I'll try this, because my current morning routine is this: 1)My alarm clock rings at 9:00 am. 2) I get up and turn it off. 3) I go back to sleep. 4) My mum wakes me up at 13:00. Edit: I share my morning routine with 706 people. Edit 2: I share my morning routine with 801 people. Edit 3: I share my morning routine with 835 people. Edit 4: I share my morning routine with 926 people. Edit 5: 1000+ people that share their morning routine with me,I hope you are happy with your morning routine. If not,I wish you to find the one that makes feel rejuvenated and happy each morning. Take care :)
Alarm clock wakes one up at 09. One turns it off, goes back to sleep. Wakes you again next day at 09, turn it off and go back to sleep. So permanent sleep interrupted by 10 min, when one turns off the alarm. At some moment turn off the alarm permanently.
Idea : put an alarm to go to bed ! Ask your mum to take away your electronics or turn off the wifi, then prep for bed, do ONE thing you like (it can be as long as you want, you just have to get away from electronics sooner) and go to sleep. You'll see that you will wake up at an okay time. If you find yourself sleeping more than what you'd usually need, ask mum to wake you up in the morning. A good thing to wake up really quick is to take a sip of water even before getting up, then oppening the curtains or turning on the light. You won't get back to sleep unless you reeaaaaaally need it !
As a morning person, I always feel best to start my day slowly and then bring on a faster pace as the hours go by. One thing I'd add to your morning productivity tips is to avoid social media in the early hours, because they draw your attention from important things and drain your energy to do activities like reading, journaling or meditating
Yea I realized I was a morning person when I woke up early enough to have a nice morning. Brekkie is the first thing I do and it's just this waking up routine for me where my blood gets going basically while I cook and eat a proper breakfast.
After a lot of struggle, I finally accepted that I am just not a morning person. My brain works best when it's early in the morning (1-4 am lol) and ignoring that productive period and forcing something that works for someone else is just preposterous. So do what suits you the best. Like mentioned in the video I stopped feeling guilty for not following this construct and simply got my sleep. Now I am more at peace. I highly recommend it.
happy you found your peace! but also know that the reason we feel so awake during 1-4am is because that’s when our body is giving us all it needs to rest up for the next day. we all hit a little tiredness bump in the evening, but it’s sometimes hard to notice if we for example use our phones a lot, but that’s our que to sleep
ignore these comments, it's well-documented that the circadian rhythm differs dramatically between people (and can change in different people over time)
I completely agree! I have ALWAYS been a night person. Even when I was in high school I went to class, played sports then went straight to work I would get most of my work done from 12am-3am. As long as you are getting what you need to be done, why does it matter when it is done? Continue to live in ways the suit you.
My habit tracker isn’t a guilt trip. I’m 12 so don’t take my advice too far but I have something alike generalized anxiety which makes me worry about things all the time and I can’t stop thinking. It’s annoying. I started using habit trackers so I could rest my mind on keeping in track with everything I’m doing. I recommend doing this. Use a normal day to day habit tracker but don’t feel guilty to not doing something everything. Set a goal to do something 1-3 times a week. Once you feel comfortable with doing it those times do it more often. I downloaded the app Stoic. And I realized I feel the least motivated in the middle of the week. I realized that I always have homework due to Thursdays so that’s why I’m always stressed. If you are a student I recommend starting with your projects, homework or whatever you have really early. You don’t have to do much just a part of the task in the beginning and it won’t feel as hard doing the rest of it later. (If my grammar is broken I’m Swedish) Happy holidays guys ❤️
You’re so wise, especially for a 12 year old! You’re going to do amazing things! I’m going to take your advice thank you! -a 16 year old who needs to get her life together

I’m really glad you brought up decision fatigue! I only learned about it a few months ago, and I’ve really noticed it’s one of the main things that leads to my burnout. Within the context of morning routines, I’ll be sure to make decisions about things like my outfit in advance, so I’m not starting my day off stressed
I’ve watched about a million videos on making a morning routine but somehow this one has been by FAR the most eye opening and helpful. I’m definitely going to try making “themed days”! Thanks for sharing
I think for me, i've come to terms with the fact that I'm not going to have a fancy or long morning routine. I'd almost always rather get the extra sleep. I wake up about 20 mins before I have to leave, throw on clothes, wash face brush teeth, and grab food (usually toast, or sometimes I make oatmeal muffins the night before), and walk out the door and I eat my breakfast on my way to class/work. I've tried waking up earlier, but it just doesn't happen. I'm better off setting my alarm to when I actually NEED to get up and then get up. I'd much rather do the medication/journaling/gaming the night before.
