It's impressive to see how careful you are when trimming. I've watched a couple of other hoof trimmers and they always seem so sloppy, the hoofs always bleed a lot. I've only seen one video where you cut a girl and that's because she moved abruptly. Thank you for your amazing work!

My friend used to farm a dairy herd and they always had regular trims. The bulk of the time they didn't have any problems at all. You convey that reality with your gentle videos.

I find it amazing how your hooked knife technic makes you able to remove all the horn without touching the coreum. I watch other very good trimmers, but no one is able to trim without a single drop of blood like you do.

In reality cows are not like dogs and should be respected for their unpredictability. A cow/bovine is the most powerful of farm animals easily exceeding the strength of a horse.
If you think a dog and a bovine are equivalent, your dad is a very wise man not to get you a cow. Best way to convince your parents: show that you understand a 1000 pound heifer is not the same as a 40 pound Labrador. Otherwise that 1000 pound cow is going to run you over like a Steven Curtis Chapman child.

@@Bonde7280 I actually grew up on a cattle ranch and can assure you that oxen/cattle are more powerful pound for pound than horses. I recommend you google it for verification. Horses may be quicker and more athletic than oxen, but for pure brute strength the oxen are superior.

I was really surprised by the size difference of her claws! Is that due to her corkscrewing, or does it have to do with the breed, age, etc? Most cow hooves I’ve seen you take care of seem to be much more evenly sized.

Yihaaa! Lol! 😁 Looked like she had a blast 😁😁 Nate, may I say that you are just Great? I always found it difficult to see the hoof in certain point of view of the lesion that were discussed and showed, why? Because every hooftrimmer shows the hoof mostly (say 90%, it is 'just a indication' ) from one angle, from directly on top.. But, now you showed the hoof also via the side view and that made me say YESSS out loud!! 😁 That way we can see depths! And that is so hard, if not impossible, to see from the on top view. So, know that it is Hugely appreciated that you took the camera from the spot it hangs (right in your way already to give us that front row seat 😉 ) and you oftentimes already show us a wound, or whatever else is wrong, more closely and now you gave us the perfect view!! Thank You!! Now I could really see the depth, the thickness of the sole, in other words.. the perfect view 👌👌👌 I hope that this Lady will heal up soon so that her milk production will be 100% of her ability 😊

I have already written that your delicacy and precision that you put into your work towards cattle with pain is admirable. However, I claim a good cleaning of the sewage on the whole hoof, it does not take a lot of time or expense in money. Stool near an infection isn't pretty to look at because the sewage is full of bacteria, as you know. Good job.

Its the corkscrew. Some cows may also get some size difference with age.
