I think you can Block the bullshit line coming out of the back and Run the heater hose out of the front like on the earlier 4.2l f150s. I’m currently trying to figure out what all is needed to do the late model 07 intake swap on my 03 f150 it’d be really sweet if you could put together a video explaining how to make a throttle cable mount for the cable driven throttle body from the older 4.2l engines.

Ok so would the lower intake add power since say my lower intake it has 2 holes for each cylinder so would the free star intake add power ?

Yes watch my other videos "Introduction to v6 manifold swaps 1" to see how each intake system works. Thanks!

I expected to see "butterfly" type valves on the secondary runners that open at higher RPMs, but I don't see them in your knife edge ported manifold. Were they just not installed when you shot the video, or does the Freestar just not use them at all? Thanks in advance.

On freestar they do all have IMRC and work much more effective than mustang IMRC. Freestar lower intake split port design being an offset canal, not its own independant canal. I remove the IMRC butterflies to use a full size metal file to knife port the manifold and then reinsert the IMRC. The hand file ports 20x faster than a porting bit and only fits inside freestar lower intakes.

@@MustangV6TechSupport Thanks for the response. I'm getting a lot out of your postings. I have a very interesting application of the 3.8/4.2 family of engines I'm working on. One of the issues I need to solve is lowering the height (and improving the air/fuel flow) of the EFI system. I'm definitely getting some really good ideas from you.

I watched your videos and if what I am getting from this is correct with the right small modifications I can put a Windstar intake LOWER and UPPER off a 2001 freestar and run my stock hood ? I have to replace both exhaust manifolds anyways have never owned a mustang.. I have already dropped the k member and hoisted the engine to replace the darn oil pan as crazy as that sounds you have too.. I wanna do this swap everything else i am confident I can figure out I just would like to make sure I am understand what you are explaining.. thank you for your videos for real it means a lot to the small car guys who love information and content.

Freestar is 2004+ intake. The freestar proceeded the windstar split port intakes 96-2003. Yes you are correct the 04+ freestar and 99-03 windstar use upper and lower intake deck that only works together as one unit for both vehicles.
These fit under 01 cobra hoods, the alternate hood they put stock on some V6s

i hear Freestar i click quickly..lol i have a totalled 05 that i crashed in 2011, i plan on fixing it one day n modding it, has the 3.9L but would like to use the 4.2L, altho my v6 has 55k miles.. Do you know how much it can be bored out to??

I would keep it a 3.9 as 3.9 forged piston assembly can be recreated off shelf with 351w long rods and ls pistons. 4.2 is only better for NA and low boost as 3.9 has lower compression for high boost applications. Contact FB: New Edge Mustang V6 Tech Support for more info.
