I am ASTONISHED at how deep and candid Joe’s interviews are. Paul Stanley is a very bright person with his eyes open and his brain engaged. I only hope young (and not so young) musicians will hear the experience in these words, and will find a way to use them. Bravo Joe, and bravo Paul! 💜🦋😷
Those of us that saw our first KISS concert in the 70's would never have thought in a million years that we could watch and interact with Paul Stanley on something called youtube. Just wow! Thanks Joe.
Omg isn’t that the truth! I saw Kiss in 1976 I was 15 years old and it’s so crazy to see him just being so normal actually LoL but so freakin cool still after all these years. He’s a great guy and musician! Thank you so much Joe ❤️
Paul Stanley is a MASTER showman, businessman, and artist. If you’ve never seen KISS live, do yourself a favor and see the Maestro command the hearts of 20,000 people at a time.
Great interview , have always loved kiss since the 70s , great band and paul is my favorite rock singer , seen kiss 4 times all 4 were crazy awsome , kiss always delivers for there fans. Paul has always claimed drugs wasn't his thing, I think is so cool , and very important for all kids to hear, he is a true icon , a great hero, and role model and in rock that kind of rock star is very rare and what separates greatness from fame if that makes since , paul stanley is proof that rock isn't just sex drugs rock n roll, he is truly one of the greatest singers , song writers, guitarist , performers under the sun..
Thank you, Joe, for featuring one of the best ever to step on a world stage; an inspiration to millions for myriad positive reasons, the ever-gracious, insightful, one-of-a-kind Mr. Paul Stanley.
I suppose most people know a lot about Paul Stanley, the Kiss band, and their music, But this will be a new, exciting experience for me, Finding out what others already know...the times, music, and lives of the Kiss band members! Thank you, Joe! ❤️.¸¸.☆
I find He's a wonderful man Paul Stanley is a very interesting and loving man. Very open and honest. He knows so much in many areas. I love him as a person. He such a delicious man. Alway's want to hear what he has to say. Very personal and in-depth conversations
How refreshing to hear someone call “bs” on the whole self-serving “I have to play it different every night” many artists throw out. You can play it different any time you want… any time when people aren’t paying you to play it like they love it. Love your fans, respect the music, put yourself aside. Well done, Paul. Been a fan since the Alive album, saw the band in 77, and found a new respect for you today.
Growing up in the 70's, I have to confess Kiss was not part of my favorite bands, but definitely those guys have my most respect for their gratitude to their fans and their true commitment to deliver a top level show... ..No other band I seem, equals Kiss on that regard..... Thumbs up to Joe...Great interview!!..Is a learning experience when the host let the guest actually talk!!!!
Outstanding interview....Joe is an outstanding interviewer because he listens...listens intently...he does not talk over or cut off Paul as he answers....people should learn from this...it makes it more enjoyable to hear an interview where people are allowed to complete comments without being cut off mid sentence.....respect...well done brother 👍 53 year old lifelong Kiss fan here as well....I’ve had most of the albums...wore out Kiss alive and Destroyer in my early teens....still remember getting all of the solo albums from the members one Christmas...and just flat out think Paul is a bad ass front man dancing and singing in those high heel shoes...he is cool..sings great...plays guitar great...and fires people up....how can anyone not love and respect both of these guys. So glad I stumbled onto this👍
This was fantastic! I would have liked to learn more about his KISS years, but the years prior to and after were so interesting as well as his Phantom stint! These interviews are going to be classics and I hope you keep doing them Joe. Miss you buddy! (Don Bombace)
Wow! I am a huge KISS fan and it was a real treat to listen to Paul and Joe's words of wisdom about music and the music industry! I am a little sad we didn't get some vintage guitar talk considering the amazing collection Paul had in the 70's and 80's.

Nice to see you both talking. Paul is a legend and Joe is one of the best blues/rock artists around.
I have always been proud to be a Kiss fan and every time I catch an interview with Paul I am made even more so. Paul Stanley is one of my childhood heroes that has lived up to that title.
