The question mark objectively doesn't need to be in the title. Bigger roster, better customisation, smoother online, more accessibility options (controls, visuals and sound) and more offline modes. On top of that the online issues on day one were dealt with quickly and openly with the players. I've played MK1 since day one and the lag is shocking (granted my internet isn't the best here but it struggles more than every other game I play), I've had to stick to offline only 99% of the time. I'm genuinely baffled that T8 is playable online for me with no lag at all, it's mental.
Dude, to me, there's no question. MK1 fell so flat of my own personal expectations that it's literally one of the few times that I regret buying a game at all. Whereas I've been traditionally luke warm on Tekken as a whole for years, but Tekken 8 has turned my view of the series completely around.
something important that needs to be mentioned is that the arcade quest also works as a tutorial so you can learn the basics, which is a very nice and needed addition, especially since tekken is so complex. besides that in arcade quest you also unlock ghost battles, where for 1 you can train your own ai ghost by fighting it to fight just like you and 2 then you can proceed to download other people's ghosts and fight them. you can basically even try your luck against pros without actually fighting them or for some offline challenge when you don't feel like playing ranked. i think this is a revolutionary feature for a fighting game just as is another new addition, the replay feature, where you can watch your fights and replay sequences and get tips on how to do better.
If you're wondering how Heihachi still has his original voice in the recap, that's because the recaps are originally from Tekken6. Except the T7 recap. Thay was a new one made for T8 in a type of homage to the og recaps. Fun fact. Shimborei. Former director of DOA5/6 Worked on Tekken8 aswell and you can fight his ghost in super Ghost Battle wer the character he uses is customised to look like DOA characters.
it honestly seems like Devs of Bandai Namco had a complete gameplan from the word go. Devs of MK1 had a few good good ideas that, somehow, derailed mid-way through development, and it shows....
It pains me to say this, but tekken 8 is the king of 2024, they win this round! It’s not even close! Tekken 8 sh!ts all over the competition just because it’s so enjoyable and immersive! I think if we want the fighting genre to continue into the future then I hope we see more games take a leaf out of Namco’s book
Tekken’s story absolutely sucks, t8 was better then 7 but not by much. Gameplay however is why everyone loves these games. Good video, keep up the good work.
I really want to try tekken 8 as my first tekken game but the price in Canada is more than $100 after tax which is alot for a game. I have mk1 and really like the gameplay, but the story was just ok. Tekken 8 looks so good and the characters look so much better than I mk1. Also I never have bought any dlc characters.
I love this video so much and great to see Tekken ball back, i believe tekken 7 had tekken bowling which i think was Tekken 3 or 4. Memes are fantastic man!! Great video, great work and while my fav character to play is Jin, the real GOAT is Yoshimitsu!
Mk minuses 30 fps lock in cutscenes and in the fatal blows, lack of full customisation, pure optimisation. U can say whatever you want but gameplay, punch impact, beautiful map and character design making it truly the best looking and feeling fighting nowadays. Of course combo potential in Tekken will be always higher but I can easy enjoy both of this games.
@@MrAjking808 lol these companies make record profits year after year while increasing the price, making battle passes micro transactions paywalls for features and creating live service nonsense that when they shut it off you can no longer use it. 1:50 Bro got an early access to the Tekken 8 since 2002. What a chad
Haha misspoke. Meant Tekken 4

Who remembers the game bloody roar They should remake that
Yeah I've had this thought every year new games come out wishing that was one brought back
Bloody roar 1 and 2 were epic
Long overdue reboot
Yes it's better than MK1.
As much as it pains me to do, I agree. I haven’t touched MK1 since 2nd week after release. Just didn’t click for me and wasn’t much to keep me.
The fact that so many content creators are still using the Tekken 3 soundtrack, proves how timeless it is. ❤
Tekken 8 story is the hype and over the top shit ever and i love it , also can we appreciate that final boss fight? chef kiss👏
That final boss fight was pretty damn good dude