Yeah same! I feel like I had this when I was in college, and the answer (for me!) wasn’t to try and have a really long morning routine it was to actually consistently and reliably build just 10 more minutes into my morning. So even though the routine was really quick and simple, it wasn’t rushed. Because that was what really made me unhappy. And im also just not a morning person. Part of it I think was realizing that it’s not all or nothing, it’s not feel uncomfortable and rushed every morning or spent two hours doing x. I really needed sleep, but by having 10 more minutes I was able to do a really quick routine on purpose.
I relate! Last year at uni my Fridays started an hour earlier than my other days, and I would still get up at the same time. The night before I'd prepare breakfast so I could grab it with me. I realised I wasn't going to have a longer routine, so it was better to organise things around that so I'd still have breakfast! My favourite thing to do was make cinnamon fluffy pancakes (American ones) and freeze half (as a batch is usually enough for 2). Then I'd pop them into the toaster for 20 seconds and they'd be ready, and tasty plain. Working with myself meant I had way less stress!
Im actually impressed that you can do your mourning routine in such little time. Personally I need an hour or two to properly wake up in the morning for work or school even without meditating and reading
@@thelastwish558 I wouldn't say i'm really wake wake, but more that i'm really good at functioning when i'm sleepy. When I wake up, those 20 mins I take to get ready is 100% auto pilot mode. As long as i'm semi awake by the time I get to work/class it's all good :)
Is it weird that I dont have a morning routine? I just wake up, eat, brush my teeth and go right away do my stuff? I usually do other things I like in the late evening like reading
That’s actually your routine, eat, brush teeth, start working. Very similar to matt d’avella’s actually. I really dislike that people try to shove two hour long routines down our throats with meditation and a bunch of stuff that works for THEM but NOT for everyone. It is a lot of trial and error, but just do what works for you and dont feel pressured to have a routine with reading and meditation and cleaning and journaling and whatever
I do the same things just a different order. I also meditate a bit because apparently it should help with a mind that likes to jump from thought to thought - though I haven't done it long enough to know if it works
Your videos have improved a lot, I can tell these are not cookiecutter tips that 15 other youtubers have already mention but your actual experience which you implimented and shared with us.
This is the most original video about morning routines I have seen so far. Also you can tell these tips are genuine experiences, not something solely read & researched! Thanks Mariana, this actually helped me (especially the part, where you should do sth you can look forward to in the morning, not sth you have to force yourself to do) :)
I used to wake up at 6 am get to school by 8am and get a lot of work done in the day. Now with online classes I don’t have the structure and it all fell apart lol. I wake up late in the day, stay up late at night. But I still get all my work done just not the same way. Can’t wait to go back to campus when it’s safe.
I try to keep realistic in the beginning. I start off by just waking up earlier but Astro allowing myself to lay in bed or scroll through social media, once that’s down, I take out one thing at a time & replace it with something more productive or rewarding. Over time I have a wonderful routine in place with flexibility for change!
I literally day before yesterday morning I was thinking why my morning routine is not been successful. Thank you for this video. Stay safe... keep motivating
fixed habits and variable ones! new concept for me! but makes sense, I was being hard on myself trying to build habits from last year, it was going well but everything changed with the pandemic and I lost it all because I wanted to keep up and have all be perfect
This video is literally for me ! And I needed this as I was not even studying in the morning and getting up late and then felt less motivated as my half day was wasted! Thanks for this Mariana ❤️

I think this is so far the best video I've seen on morning routines. Thank you so much, you explained so simply and well some problems I've been facing.
have gone through some turmoil in my life recently. and now come back, watching your videos again makes me feel soooooooooo good. it makes me feel like i'm putting myself together. thank you for your work 🌹
I read (and made a video on) "Atomic Habits" recently and I think you applied it perfectly! Creating a routine is about more than just doing stuff over and over; it's about designing something that works for you that you also enjoy doing as a result! Awesome video.
Fantastic video, makes me wanna start a morning routine that will actually make me excited for the mornings. I’m not a morning person and waking up usually triggers my anxiety which affects negatively my entire day. I hope I can find a routine that will make life easier. Thanks for the inspiration.
I’ve been trying to create a ‘perfect’ morning routine recently and this really helped!! For whatever reason, I felt that I needed it to implement all of the SAVERS habits from the miracle morning and I’m thinking maybe it’s not for everybody!
