    Dear Nate The Hoof Guy,
The other day I managed to get a splinter in the sole of my right foot from walking out onto our wooden deck without shoes, and it's been hurting a bit. I already removed the splinter, and I cut away the loose skin surrounding the puncture site, but it doesn't look like it punched all the way through to the corium layer, thank goodness.
My question is, given that I'm an indoor human and I generally walk on carpet, do you think this needs a salicylic acid wrap, or can I just leave it to heal on its own? And is there a specific kind of glue I should use to attach the block to my other foot, or will regular 5-minute epoxy do the trick?
Thanks, and I love your videos! I always learn so much 🤣

Been watching your channel forever and it’s amazing how much you’ve perfected awkward camera angles with your awesome knife skills; better quality cameras/lenses resulting in those crazy close-ups, you really are #1 with your great hoof repair going hand-in-hand with your concern for cow comfort. Your video’s format & editing has been a steady progression of skill & style without sacrificing even minute or a iota of your excellent hoof care. I think 🤔, - although I have no experience in any video skill but I am a pretty decent photographer, even before it became digital & computerized- it must take a fair amount of your time at home to produce the videos and maintain your channel, I hope you can reap enough financial reward for your hard work that you so richly deserve on so many levels. I hate that this comment has become so flowery (I wouldn’t want it to go to head! 😉) but I am sincere & mean every word.

Great work .. I cant wait to get back to shooting pigeons again but im having major leg surgery so thats a way off, i guess ill be looking at all your videos..while my bone graft heals..

All the hoof he pares away is already dead tissue. The only living part is the corium which he does clean up and goes to great effort to not cut into. It’s less like having a muddy wound and more like having muddy clothes on over a wound - would you want the doctor to try to launder the clothes while they were still on you or would you want them to cut the clothes away and then clean the wound itself?
