    I owned the Superduke 2 years ago. I thought it was the best naked bike. Now I own the Aprilia and I know I was wrong. Although engine wise, both of them are beasts, the Aprilia wins because it's easier to handle ( lighter weight ) and much better when it comes to considering the electronic tweakings.

    Just purchased the 2020 KTM 1290 R, with only 800 kilometers will only go to 7000 rpm until first service. This bike pulls so hard, you better be hanging on for dear life. Never had V-twin always Kawasaki's inline 4s from early 1980. Yes I does vibrate, but find the sweet spot barely feel anything. Comfort, and this much power and torque I really enjoy riding this Beast, too bad sounds weak. Got Austin pipe on order can't wait get rid of that massive exhaust.

    I like that you compare the newest with the last favorite. Always like good yardsticks to really get a handle on what the newer machines got going for them.

    We need the new yamaha MT-10 vs the top supernakeds of the market: tuono 1100, bmw s1000r and superduke. basically a naked R1 so it should be interesting

    My 5 cent....
    The Ktm is very nimble and it feels as it has a very low centre of gravity compared to the Tuono v4. In my mind both the new Superduke and the mt09/fz09 feels kinda light and easy to ride as a street/naked bike. The touno v4 seems to much of a superbike, for me it wants to tip over on the side when standing still or riding slow. Feels like a home made "street fighter" instead of a proper naked bike with a chassis with geometry specifically made for naked bike like superduke and mt09 has. Simply adding a more upright handle bare is just cheap way of making a "new model" At higher speeds The tuono4 feels ok but as a naked streetbike it fails. I love the proper Rsv4 though.
    Coming from a gsxr 100k3, bandit 600, daytona 675, 05 zxr636 and my current one a nc35. but has tried about every sportbike there is expect the mv augusta brand and the bmw1000rr.. not to brag but to say that these bikes are what has formed my highly personal opinion :D

      I think the best performing naked bikes right now would be between the ebr 1190sx, bmw ?, & the Ducati ?, forgot the model names of the other two. Personally I want the fz07, just because you could have so much fun on that bike at such a low price!

    • @3BrosElectro
      @3BrosElectro 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pillokun Interesting analysis considering the fact that the majority of shootouts I've seen, favors the Tuono. I've owned a 2014 Tuono V4 for over a year now and don't experience any of what you mentioned. Feels incredibly stable (even at slow speeds), although I do agree that at first, the riding position feels a bit awkward due to the fact that the foot pegs are higher up, which I'm assuming is why you stated that it feels more like a superbike (which it is, just a naked one). The high and wide handle bars makes it a bit more of a challenge leaning through a turn, but I've never found it to be a major hindrance. The boost of low end torque makes the Tuono an absolute beast on the streets and twisties, and incredibly fun to ride. To each their own really, but in my opinion, the Tuono is a symphony of great technology and the V4 engine is unlike any other. Full of character and buttery smooth on power delivery.

    Hi,
    That was a great review guys...
    Coming from the UK and being used to review show's such as Top Gear and 5th Gear you present really well!
    I really like the fact you aren't loud mouths, it's always nice when presenters are more concerned about showing the product their showcasing than how they come across...
    Doing it that way allows you to come across naturally...
    I thought the little breakfast segment was a nice touch.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @REM44MAG
      @REM44MAG 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The KTM has a good powerband for wheelies. But both bikes are awful heavy... If your asking because you want to learn wheelies, learn on a dirt bike.

    • @onoff314
      @onoff314 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What's the displacement got to do with it? look at the torque and power curves of both of the bikes. The only limiting factor with any bike over 600cc's is not lifting up the front wheel in the first 70mph or so, thus why the honda cbr600rr has the same 1/.4 mile as these bikes.

    • @BurningPXG
      @BurningPXG 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Onoff314
      Superduke has less cylinders and higher displacement. The V2 engine configuration is projected so the engine reaches it maximum torque at lower RPMs compared to other engines like inline 4 (maximum endspeed and horsepower) or the v4 (more mid-range power and smoothness throughout a wide RPM range). The displacement dictates the general performance of the engine. An engine that burns 1,3 liter of air/gas mixture generates clearly more power comparing to an engine that burns 1 liter of the same air/gas mixture, this difference is shown either as higher torque, higher horsepower or both depending on the engine configuration (number of cylinders, order of combustion, valve timing, etc)
      motorcycle.com.vsassets.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/2014-Ultimate-Streetfighter-Smackdown-Finale-HP-Torque-Dyno.jpg
      In the chart you can see that KTM reaches a maximum torque of 96,5 ft-lb at 8200 RPM and the tuono reaches its maximum torque of 73,4 ft-lb at 9500 RPM. Thats why its not a fair comparison.
      The racetrack would be much better since it would compare both bikes qualities and test them against each other. The sheer power of the KTM against the balance and maneuverability of the Tuono in a mix of curves and straights. I dont think that there would be too much of a difference between the lap times.