My best change in our morning routine has been to simply ask the kids what they want for breakfast the night before and then set the breakfast table before we go to bed. To keep our mornings as streamlined as possible has been a game changer! As for myself I should definitely consider the have a different theme for every day to stay motivated 💕
This is an amazing guide for someone who lives alone. I believe that the people who have children or big families in a tight space have fewer possibilities to have the time as organized as shown.
I love the idea of themed habits. We set such unflexible expectations most of the time for ourselves that it's almost funny. Thank you for sharing !! ♥
here's the thing.. i literally always wake up at 3am, and always do the same thing every morning, but.. it's always hard for me to do the things like working out at 5am or study at 4am that i promised myself to do, i just always ended up reading stories or comics or watching youtube or the most productive one is yoga. so here i am hoping this vid will help :)
I love your tips! I have been struggling with sticking to a consistent morning routine. Thank you for saying “stop the guilt trip”. Best advice today! I shall try the themed days!
I don’t know what’s bring me to this video. I’m studying and tired rn but your video really encouraged me to improve my morning routine. This video makes sense for me. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you 🙏🏻 💕
I really like the idea of themed routines. there are days I want to read more, meditate more, or research more. that's perfect. I don't know why I never thought of it. Also, I literally just started using notion. I'm still learning my way around it and how I can implement it into my productivity.
I loved the idea of "themed days". I think it will make me look foreward to each day! So far I've taken your "reset day" as the first day of my week, to plan the week ahead and catch up with whatever i couldn't do the week before, as well as a "reading day". I've added a "yoga morning" day (which I'm planning to fill up with some yoga/mindfulness related activities) and a "nature walk" (which I'll take just to walk to the park, with no hurry or intention of doing cardio, etc. Just to enjoy it). Does anyone else have good theme days ideas??
My routine recently: 7:30 alarm goes off - press snooze every 10 minutes 8:50 realise I have 10 minutes until work starts and rush around getting ready/making a drink whilst I load up my computer
Yeeesss!!! I really needed to hear this!!! Every morning routine I ever created have failed because they weren't flexible at all!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful tips!!🥰
My morning routine during school: 1) Wake up at 7;30 AM 2) Turn off my iPad alarm, check the weather, and put on some lofi 3) Get dressed into day clothes 4)Make my bed 5) Say good morning to my mum and ask whats for breakfast 6) Brush my hair and teeth 7) Eat breakfast 8) Fill up my waterbottle, put on socks and shoes and go on a small walk 9) come back, do my Duolingo lesson 10) Check my Gmail and log into ZOOM meeting at 8;40 AM I wrote this down because this video helped me so much to create this structured routine! New sub
i like that you said there should be downtime because when i first made my schedule and i thought i was failing myself because i wasn't 100% following it but it wasn't me it was the schedule that simply that couldn't fit me. My days are always mixed up and i cant really plan what I'm going to do or at what time. so now i am make a weekly routine (i had a daily one before) and I'm going to take into account that i cant plan my day out, it plans me
Mariana, I genuinely love you and your content! Thank you for giving us such awesome, detailed information and having the most pleasant voice tone to hear
Puffer time is necessary for everything! Bit, I don't understand, why people need such a big morning routine... What's wrong with a short one: awake, go out of bed, get cleaned and dressed, make your breakfast and/or your lunch and then go to work or start your staying home routine. Why so complicated? Ok, reading a book, the tora or bible or the koran or practice your instrument for half an our or go for a run before your getting hungry, but not more. One, not everything! If you need more, create a "after breakfast-routine" or a "efore breakfast - routine". Have less as possible in it! Six is a very good number! But much too.. Maybe for is better: go on your work - do the dishes - go back to work - make lunch - rest Then the next routine: make lunch - eat - read - clean the table - wash the dishes - watering the plants - clean what you see (procrastinate) - go back to work - next routine... Never d o things like work - go shopping - work, because shopping had too much things you need to do after it... Make a routine for it on its own (especially grocery shopping...)
This video is my favorite video ever!!! I am lately having problems while managing my whole morning routine with Online School, And now, Mariana has "Cozily" Motivated me to attend classes "Cozily" just like her. Squeeeeee!!!! 😆😆
One thing that really helped me stick with my morning routine is actually figuring out the things I need to do in order to feel ready to start my day, as opposed to doing the things I *thought* I *should* be doing
Another great video - thank you! I was looking for some fresh ideas for my morning/evening routines. I had not heard of 'Notion,.' I'll be checking it out.
