    Couldnt figure out if I had to remove the skid in order to jackup the truck using that center point. Once again you came through, thx Bob

    Love your videos. Funny too. I tried to find the jack point for the front on my 2013 but it is covered by a skid plate.

      Right behind your front tires runs a thick black steel cross beam that runs side to side that attaches your left and right side frame beams. I normally use that intersection.

    Your videos helping me very much so far since I got my gx 2018 last Oct. Thank you Bob. Just 1 thing is remote control can't open automatic when I am outside around the car!!

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the 2014 and up, your car should be able to open up automatically once you pull on the door handles. It only works if you pull on the door handles and doesn't open if you're just in the perimeter of the car.

    I was literally planning on asking to do a video on how to lift the car properly and where to position the jack stands. This is very helpful...btw, how many ton are you using for the floor jack.

    • @GXBOB

      Sorry to say but its a 2 ton and was originally purchased for my Honda Civic daily driver. I will be purchasing the low profile aluminum 3 ton from harbor freight very soon.

    Hi bob! Thanks for you vids. Prado here. Gonna do this rotation when changing rear pads and discs. Also do you considering getting 12.3 inch android multimedia upgrade for your gx? I ordered same multimedia that looks like 2022 multimedia from gx 460 but for my 2015 prado. It also changes climate control vents position like in newer models.

      I haven't switched out my head unit because i haven't found anything i'm willing to spend that kind of money for, especially if its coming from Alibaba or something. I would totally test one out if a company threw me a head unit my direction.

    • @IIFaDedII
      @IIFaDedII ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GXBOB Yeah prices for head units on gx 460 versions are almost doubled compared to prado considering these units have same specs and harware. I paid 550$ for 128gb 6gb ram model with almost everything they had except 360 camera version that i dont need. I will update on its quality when i get in hands and installed.

    Hi GXBob, when you get new tires, do you recommend a wheel alignment as well, or is that just overkill recommendations?!? Thanks, Chris

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  ปีที่แล้ว

      if i change out all 4 then usually i skip the wheel alignment but most folks recommend it to get the full life use of your treads. I typically get a set of tires on the same axle removed and replaced at the same time so yeah i get an alignment for scenarios like that. 4 = no, less than 4 = yes

    I saw this video a couple of years ago. I want to ask you why you don't include the spare tire in your rotation. Or do you? I haven't put the spare in rotation but should I?

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I bought the truck, all 4 tires were brand new. The spare was worn. I can not put the spare tire into the rotation because of this. Your truck will veer to one Side while driving. Another reason is because I replace my tires in pairs of I get a flat. If the front driver side goes flat then I replace both driver and passenger regardless if the passenger is still good. I want even wear per axle.

    • @Nahhmah
      @Nahhmah 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GXBOB Do you think I should just keep my spare and not put it in rotation? My GX was new when bought, it now has 20k miles. It seems like a PIA to keep changing spare every 5k miles lol

    • @GXBOB

      nope, its a 2 ton originally purchased to work on my honda civic. It's time to replace it with something else. I've had it for a long time now. Here is the link to the floor jack i currently have. 2 ton low profile rapid pump.

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bb5op585 I’m looking for any floor jacks that have quick pump features. Because our trucks are so high up in the air as it is, i don’t want a lot of pumps just so my foot jack hits the vehicle frames. Also I’m mostly likely consider long reach one too. I believe harbor has both those options in one for jack model.

    If one of my standard lug nuts sets deeper than the others, does that mean that I broke it when I used my impact wrench? Or what?

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Duuuuuude. WTF. Your impact gun is used to drive your nuts into the wheel at a medium pace. Then the torque wrench takes over. My question is are you sure all 5 lugnuts are identical? If they're not OEM, then you may have a mixture of deep and shallow lug nuts (cars vs suv wheels). Second, how is that possible if you drove all your lug nuts in at the same time slowly so they all seat equally? Third, are you sure the holes in the wheel is centered with the stud? I would take them back out and VISUALLY recenter the wheel without relying on tightening my lug nuts to align my wheels on. Good luck man. I'm sure there is a simple fix to what you just did.

    • @doctorwgca

      @@GXBOB I didn't just do it. And it has been repeated more than once by other people (besides myself). Maybe it is a different lug nut? I don't think so, but I'll figure it out......

    • @sunilshrestha657
      @sunilshrestha657 ปีที่แล้ว

      3 ton would be very small for this truck, you can probably put on the rear under the diff, but I would definitely recommend 6 ton jack stand or probably long reach 3 ton might work if you can find one!

    My driveway is not level. Is it safe to put jack stand on a slope?

    • @e5toro7008
      @e5toro7008 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't.
      My driveway also has a slope, but it's also wide enough for me to park sideways near the top where it's more flat & level so I can safely jack up my vehicle.
      If you can't do that I would strongly advise bringing it down to street level and doing it there.

    • @GXBOB
      @GXBOB  ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on how much of an incline that slope is. Mine is very minimal. I put mine on jackstands all the time with parking blocks and e-brakes on. It works as long as the slope is slight.
