lbs. Got pictures