I am not a Kiss fan., but this is the second interview with Paul Stanley I’ve watched recently. He is surprisingly thoughtful, erudite, intelligent, and really interesting to listen to.
Absolutely fascinating and it shows what intelligence and depth there is behind successful careers. These guys didn't get where they are by accident and talent alone.
I saw KISS twice, and like many, I was a huge fan when I was in high school. Paul and Gene never get enough credit for how good some of those songs were. Great interview! Also, for those interested, Paul's autobiography is very good.
I'm 58, a 100 ton professional Captain, and had the chance a year ago to drive Paul and his family/entourage over to Sunset Key in Key West. I was inspired by Kiss to play music when I was 14. The Kiss Kruse Ship stopped here for the day. I asked Paul's runner if I was allowed to say hi and was told "NO." Just a smile and nod. They trusted me to drive him back and forth on a ship, but not to simply shake hands. And this was way before the virus. Sad.
I'm from the school of phonograph learning as well. I remember one summer I set up my record player by the window in my room I worked at a golf course so when I got home from work I noticed something different about my record that I left on the player. I had a one inch warp on the record that jumped the needle off the record. Just a horrible noise then nothing. I was able to play the last two songs but the first couple were no go. lol... That album btw was a brand new copy of FogHat rockin roll outlaws. One of my favorites to this day. I learned every song on it after I saved up enough to buy another copy. And yes I moved my record player away from the window. Back then I played an old Kay strat copy that was red with a maple neck. I don't know what ever happened to it but wish I still had it. Thanks you guys love story's about days past and how things came to be. 🎸🤓🎸🇺🇸☮
Having seen KISS and Joe B numerous times- Paul has such a broad knowledge of music and experience many of today's younger musicians should learn from. Two greats channeling great musical experiences and talent. Keep them coming Joe!!!
So many times I have listened to both of you talk, especially Paul, that I feel like I know you, it's weird. Joe, both of you guys bring class and showmanship to the stage, Icons in your own right, how does that feel? That had to feel great to have a friend like Paul sit and spend time with you on camera for all of us to enjoy also. I thought it was great the way you share what it's like to be a pro. Thanks for the show
The overwhelming point I’m taking away from this interview is how grateful Paul is for the success that he’s had and how much he feels like he owes his fans for it. No sense of entitlement here. He realizes he was blessed with a gift and sharing that with people to make their life better is so much more important than ego. So many entertainers should take a huge lesson from Paul about how to build a career that will outlive them.
You , just the "average joe by day", but Lord of the strings by night. I have been following you all of your career, have all your CD's, DVD's, T-shirts, and have watched you live. and also watched your many successes you've had. Buy, on your terms. That takes courage and good advisors / managing (you know who) and parents. The latter being the most important in my opinion. Now you have found another talent you didn't know you had. A true INTERVIEWER with the background to back up the subject. Thanks for your effort and like all your other endeavors this too will give you satisfaction and will also give joy to others. From the bottom of my heart, and my 74 strat for your putting the fire back in my belly to play again. As you know, the time when the guitar is in your hand for a couple of hours a night is the only happy time when your on the road. That leads to you wanting nothing to do with the musician's lifestyle in a hurry so, Thank You, Just an old picker that "knows one when he see's one". Take care a safe travels. :}
Great Interview.. Age wise.. I land just about in the middle of You & Paul.. I was a HUGE fan of Kiss in the mid 70's.. One of the things that I admire about you both..Is the Work Ethic .....You both have what you do because you have earned it....I have had pleasure of meeting you a few times out here in LA.. Great event Joe!!! Interviews with artists like Paul Stanley should be kept in the Library of US Congress. I don't know what to envy Paul Stnaley for...For being such a great artist or for being lucky enough to live in the greatest times for Rock'n'Roll...He had the chance to see live music giants like Hendrix, Zep, Humble Pie, Ottis Reading...
Joe, all of these interviews have been just great. You have brought out the inner personalities, character, and intelligence of your guests, and they are much more likeable than I expected. Also, you have a talent for this. You let them talk and the interaction is so positive. I hope you can keep doing this series.
