Like a still shot of how the cow is standing on the hoof before you work on it, then fade to a still shot of her standing on the same hoof when you're finished to show the difference in how they carry the weight? This is a great question. I grew up with cattle and we never had this. We used to graze them. Let them off in the morning and bring them back in the afternoon. I think the nature took care of the hooves while walking the whole day.

    • @jeremy8223
      @jeremy8223 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nate explained this in another video i think. The cows will naturally trim themselves if they live in more natural conditions because the out part of the hooves get dry and fall off. However for these cows because they arent out in the pasture much they require hoof trimming to stay healthy.
      At least I’m pretty sure thats what he said don’t quote me

    • @ladyabaxa
      @ladyabaxa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@jeremy8223 If my memory is correct he explained it is due to a cycle of the hoof absorbing moisture then drying out which over time causes the old horn to separate and shed to be replaced by the new horn growing from the base.

    No "ALRIGHT GUYS SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON, OBLITERATE THAT SUB BUTTON, DEMOLISH THE SHARE AND ANNIHILATE THAT BELL!"
    Simple video. Simple guy. It's almost therapeutic to set aside 8-10 minutes to just watch this guy do his thing.
    Plus living in Tennessee, I really hope one day I can just walk up to one of my farmer buddies and blow their minds when I say "hey it looks like your cows got a rock ledged between her toe. Got any salicylic acid handy?" 🤣

    Thank you for taking the time to make these videos in addition to all the trimming work itself! Also, have to say your cautious care for these animals is without equal among every other to be seen on TH-cam. Although others may work a bit faster, we never need to cringe for the animal through the whole process, thank you. Subscribed

    Nate, I notice how hard it seems to trim with the knife. It looks like one would have to have extremely strong hands and arms. How do you keep your shoulders, arms, and hands limber to trim a boatload of cows every day? I certainly do appreciate and respect what you do for our beautiful bovines!!! Thank you!!!! 💚🐄🐮💚
