Scott, you definitely know how to make a story come alive. I'd LOVE to listen to your stories all day long! Thanks for giving such a GREAT interview, and I'm looking forward to exploring your music further. Thank you, Joe, for all your superb work! We really enjoy these interviews! ❤️.¸¸.☆
WTG Joe.... Spreadin the love to all kinds of guitarists. Scott is a super cool guy, nice guy. I may not be a big fan of what his band does, but they are an excellent band at what they do and have my respect bigtime. Rock on Scott and Joe, great interview.
Probably one of my favorite live from Nerdville episodes. Its a great feeling just talking to someone about music that you both love .You can’t fake that shit.Rock on!!
As a fan of both of you guys, it brings me great joy to hear you talk and chop it up. Can’t wait to hear Joe on Scott’s Never Meet Your Hero’s. Joe, the metal world would great enjoy a JoeBo metal record!
I've never really been a fan of Anthrax, but I've always respected Scott Ian. Very down-to-earth guy, respectful to whomever he's talking to, just a great attitude. BTW, I was surprised when I heard that Mike Hickey was Joe's guitar tech. His hometown is about 30 minutes from where I live in Massachusetts.
Germany is amazing for the Hard Rock scene. My mate & I went on a coach from Brum to London then to Manheim. We're saw Ozzy then the headline band Scorpions. Amazing trip in 1986.
I enjoy these Nerdsville interviews. ..Paul Stanley was the only one ive seen , until this. Was huge Anthrax fan in the 80's. Best interview ive seen Scott Ian do. Great questions, great stories. Thumbs up to JOE!
I remember going to a Rock Club called Central Park in Burton Upon Trent. First time I heard Anthrax with half a pair of jeans head banging my head off....
I call it the Eve Bit The Apple moment, when i became aware. for me it was Rush Hemispheres at age 12. All of the sudden all these elements became apparent to me, particularly drums as a sorta lead instrument. So thats when i wanted to be a drummer for the 1st time, i wanna do THAT!
Every Friday night we'd leave the Midlands and go the Highwayman in Cheadle, England. One Friday I played pool against Cliff Burton. I had no idea who he was and when I told my mates they were going wild. I was ACDC, Deep Purple, Scorpions etc... My mates were really into this new stuff. The whole band were at the night club.
I have to admit I was never an Anthrax fan because I never listened to them. It was all Slayer and then black metal etc., I always saw him in the guitar mags end just never had a shred of interest. It wasn’t until about a year ago when I saw a clip of him playing with Mr.Bungle, I started to take notice of what a solid rhythm player he really is. Now I have nothing but total and complete respect. When the last question about the best band new metal band of the last 10 years came up, my immediate thought was Code Orange (there’s others of course), when he said Code Orange I almost fell off my seat. Great series you have going here Joe, respect to you and Ian.
Such interesting content and knowledge from Scott, great interview, loved the mentions of Angus & Malcolm plus the heavy punk bands like Discharge who were insanely fast and GBH, also Kerrang writers Malcolm Dome and Geoff Barton Great Look into Musicians Influences 😎
I think Scott and I are about the same age. Our music interest are very similar. I remember watching The Who the kids are alright when I was 7 or 8 and was amazed at what I saw and heard. Then I also got into Kiss. I too wanted and tried to be a rock guitarist but I don’t have the skill. I remember the early days of metal when I lived in LA. Some great bands!
Cool interview but would have been better if a pair of scissors appeared in Scott's screen n....CLIP! ha ha! Seriously, cool channel, love it, keep em coming.
It clicked for me when I heard the solo on Black Dog Originally wanted to be a drummer but that LZ 4 blew me away First rig Univox Les Paul and late 60s Fender Super Reverb w an MXR Dist plus Pretty good for starts Played all lead before I even learned chord's Cut my teeth on some great 70s music
Had a dram Scott Ian was at my house a few nights ago. He was showing us his new Jackson v and I finally got to play one and then we played volleyball with the neighbors lol.
Hello, if Epiphone USA would make the 339 I probably would buy it. Can't think of the current manufacturer of shore. I have USA les paul and Japanese LP copys. But a 339 built by Americans would be cool. Your idea is a good one.
I am always playing music for my daughters, 5 and 3, I try to introduce them to everything. Lol i am always worried they will like music from people who don't play actual instruments.
Does it have anything to do with how great of a musician he is? I don't know him, he won't be at my house, so what he does or doesn't do off stage is irrelevant to me as a music consumer. (Fan) Artists are weird, that is what sets them apart. Just listen to the music and enjoy.
I don't understand why Scott Ian is here, outside of relating stories of the 80s. Anthrax was little more than an ephemeral imagined "thrash band". Anthrasx is great, as an opening act, just like the Three Stooges were for shorts before the movie... As a kid from the 80s, I realize and understand exactly why Anthrax is pretty much the dead end of Arena Rock.. Anthrax and Scott Ian are exactly why the non-tribals ditched Anthrax for the Grunge. Black Lodge is their best song, and nothing takes away from it, but Ian is really ignored, and for good reason.
Wow. I love that Joe is interviewing Metal guys. I love Joe and Anthrax. This is awesome!
Agree!
I’m loving these shows. History captured for the ages. And Joe... listens. Novel concept. Keep em coming!
Joe you really ask good questions. And thanks for having a metal guy on.
Scott, you definitely know how to make a story come alive. I'd LOVE to listen to your stories all day long!

