Same here honestly. I could wear a nice cologne on my body but my locs could be smelling like peppermint or cotton candy from the shampoo i use😂
Ive not been wanting to oil my locks, just my scalp and water for the rest of my hair but it seems to work for you. Your locks are beautiful; very healthy looking, and the coloring is absolutely gorgeous.
You have such an exotic look! Beautiful! U r one of the few ppl on these videos that understands that WATER is the only moisturizer and that oils only seal in that water. I, too, use only Rose Water or distilled water. Showering w/o a cap is good, as well. Going to click on link for the brush. Thanx for the info. Love you❤️
Rose water must be a very good moisturizer. I'm hearing about more and more now days. Also raw aloe vera gel.

Beautiful, beautiful locs!!!!! I have red locs too and I moisturise my locs every 3 days roughly. My scalp the same but my hairline is very weak. I'm using Macadamia oil, Castor oil and coconut oil every now and again. Love you lotsxx
Your hair color is banging!!! You drinking water reflects your beautiful skin as well. I drink about a gallon of water a day and it makes a hella difference.

I jus Love yr energy .... I,ve been watchin Locs vids for YRS nw an I mean for YEEEEARS ... an I must say yr hair journey has been the most breathtakin to me ... An I,ve seen TONS of other journeys truss me .... Yr vids r sooo.... informative an well though out .... I,m very basic when it comes to my Locs care an DON,T use Shampoos etc...but I KNW sooo... many ppl have benefited frm yr experience time an effort an have enjoyed watchin U like ME ....

I bought an aloe vera plant about a month ago..& thats what I use to moisturize my scalp & ta retwist..im not ready to embrace the lil gray that I do have so I color too & I swear since Ive been using the aloe..my new growth has doubled in length ..sooner than usual, I believe Aloe has magical properties..lol

+Rachel Marie I do have a video discussing my combined locs. In the same video where I count my locs. I think it is called "How Many Locs Do I Have + My Combined Locs". Red looks good on dark skin, go for a deeper shade however, imo.

I'm only 10 months locked so they're still maturing. They are locked pretty well, but I have a lot of frizz and I still use a shower cap. Is it ever too soon to shower without a cap?

Hi sweetie. I love your videos. I like your moisturizing routine, but there’s one oil that I could’ve sworn was a staple for u,, but u didn’t mention it...Jojoba oil. It’s the oil that is most like the natural sebum that our skin and scalp secretes. I love it. I can be low on any other oil, but stay stocked with Jojoba. Give it a try. Let me know what u think.

Anita Alcott add a few spoonfuls of a carrier oil into your shampoo if it's too harsh and drying.

I see a lot of people spraying water on their hair first to moisturizd and it doesn't work for me because I live in a colder climate and it messes up my hair retwist no matter how lightly I spritz , so I use a cream based leave in conditioner that has water as the 1st ingredient and use oil to seal it in , is that okay.
Thank you this helped me so much!!! I just did my first retwist less than a week ago and I've moisturized twice since then.(I spray my hair with water then oil and massage my scalp.) My problem is that my hair looks like I need another retwist already and it's just been 4 days. Is this just something you have to deal with when starting locs? I'm nervous my hair will never look freshly done.
I have that same problem. And my new growth always connects and i have to break it apart.
@@shanice-biancacalhoun9273 its okay for you to have to 'pop' your hair at the roots of your locs.
Shâlôwm, You have to train your hair. Use only oil and/or butters NATURAL. Then your roots will start to cooperate. Drink lots of water it help make healthy bendable and not breakable hair. But your retwisting technique matters too. You don't have to twist your hair TIGHT for it to work with you. Try twisting and styling right after while wet or damp. Wear your style for a week with no moisture. Gravity extends the curl so wearing your hair down will assist with unravel. Just like scratching, slinging, or just turning your head. Touch your hairs gently and teach them how to act. It'll get easier. You should try always doing your own hair. Hair reacts differently depending on its mood. This way you'll know how to treat it so it'll be nice to you. My retwists last anywhere from a week to two weeks. Hope this helps.💛💚

hello. I've watched some of your videos but I am failing miserably at maintaining my locks. they are bleached and starting to itch ...this bleach has been in my hair years.
