That ending was really touching. It hit me a bit when you were talking about the adventures you two would have. I can tell your dad was your hero and best friend. I'm so sorry that you lost him years ago. It's great that you have all these memories captured on film and in your mind. As for Indiana Jones, I have a confession to make. I've never seen an Indiana Jones movie in my life. I may do a binge this weekend and watch them all, but it's just a franchise I've never got around to watching. We will see if that changes this weekend. Great video as always Tyler and remember that you're dad is watching you. I'm sure he's proud of the man you've become.

What a priceless trove of archived footage your father left you to build this content with. Very few people had the equipment, the knowledge, the interest and most importantly the foresight to document such great memories as extensively as he did. And with this archive you have the ability to tell the story of a really cool dad who loved his family and help us all relive our own memories in our own way in the process. You should be proud.

You describing the way you played with your dad... god I'm in tears.
Even as a sixteen year old I just remember the way me and my dad would go out on walks in the spooky forest (what i called this small forest near an elementary school) and we'd play it like this weird fantasy Scooby-Doo adventure cause that was the kid I was. Or just how we played our copy of Lego Star Wars tell it broke and we had to buy a new one (I still own that broken copy).
I love my dad... its weird cause I actually finally watched the Indy movies in the past two days. I finished Last Crusade an hour ago. I was three back then and I loved playing with him. I'm sixteen now and I love all the memories with him I still get to make. I watched Deadpool with this man, I use a story about him as an ice breaker (at the camp he met my mom he made a bunch of kids worship a toaster), he held me when I cried during the Last Of Us show recently.
Thank you for putting this up, genuinely. What your doing is amazing.

Tyler, I share the same emotion. My dad and I were huge fans of the movie. My dad looked a lot like Indiana Jones to me and I forever correlate that movie franchise with him. I was born 1981 and he sadly passed in 1999. So I feel your heart on this one man ❤

Whenever I see your videos I get slightly jealous because my childhood was NES/SNES/GameBoy games all along, especially together with my cousin (we bonded a lot over video games) - but there's literally NO recording of those times, so it's all just memories in my head.
However, I LOVE to see your videos because they remind me so much of those good times, how our granny gifted us so many video games and how often I played them while being on holiday at her place or on the weekends when we were visiting her. Until I got my own NES - and then later on my own SNES. So I'm really thankful for your channel, because it keeps those memories alive and whenever I have a bad day, your videos make me smile a lot.
Whenever you talk about your dad, it's really touching, one can feel the love you hold for him and your family in general. And that's so beautiful. Thank you for showing us these videos. I (and probably a lot others here as well) appreciate them a lot.
    Take care

Man, this one hits. Your Dad was an amazing dad. I wish I could say I had memories like this with my Dad, but he wasn't around much. So the one to make those memories was my mom. I remember she and I dressed up like Safari explorers to go see Last Crusade...our own little version of cosplay before that was a real thing. My mom and my uncle formed a mass majority of my fondest memories.

I remember my Step Dad buying me a gaming console every year, I got the Gameboy, Nes, Snes, N64, SEGA SATURN. etc growing up in the 80s and 90s where the best generation. Kids now days won't ever experience the blowing into a Nintendo Entertainment Cartridge a couple of times just to get it working..
Tyler thanks for providing us with all this content, It truly is a trip down memory lane. I loved Captain America and the Avengers in the Arcades, so when I learned there was an SNES port, I begged my Mom to put on it Layaway for me.
Months go by, I save my allowance, I get it home....and everything just felt off. When you knocked enemies down, they received invincibility frames...but you didn't. The music was botched, it was nigh impossible to play without cheesing through it, I was heartbroken.
Then I go to my buddy Andrew's house, and he has the Genesis port, and that's when I learned that SOMETIMES Genesis did do it better.

Keep em coming. Being from Amityville myself, your family reminds me of my family without all the criminal and sociopathic elements, lol. Thank God, my parents were upstanding people. And we also moved to Texas when I was 10. But we went back all the time! So seeing your videos brings me back big time to going back every holiday and to stay on the sailboat we kept in NY so we could spend summers at the beaches of the south shore, mainly Ceder Beach and Fire Island which your family may have gone to also??? Your father was a very special man. You can tell he could feel your joy, and it made him the happiest when he made that happen.