Scott's a terrific person. He always is so down to earth and honest.
These have been great, would love to hear him interview Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Alex Lifeson of Rush is a great guitar player. His chords works are equally as exciting as his leads.
Germany is amazing for the Hard Rock scene. My mate & I went on a coach from Brum to London then to Manheim. We're saw Ozzy then the headline band Scorpions. Amazing trip in 1986.
Love this interview!
But we are lucky to have you all right now and you guys are down to earth!

Another great one man!
Live From Nerdville ft. Kirk Hammett would be cool. He's a huge vintage guitar collector so those two would have a lot to talk about.
Really enjoyed this one!!

Nice interview with scott
Great interview Joe. Your interviewing prowess is approaching that of your guitar playing!
This is great, thanks guys. Ooh, but he teased it; I wanted to hear about the Surfcaster!
Great interview Joe
Please please have more “metal” guitarist on.
I'm all for that!!
Such interesting content and knowledge from Scott, great interview, loved the mentions of Angus & Malcolm plus the heavy punk bands like Discharge who were insanely fast and GBH, also Kerrang writers Malcolm Dome and Geoff Barton

Tosin Abasi of Animals would be a FANTASTIC interview (very smart and articulate guy and unreal player).
Had a dram Scott Ian was at my house a few nights ago. He was showing us his new Jackson v and I finally got to play one and then we played volleyball with the neighbors lol.

I love Venom, but Scott's probably thinking the same thing I am....'well, maybe not Venom at that time....'
Great episode 👍 Please, Kirk Hammet 🙂🎸
Awesome interview Joe, nice job. Have you thought of speaking to Wilko Johnson?
These nerds rock the same goggles
Wait so you’re telling me Kill ‘Em All was recorded in Rochester?
I'm gonna sit here and lay it down, as heavy as I can....( accept 93 to 2003 )

Would love to see you interview Alex Skolnick from Testament, an amazing shredder who is also a legit jazz guitarist.

Grampa Metal interviewed by Baby Blues... love it.
You are the Malcolm Young
Joe is a closet metal head!
👏👍🍀😎
Imagine Joe Bonamassa in a thrash metal band with his guitar playing chops and tone, that'd be some awesome unique stuff.
Joe how about Billy F. Gibbons for an epi? Would love to know why he has gone from the Les Paul to his Bolin Tele

Mark Tremonti, please. 🤘🏼
80s Metallica is the greatest heavy metal ever created. Those first 3 albums are the best metal of all time in my opinion.
I am always playing music for my daughters, 5 and 3, I try to introduce them to everything.
Lol i am always worried they will like music from people who don't play actual instruments.
Hey love the content joe. Really cool. If you know trey from phish that would be a great get
This is Homer Simpson's favorite interview.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐬
7 days a week they used to rehearse? I struggle to corral my guys once a week and even then they put minimal effort in
I'd like to hear Joe Bonamassa and David Gilmour colab on something in the studio.
Scott pretending like he doesn't know of Mike Hickey? please... I guarentee GoatReign is on his iPods hot yoga mix!
Didn't pete Townsend get caught looking at bad stuff oj the internet? Why does everyone forget? Maybe because its pete
Dig more into that. Not at all what you think.
@@thomasandersson9605 I did he tried to say he was writing a book...but only after he got caught