Right on mate! Glad you dig Tekken 8

that's pretty cool!
@@DudiReviews yeah man Tekken8 is OVERFLOWING with Love for the fans and franchise.
Most of the fighting games released are better than any MK or NRS title.
It is a fact that *Tekken 8* IS BETTER than MK1 😁👍
Mk1 has been really letting me down for a while now 😑
Right on my dude - my new video that dropped this morning may be of interest then 😎
Definitely like the speed of Tekken 8 more. Both the fighting and the story feels faster-paced.
Right on my dude! Glad you enjoyed it
I've never played a game that looks so good makes the pre-rendered cutscenes look bad lol
It's a damn good looking game
Ya it's weird when that happens 😂. I've seen it in a couple games now.
im happy other fighters are stepping up where mk1 failed competition is always good for gaming
I loved your video mate, the review is smooth and explains every aspect of the game really well keep it up!
Cheers mate! Appreciate it
That Windows sound got me real good. I'm on Linux and was like "what?", "how?"... "what?" but I get it now!
Around the 11 minute mark yeah?
Only think I don’t like is the auto combo users in ranked when I’m apply too much pressure 😅… I worked hard to get here man
Oh is that a thing? Damn! Keep working at it though my dude. No one can stop king when he gets on a good combo haha
Awesome video but did you mean to say Tekken 8 at 1:51, am I hearing it right haha
Haha yeah that was supposed to be Tekken 4. My bad
it honestly seems like Devs of Bandai Namco had a complete gameplan from the word go. Devs of MK1 had a few good good ideas that, somehow, derailed mid-way through development, and it shows....
Tekken 8 is the greatest fighting game ever made.
glad you enjoyed it my dude

I'm kinda hoping for a Tekken 1-2-3 re-release for modern consoles/PC - that would be wicked!
100% agreed (plus i love the Seinfeld, Simpsons and well basically every reference you included 👍)
Cheers my dude! Glad you liked it
Tekken’s story absolutely sucks, t8 was better then 7 but not by much.

Most fighting games seem to have sucky stories😂.
But To be honest I kind of like how absurdly ridiculous and dumb Tekkens story is.

if you check out T8, let me know what you think of it mate
Easily better than MK1
my other video may be for you then my dude (may be being key word ha ha)
NRS really peaked with Injustice 2.. it was downhill from there.
Sleeping on rise of the imperfects. 🔥😩😂.
Some people find stories in fighting games to be like a story in a WHAT NOW?!! 😂💀💀💀😂
Ha ha glad that got a laugh my dude!
Has nothing to do with the video really but i will defend the fun-ness Marvel Nemesis with my life every chance I get lol
Exactly! How dare this dude disrespect that game it was so much fun.
No stress my dude! The way they did magneto in the game was pretty rad

I dont think comparing a 2D fighting game with a 3D fighting game is fare. That's like comparing a 1st person shooter with a 3rd person shooter

I won't stand for Marvel Nemesis slander. The game was fun and a product of its time.

No marvel nemesis rise of the imperfects slander will be tolerated. That game was not bad at all
I will say I like how they did magneto
Glad you enjoyed it my dude
It doesn't take a lot to be better than Mk.
Crazy arcade modes
Tekken story is crap. I love the gameplay.
MK1 has the best story I have seen in a fighting game but I dont like MK in general except Shaolin Monks
1:45 That’s C A P … There was no Tekken 8 in 2002😂😂😂
Yeah meant to say tekken 4 lol
1:48... Sorry. What? You played Tekken 8 in 2002? Bruh.
Yeah that was supposed to be tekken 4 my bad haha
You must’ve been bad at the game to say rise of the imperfects was a bad fighting game
they did some cool things in the game - Magneto's playstyle and design was great - but guess it wasn't for me
0:30 Small nitpick, but I regret to inform you that you’re logically and factually incorrect about Marvel Nemesis.
That's fair my dude. Glad you enjoyed marvel nemesis
Wait did you say Tekken 8 in 2002? Lmao you must mean Tekken 4
Yup haha
70 bucks for a fighting game... nothing right about that.
well you are going to have to get used to it and ever AAA game is now 70 dollars and it might even go to 100 if they really wanted to
@@franciscoguerra6475 then I won't buy them. I can always sail the high seas if I really want to play. Most of these "games" aren't even worth 30.