I am a morning person, so I am very productive in the morning and have no issue with just getting up earlier if I need more time. Sometimes that means 4:30am. I have a hard time sleeping past 5:30am. Sleeping after 6am is my version of "sleeping in" and I feel like I've missed out on precious productivity time when I do that.
I love this channel, makes everything easier. But I would like to ask you if you have ever thought about a half digital and half bullet journal system. I don’t know how to organise it
Weekly schedules are way better than daily ones. I started doing this a few weeks ago (without seeing this video) & all I will advise is try to do any boring/annoying tasks as early in the week as possible. Otherwise you end up doing the easy fun stuff all week & feel guilty.
My morning routine is mostly aiding me in waking up slowly. I prepare some things for my breakfast the night before, so I have nothing difficult or challenging left to do in the morning. I wake up, turn on my radio while still in bed (or it wakes me when I need to get up in time), I read a couple of pages while still in bed, then I get up, do my stuff in the bathroom, get dressed (I've worked from home even before Covid-19), prepare and eat my breakfast, and get in front of my computer to catch up with what happened before I start to work (I'm a writer). By the time breakfast is done, I'm awake and prepared to go into writing (well, on most days).
This is so me! My morning routine has to start the night before because I am sooooo slow in the morning, not because I don't like mornings (I actually love mornings and am such a morning person, I just love the quiet), but because I enjoy doing things slowly. So I make most decisions in the evening (like what to wear, what to eat, etc), and in the morning I just create this flow that I can do slowly, quietly and effortlessly. It's like my whole morning is a meditation in its own without actually sitting down to formaly meditate. I love it
@@glauciamsq Yes, that's how I do it, too. Like that, there's no stress in the morning, because all decisions are made and everything is laid out as much as possible. I can ease into my day and that's much better.
I'll try this, because my current morning routine is this:
1)My alarm clock rings at 9:00 am.

Why your morning routine isn’t working for you
Me: wakes up at 12pm
No matter what topic it is, you always bring something amazing and motivating.
Fantastic video, makes me wanna start a morning routine that will actually make me excited for the mornings. I’m not a morning person and waking up usually triggers my anxiety which affects negatively my entire day. I hope I can find a routine that will make life easier. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is the most practical morning routine video I have seen to date. Thank you, Mariana, for making it sound so relatable.
my routine:
waking up between 6.00-7.00
workout
shower
skincare
breakfast
getting ready
starting my work
I’ve been trying to create a ‘perfect’ morning routine recently and this really helped!! For whatever reason, I felt that I needed it to implement all of the SAVERS habits from the miracle morning and I’m thinking maybe it’s not for everybody!
I LOVE the buffer time tip and themed days tip. Looking forward to integrating these.
My best change in our morning routine has been to simply ask the kids what they want for breakfast the night before and then set the breakfast table before we go to bed. To keep our mornings as streamlined as possible has been a game changer! As for myself I should definitely consider the have a different theme for every day to stay motivated 💕
Thanks for sharing!
I needed this video, lately I was really stressed out about my morning routine. loved all the tips!
One of the best morning routine videos i have seen. I honestly think this approach will be the difference in achieving my early mornings.
Oh wow I needed this. I’ve been struggling with not liking my morning routine.
my favorite activity in the morning is sleeping
here's the thing.. i literally always wake up at 3am, and always do the same thing every morning, but.. it's always hard for me to do the things like working out at 5am or study at 4am that i promised myself to do, i just always ended up reading stories or comics or watching youtube or the most productive one is yoga. so here i am hoping this vid will help :)
you should try blocking the websites you get distracted by. it helps a lot.
@@charliethomlin6434 that's a great idea! thanks
Thank you 🙏🏻 💕
Mariana thank you for always inspiring and motivating me with your videos💜
The way she says Morning is just
So soothing ♥️
This is hands down my favorite video you have made! Thank you!
I really like the idea of themed routines. there are days I want to read more, meditate more, or research more. that's perfect. I don't know why I never thought of it. Also, I literally just started using notion. I'm still learning my way around it and how I can implement it into my productivity.
your videos are so helpful and amazing I truly don't have words to appreciate your efforts
hey Mariana, can you make a video over managing personal expenses and saving? That might be a good video.
Your videos are super easy to follow and implement. I really liked your video on Google productivity apps. For me staying simple keeps me sane.
