    If someone could rig this up ad an augmented reality program, and sell everything in a kit at a reasonable price, this would be the ultimate way to train.
    Imagine being able to slap a pair of glasses on, walk around your home so the software can generate a map of it, and be able to run through different scenarios like home invasion, hostage situation, home invasion while you're asleep, etc.

    I am an SSO (School Safety Officer) responsible for guarding an elementary school in my county. We get 2 days a year of training and a day of that is simply qualifications on the range, which some have problems qualifying. The second day is admin. We get zero scenario or force on force training. Something like this would be invaluable for what we do. Sadly, it always ends up being about money and the people writing the checks have zero interest spending money on something like this until something happens in a school and fingers start getting pointed. Really cool system.

      This would be a major advantage for you guys. It’s great to hear that you take it seriously but it’s unfortunate that those who make the decisions aren’t taking it as seriously as you are. Is there someone you could bring this up to? Maybe getting someone’s ear for a few minutes could change their thought on the needed training. This one thing could be a deciding factor in whether or not a mass casualty event happens or it’s stopped by those of you who are trained for that exact scenario. Good luck! I hope you get everything you need for proper advanced training. It would be in their best interest and yours. Another possibility would be the creators of this tech lending the equipment to you guys and using that as advertisement for other potential schools that may be interested. They could record it and market it towards school’s resource officers and school boards. One full set up for multiple officers could be shared and used at every school within the district. Which is a major plus in my opinion, since it would save money being shared. Again, good luck and keep up the great work. You’re doing something that is honorable and keeping the next generation safe, who would otherwise be helpless without you. Thank you.

    In the simulation training industry, this is what’s known as reductive training. Training that requires equipment that won’t be present and develops habits that will either be useless or detrimental in the real world application.
    It’s why aircraft simulators are still small apartments on complex hydraulic platforms, not a Valve Index and a chair with a rumble pack.
    And before anyone says it, no these aren’t analogous to nods or other head gear that might be used in these applications. Different shape, different function.

    • @Michael-uc2pn
      @Michael-uc2pn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually this this type of simulator is used by the military to give people a basic intro to the task before the more expensive/resource intensive main event, these systems cost more up front but are way cheaper over time than millions of rounds of ammo. Also it sure beats setting up strings with sticks on the ground to represent walls and learning room clearing that way, which is what most units do. Basically this is better than nothing, the next level is an actual shoothouse with blanks or live ammo.

      AR (Augmented reality), not VR...but yeah, that's basically what it is 😊👍🏻 there is a game on playstation VR called firewall zero hour - you can play it with a controller that simulates the shape of a rifle and on the VR headset will also look like one. The aiming is done via virtual ironsights or red dots. The movement on the maps of course is done by analog sticks but the aiming is done by using the controller as you would use a real gun to aim. The game is awesome and really fun and definitely has some training value when it comes to quick target acquisition and tactical movement in cqb scenarios...the only downsides are, that the movement tracking of the gun unfortunately isn't flawless and sometimes you gotta recalibrate in mid match. But i'm sure PSVR2 will do a way better job at this since computer hardware and software are constantly improving. The stuff in the video is definitely next level though 😃 i can't wait for this system to become available for entertainment gaming purposes for the public😃! Also - no need to pre-map combat environments: if AI progresses with the current speed it'll be possible to run AI software that will recognise obstacles, corners, windows and other objects that can be used as cover in real time and just randomly put enemies behind them as you go. A quick glance at your surroundings at the beginning of a match should suffice for the AI to map out potential enemy positions and simulate them during the match. So you could basically go out for a stroll in the city, take your system with you in a backpack, slap it on once you feel like and play this shit in a real time urban environment 🤩🤩 or in the woods...or in whatever buildings 🤷🏻‍♂️ i really hope something like that will exist some day for the public - it would be THE ULTIMATE ego-shooter game 😃😃 even better than airsoft cause you can play independently from other people👍🏻...hope i'll see the day 😁

Another game that I just started playing is Ghosts of Tabor. Anyways thanks for explaining that to me and in the future, we'll definitely see something wild with VR headsets or AR. What you describe concerning the H3VR sounds really awesome 😃🤩👍🏻 i'd love to try it out for myself once i graduate my studies and finally get some money to spare on nice gadgets like that 😃👍🏻 i also think VR/AR in combination with advanced AI is the future of gaming - even in only traditional games on screen: imagine an RPG (like for example the witcher 3) but all the NPC-conversations are run by large language model AIs like ChatGPT where you can actually talk to them in real time using a headset or type whatever you like on a keyboard😯😯😯 that will be soooo freakin' awesome 🤩🤩🤩...and i'm sure it's bound to happen even probably within the next 10 years 😃 the AR/VR thing will probably take a little longer but i'm sure we'll get there eventually 😃 what a time to be alive, huh 🤩? Just gotta make it 30 to 40 more years staying alive and i'm sure we're bound to see some crazy developements in society, economics, tech, gaming and basically everyday life, all fueled by the emergence of AI and VR/AR technology 😃👍🏻

    • @Aerowolfofficial
      @Aerowolfofficial ปีที่แล้ว

      @mugen jin H3VR is a bit of a silly game in a sense 😅 The biggest issue in that game; theres no real soldier models. You basically shoot tactical hotdogs trying to kill you. The firearm aspect is extremely realistic and onpoint. Firearm manipulation, sounds, recoil, etc. Its very very realistic. The enemies are not.
      The game I HIGHLY recommend trying whenever you are able to get a headset is Ghosts of Tabor. Check out my other channel TACWolf on TH-cam. I uploaded 2 videos recently of the game. Extremely fun and immersive, but its only a playtest for now.
      Quest 2 is apart of Oculus, yes. The fascinating part about the Quest 2 is that it has camera's built into the headset. With the headset, theres a game that allows you to use those cameras around your house in real life. You create basically a map of every room by walking around and using your controllers to scan and create virtual walls. Once you finish, all you see theough your headset is your own home. You pickup a virtual firearm and shoot zombies or other enemy types. Its cool 😎 I never tried it. I have an Oculus Rift 2 so I cant do that stuff unfortunately.
      There is a lot of tech we have now. Basically what you talked about, we already have. Its just in a beta phase I would say. Nothing is a complete product yet.

Im sure if real bullets were flying he would have took his time and cleared most of the room from the doorway and not penetrated the threshold with the tip of his rifle. Im by far no expert on CQB but I’ve spent thousands of dollars and dozens of hours at training courses learning how to do this and not die and get your #2 guy killed and i even cringed when i seen the way he attacked that doorway so i know that Mike Glover & the guy at GBRS Group we’re feeling super cringe 😂

      You can actually buy vr games and get a pretty good experience. You don't have the real gun but you can get a remote holder that will give you the general size. Movement and whatnot are clunky because it's all in VR but you can still implement tactics against real life people. It's like the more jank but accessible version of this.

      Some people like to put their weapon on safe while they move quickly in case they fall and their finger slips to the trigger. Similar to reloading, you can only do one thing at a time. If you reload, you take cover. If you're running without a target in sight, put your safety on.

    Is it neat? Yes. Is it even close to what you need for CQB? No.
    For private sector and home defense, possibly. For military and law enforcement You will have additional gear that you must take into account You will have the sounds and the smells that will be drastically different. On top of that there is also the pain and the endurance part of having to wear gear and move through areas in a raw environment rather than air conditioning. And having the pain of sim rounds Definitely brings a bit of clarity versus a virtual world.
    Though I would like to see how they do reloading and malfunction checks in these virtual environments.