I had a similar reaction with an action figure. I wanted a Heman figure so bad and my grandfather showed up with what he thought was a Heman figure. It was a knockoff figure from a line called Sun Warriors or something like that. Of course in my little 4-5 year old mind I was disappointed and solemnly blurted out, "This isn't Heman". My grandfather wasn't insulted at all, he thought he had gotten Heman, so he doubled his efforts and went back out on another day. Then one day while at home he showed up at the house and surprised me with Battle Armor Heman! I was beyond excited. We were a rather low income family so getting gifts was a rarity, so I was floored when my grandfather did that. Now 40 years later, Battle Armor Heman has joined many other plastic heroes in the great beyond, but I still have my Sun Warrior figure my grandfather thought was Heman all those years ago! He passed back in 94 and my daughter passed at the age of 11 in 2019. I now sit back with a smile on my face and picture him and her in Heaven doing all the things he used to do with me. He was honestly my father figure, and now my daughter gets to enjoy his company like I did. Thanks Tyler for sharing your awesome memory!

Wow. very touching video not a dry eye in the house. ToD was also my fave, the year it came out I was 8 and my mom and I took a trip by bus to visit my Grandpa in Texas. The environment there really fueled my ToD fantasies; I thought I was in another country! I remember we crossed the border and my mom surprised me with a leather bullwhip. I used it so much it began to come undone by the time we returned to Illinois. During that trip we went to a wedding where not only did I wear the whip on my belt but my Gramps loaned me his grey Stetson hat. It was a bit too big but I didn't care, I had a blast imagining my short fat brown self as this tall, muscular charming hero. That was probably the single best summer I've ever had.

When I was 6 or 7, for Christmas, my mom’s friend (who had absolutely no obligation to buy gifts for my huge family when she had two kids of her own) gave me a Lego set. My response… “You gave me the same one last year!” got lots of laughs. A few years later, my uncle who lived in Hawaii and rarely made visits to NY but knew I played piano and was into music, got me the hottest CD at the time, Boys II Men. I remember opening it Xmas morning and I had one game apart from the bundle Mario/Duck Hunt wrapped under the tree. I opened it and it was Golgo 13:Top Secret Episode' and I believe my reaction must've been very similar to yours. I remember my mom going 'well, there were so many games at the store and this one looked really neat and full of explosions you would like!' I of course thanked her and gave her a big kiss. This reminds you of getting FIFA 2002 instead of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on GC from Japan right after Christmas in 2001. You sent it back and got the Sonic one eventually.

I miss my dad all the time, it's especially hard on father's day and his birthday. We had some good times but he was an alcoholic and died when I was 16. For all his faults he was still my dad. Damn we all gotta go at some point and leave behind the people we love and this video although fun made me think about the time I spend with my daughter now.

This happened to me on my 8 year birthday, my cousin who loved football gave me 10 yard fight….I not even like football 🏈 so it was more for him to play on my NES… but he did it out of the goodness of his heart 😊

My own Indiana Jones would be A Boy and His Blob. I remember my brother and I were visiting our Baba and Gedo in Winnipeg, and he was going to the video store. I decided to give him the opportunity to go alone and what does he come back with? A Boy and his Blob. Bloody A Boy and His Blob lol.

I LOVED your reaction Tyler! 😂 I experienced the same thing when my older brother(10 years older than me) got me 720 on NES for my bday and my response was “What is it? 🤨” after everyone laughed my brother was like “It’s a skateboard game” 😂 Yeah that game wasn’t very good, it’s really the only game I’ve ever completely quit due to frustrating difficulty. I even had friends ask “can I play it?” I said “you can, but it isn’t any good.” I appreciated my brother with the effort and the thought because he knew how much I loved video games. 😊
Honest question, has your daughter ever had a reaction like the one in this Video Tyler?? 😊 I’m super curious.

My mom got me Mario is Missing for the Snes when I was 10 for Christmas. It was a "Mario Game" and all. I felt so guilty for my reaction, I tried to act happy but she saw through it. I did end up beating it and learning stuff, so there's that.

My parents went out of their way to make sure that I didn't miss out on any games I was looking forward to, but there was one instance where my mother bought a game that I just didn't like, and that was ET on the Gameboy Advance. I believe a rerelease of the movie had come out and of coarse there was a game to go alongside it, this was during a time when movie games were all over the place. I tried to play it and have a positive attitude about it, but it wasn't a very fun game compared to other GBA games I had. I made it clear I wasn't happy about it to my mother, which now I feel bad about because she got it thinking I'd enjoy it. I feel that was the only time I had such a disappointed feeling when getting a game for whatever the occasion was, but I'm also grateful that there wasn't any repeats of the instance.