My routine recently:
7:30 alarm goes off - press snooze every 10 minutes
8:50 realise I have 10 minutes until work starts and rush around getting ready/making a drink whilst I load up my computer
One of the best videos about productivity that I've seen. Thanks for sharing great content!
What a great video. I now know some of the mistakes I've been making in my morning routine
Your content is so creative. So cool. Never felt bored.
Seeing Oathbringer on your table just made me really excited since it’s less than a month until Rhythm of War is released 🤗
Thank you, I thought no one would comment about it.
Yeeesss!!! I really needed to hear this!!! Every morning routine I ever created have failed because they weren't flexible at all!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful tips!!🥰
This was amazing
My morning routine during school:
1) Wake up at 7;30 AM
2) Turn off my iPad alarm, check the weather, and put on some lofi
3) Get dressed into day clothes
4)Make my bed
5) Say good morning to my mum and ask whats for breakfast
6) Brush my hair and teeth
7) Eat breakfast
8) Fill up my waterbottle, put on socks and shoes and go on a small walk
9) come back, do my Duolingo lesson
10) Check my Gmail and log into ZOOM meeting at 8;40 AM
I wrote this down because this video helped me so much to create this structured routine! New sub
theme days sound wonderful to me! I think this is the thing I need the most to incorporate into my routine.
Took me some time but, for me, it's add. Knowing that your brain just responds differently to new routines then other brains do helps so much.
The video is really helpful, but I want to say that this is one of the most beautiful works I've seen. Just perfect 🤗
i like that you said there should be downtime because when i first made my schedule and i thought i was failing myself because i wasn't 100% following it but it wasn't me it was the schedule that simply that couldn't fit me. My days are always mixed up and i cant really plan what I'm going to do or at what time. so now i am make a weekly routine (i had a daily one before) and I'm going to take into account that i cant plan my day out, it plans me
just a random note, I love Brandon Sanderson's books!! I'm glad to have found another fan :)
Love Brandon Sanderson! Can't wait for Rhythm of War.
I'm actually new to Sanderson! I just started my second series from him, Mistborn :) any other recommendations?
Could you make a video going in depth about how you organize your Notion?
This is one of the best morning routine videos I’ve seen. Thank you!
i saw the stormlight archive book there...reading words of radiance myself rn!! nice knowing you read these too
Amazing !your content is getting better day by day . Thanks a lot for this one.
Mariana, I genuinely love you and your content! Thank you for giving us such awesome, detailed information and having the most pleasant voice tone to hear
Thank you so much for this wonderful and helpful video❤️❤️❤️❤️ Increased the level of expectations from you. You go girl🔥
I don't know how to say this but this is the first video of yours that I watch. And I subscribe.
This video is probably the best I've seen on productivity! Thank you very much 🌹
One thing that really helped me stick with my morning routine is actually figuring out the things I need to do in order to feel ready to start my day, as opposed to doing the things I *thought* I *should* be doing
Love the idea of shifting to a weekly routine mentality instead of daily.
Another great video - thank you! I was looking for some fresh ideas for my morning/evening routines. I had not heard of 'Notion,.' I'll be checking it out.
BESTTT VIDEO I SAW ON THIS TOPIC. THANKYOU SO MUCH.
You fell like a big sis ive never had. But so much needed🥺
The best video about this topic
Okayy that was the exact thing I'm going through. Being too ambitious and expecting too much from a single day🙇🏻♀️. This video is relatable.
Mariana is the voice of reason in a sea of TH-cam chatter
I want to have some time in the morning just to relax and do something pleasant but I struggle to get up an hour earlier
I love this channel, makes everything easier. But I would like to ask you if you have ever thought about a half digital and half bullet journal system. I don’t know how to organise it
Espectacular, justo el tipo de video que buscaba ver en estos momentos
When i was a teenager, my alarm rings at 8 am because i wanna to get up early.
I don't know how but my mom or my nanny wakes me at 12:00
I really needed this video ....Thankyou 🤗
Love the quality of your videos
oh wow that's beauty in the mundane by birds of figment in the background, one of my favourite songs
I just making my physics study guide and this was more than a treat 😊🤧
Thank you for the advices. It will help me a lot especially during this pandemic.
Weekly schedules are way better than daily ones. I started doing this a few weeks ago (without seeing this video) & all I will advise is try to do any boring/annoying tasks as early in the week as possible. Otherwise you end up doing the easy fun stuff all week & feel guilty.
Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination
Thank you for sharing your morning routine :)
My routine is basically
Wake up, get dressed, eat, brush teeth / hair, wash face etc., study before classes then start classes
