I own a Mirai and really love it. However what is Toyota doing about majorly improving the Fuel Cell Station Infrastructure? We so far have 3 in Sacramento CA with 1 down indefinitely. This really really sucks since lines can be very long. So even if fueling takes about 5 minutes or so however the line is 12 cars.... over an hour wait. Need to seriously address Fuel Cell Station Infrastructure. Be nice if each gas station/Costco also have a couple of Hydrogen Fueling pumps.

Hydrogen power will be the way to go for large trucks, those trucks will need more power than any electric power can give it. So, hydrogen power has the power for any large trucks with a heavy payload. Electric power for cars and hydrogen power for trucks.

Hydrogen today is extracted from methane using a steam reformation process. It produces lots of CO2 as a byproduct. Green hydrogen produced using water with electrolysis and powered by renewable electricity is possible, but incredibly energy inefficient. The renewable electricity is far efficient used directly to charge BEVs. A electricity distribution is already available in every home. Hydrogen would need a whole new distribution network. Toyota are just wasting their money and endangering their future.

Toyota is late to the electric revolution and desperate remain viable as a car company. Gas cars are on the way out ... the handwriting is on the wall. Gas hybrids have some value for now, but are basically gas cars with a small battery and will not stand up to the electric future. Hydrogen cars are expensive to manufacture, expensive to repair, under powered, and require an infrastructure that currently does not exist. AND ... owners will be slaves to buying hydrogen forever and ever. Why would I consider a hydrogen vehicle when I could own an electric vehicle that can be charged at home from solar panels for my day to day driving and buy electricity cheaper than hydrogen when I travel (from an already existing infrastructure).
No ... hydrogen is Toyota's last gasp and unless the government forces that technology down our throats, it is doomed to fail. My advice to Toyota: figure out how to build a compelling electric car ASAP ... yesterday would be better. Adapt or die. I'm just the messenger.