Brothers, I was there when Rock and Brews with Gene, and Shannon and Wounded Warrior project opened the spot. Next time down from the 4th Corner I will be there my loyalest "unannoitted" circle of closest friends in tow. I had the privilege to briefly discuss radical Islam with Gene. His responses literally and simultaneously cemented my lifelong convictions regarding this. Shannon as well was an absolute pleasure to meet and chat with. She was 10s across all but volume about everything including her soft cast that she wore as a result of injuring her foot! KEVIN K (My OIF 1 team mate) and I are full on fans of both of you guys and KISS. I still have the R and B opening pics, if desired.
This is very impressive. I don’t feel I’m watching Joe “the guitarist” conducting an interview. You really, really are very good at interviews. It’s as if you’ve been doing this for years. The conversation just flows. There’s a proper amount of give and take. WOW!! This is something you could do and would be very successful at. Joe, you’re full of surprises. Good for you.👍
Joe you are a great interviewer and interviewee with you incite into the business, humble appreciation to music and tremendous flow of conversation and connection to guests....I heard one guy who said he wasn’t a particular fan of your music....had replied , I could listen to Joe talk all day long
I watched the video all the way through , I didn’t learn anything new about Paul Stanley , I’ve heard it all over and over ,but I have been learning a lot about Joe , and not only have I been a huge fan of all of joes music but he is obviously a very cool guy who knows his music ! I love these vids Joe !
Great Nerdville episode featuring two of my ABSOLUTE favorite performers!! Great, beyond great interview. Thanks for it Joe and keep up the fine work in all you do!
RUSH talked about how KISS taught them how to take care of business, and how to treat fellow musicians. Geddy Lee said that KISS always gave them a sound check, and that they were always solid with their live show, mindful of their fans snd their expectations.
Outstanding interview! As a KISS fan from their first record with Ace being the reason I begged my parents for an electric guitar, I really enjoyed this. I’ve been a huge fan of the Blues and Joe since I discovered his music many years ago and to watch these interviews has been great.
Just heard about this from Joe's Dad! Looking forward to it! Loved Kiss as kid. Saw them at the Utica Memorial Aud. April 13, 1976, two years after they formed.
Bet that was an amazing experience! However I have a slight correction. It would have been 3 years after they started. They were formed and started playing in 73. Kiss has always been my favorite group. I'm beyond jealous you got to see them back in the day. My first kiss show was 20 years ago and I've seen them 12 times since. All great shows but I can only imagine what it was like back then
Been a Kiss fan since Alive : ) Saw them in 79 and 96. Got to eat lunch (right time right place) with Gene, Peter, and Ace in 79. All were three were great. Got to briefly meet Joe at the Fox in Atlanta. He too was generous and out going. A woman I worked with (beautiful!) back in early 80s, she had spent some time with Paul after a show. She said he was a really nice guy, not pushy, not at all self-entitled, polite and intelligent. Not what she has expected from a "rock star".
Kind of ironic. This is giving my age away. The first time I kissed a girl(very nervously) kiss came on the radio. I said hey it's Kiss and she said ok. Thank you KISS!
That was great but it would of been better if you asked him more about his gear. You never really hear Paul talk about gear much. I have seen photo's of him with his sweet "Burst". Would of been great to hear him talk about it... Maybe in part 2... ;)
I LOVE all of these intimate interviews that you are doing, Joe! Please keep this up!! I look forward to seeing whom you are going to let your fans meet and get to know more about. THANKS SO MUCH! Your fan since I first heard you. I know you will continue to do well in all of your endeavors.
Brilliant! Saw KISS about 1979 in London with, and later without make-up... broken-hearted that cv19 cancelled their 25 July show in Johannesburg close to my home... hope they can re-schedule the tour!
I've played clubs steady for more than 50 years, and if there's a song i want to cover, i'll jump on TH-cam and find out how to play an intro or solo real quick, which is a great time-saver for putting together new material. ✌
I still remember my First KISS concert when I was in HS back in 75-77 A great show like no other. I still remember the story about Kiss playing on New Years Eve and opening up for ZZ Top ( I think it was them) and after ZZ Top was done the crowd was screaming for KISS too come back onstage. Talking about John 5's KISS collection & Gene Simmons is probably the only other person that has a more extensive collection.
That actually happened to lots of bands that took kiss on tour back in the day. So much so that getting them out on the road was tough because nobody wanted to follow them. Black Sabbath actually got run off the stage after kiss opened for them one night and after that night kiss was kicked off the tour.
The man behind the mask! I loved KISS from the first time I heard "Alive". Interesting little tid bit about the Destroyer album art. You could tell that still kind of bothers him to this day. Another great interview Joe! I really dig hearing the behinds the scenes stuff you just cant get any other way.
AMen to both of you -Joe and Paul, - It is so nice to hear an artist put what they do in context - When I go to see my favorite band - I am going to be entertained - I dont want to hear your politics, the news or any of that shit - in fact I am expecting you to transport me away from all of that and I apologize Joe - I have not had the pleasure of seeing you live - But I have been a fan of kiss since 1976 and I can assure you they have delivered on that every time I have gone to see them live. On that note - I don't want to belittle anyones opinions on the subjects I was referring to - I just wanted to make it clear - that is not the reason we fans came out to see you . Thank you Joe for doing these awesome interviews - I really do appreciate the candor and honesty in the discussions.

my first concert was Kiss on their Dynasty record so yes you are correct who would of thought back then and they took the makeup off.

That was great but it would of been better if you asked him more about his gear. You never really hear Paul talk about gear much. I have seen photo's of him with his sweet "Burst". Would of been great to hear him talk about it... Maybe in part 2... ;)
Joe,
I appreciate these interviews. Thanks for sharing them. 🤘🏻🎸
I LOVE all of these intimate interviews that you are doing, Joe! Please keep this up!! I look forward to seeing whom you are going to let your fans meet and get to know more about. THANKS SO MUCH! Your fan since I first heard you. I know you will continue to do well in all of your endeavors.
A couple of the coolest nerds I know of!
Love them or hate them KISS will give you your money's worth if you go see the live. They put on a great, fun show.
Paul is such a nice guy and extremely honest....paul is the kind of guy who won’t sugar coat the truth. Well done joe.
Thank you Joe. Incredible interview. Aloha🤙🏾
That was GREAT! Hated to see it end!
great interview, thank you so much
Thanks Joe and Paul.
Brilliant! Saw KISS about 1979 in London with, and later without make-up... broken-hearted that cv19 cancelled their 25 July show in Johannesburg close to my home... hope they can re-schedule the tour!
Loved this interview. Saw KISS last September and they were great!! Love to hear Paul's stories.
This is awesome! 2 of my idols setting down and having a good conversation. Thanks for making this happen Joe
Great interview thank you both!!
THIS will be interesting. Being a NY'er Joe's always been a KISS fan! \m/
Kiss is stopping to tour and they look like the friends of pennywise in the movie
@@rockyfanatic6846 Your POINT? There is 1 right?
I've played clubs steady for more than 50 years, and if there's a song i want to cover, i'll jump on TH-cam and find out how to play an intro or solo real quick, which is a great time-saver for putting together new material. ✌
2 of my favorites!!!! Awesome interview!!! Thanks
Absolutely loved it. Thanks for the great interview.
Phenomenal interview. Very genuine.
Wow I loved this! Great interview and it’s great to see Paul smile!
The man behind the mask! I loved KISS from the first time I heard "Alive". Interesting little tid bit about the Destroyer album art. You could tell that still kind of bothers him to this day.
Another great interview Joe! I really dig hearing the behinds the scenes stuff you just cant get any other way.
Long live Nerdville!
Loved this interview. I am a huge kiss fan. So are my kids and grandsons.
Great interview , very thoughtful and open
Paul gives the best interviews!
Joe and paul, thanks for the interview, a really good listen.
Thank you Joe for doing these awesome interviews - I really do appreciate the candor and honesty in the discussions.
wow, i loved this. Loved listening to this. You guys are awesome.
