🎊 🎉🎉 congratulations on 12 years Loc’d. I will celebrate 12 years this December however my loc’s is not long at all just shoulder length. My loc’s broke of from using Dr. Bonner castle soap which was drying my hair out along with coloring it. I was so disappointed 😔. Now I am trying to get them to grow back.
Congratulations. I've just made my 2 year locaversary in April. I'm nowhere at a length where I would have to trim but the digital loctician I also follow on TH-cam says people with locs should trim every 5 years. The same way people with loose hair trim their ends every so often people with locs should too as well. I'll see what my locs look like as the years go on and trim when I think its needed. I'm excited for the trim video from you.

I feel you girl. Cut it to a length you can handle. I’m 5 years now so I’m good with it. But I do notice that the longer it gets, it’s more comfy in a head wrap or just down. The buns and ponytails are starting to kind of hurt or feel uncomfortable 😣

I think brown would look good on you. My hair’s a medium brown straight out my scalp and they still ask if they’re extensions, people just chat. I definitely put the time in.

Your hair is so amazing ! I can understand that you wanna cut it . After a certain length it can get bothersome. I’m gonna be hitting the 12 year mark in December but I cut them from waist length to shoulder length. It’s an adjustment but surprisingly my hair is growing pretty fast. Low key I kinda want to to let them grow down to your knee caps but it might be a bit much . Either way you are still going to look gorgeous.

I’m getting ready to cut my locs again for the second time in 3 years. My first cut was in October of 2019. They were at the crack of my butt then. Got them cut to bra strap length and I loved it. No more neck pain and the layers gave shape. It’s since grown back and then some so I have an appointment next month for another cut and this time it’s gonna be an ear length bob. I can’t wait. This month marks 10 years for me and I’m celebrating by chopping most of them off. 😆 I’m almost 45. Super long locs personally ain’t a flex for ME. But I love yours! Been following you since I started mine years ago.

Congratulations sis im almost 6 years and hair is at my butt and it is very much a blessing and a struggle because it does get in the way but it definitely very feminine very sexy but I keep it up in styles that make it shorter so its more control of the hair

12 years here also! Having to move your hair b4 wiping ya butt is madness!! I definitely chopped to top of booty length. It's still a lot but it's easier for sure! Swore I wanted them down to my ankles 😫 NO MA'AM!!!

I can understand your desire to cut off some inches. On my second set I cut about 3 inches at one point. I'm on my 3rd set & I don't plan to wear my locs past my shoulder. I hate when ppl ask if I have "braids" 🤪

@Fires And Flowers These r ppl who are not familiar with locs I think. This is my 3rd set of locs..not a lot of length yet. With my second set (on my profile pic) I was usually asked if it was my real hair..this was before loc extensions 🤦🏽♀️
Love your locs and I definitely can understand. I’m hitting my 2 year mark May 30. Because my hair is so thick and I started out long, my locs will probably be there like yours and I know it will be way too much for me. Just dyed my locs red and brownish but will go full red. Loving your content.

Yes i will turn 11 years in septembre and I remember your beginings. Chocolate Brown is a color all shades of brown . I actually want to try as I get few white strands now .my natural hair is dark brown ..where you want to cut them is my loc length right now and yes that's still lot of hair .Well do what do you .

I’ve cut my Locs so many times (I’ve lost count! 😆) not that I wanted to I had no choice due to damage. I’m Trying to grow them back now I would love waist length that’s more manageable I guess. ☺️💕

I trim when it gets to my butt crack and I start sitting on it (like right now). I love the feeling of a fresh trim and shorter length. But I’m always hesitant when it’s time to trim, every time, and idk why 😂.

Have you had your ends thin and break? Some of my ends did that with my last loc journey.
I do experience some ends getting weak here and there. What that happens I rip them off or trim them off. & Thank you queen!

I was planning on cutting mine at 10 years. Now 10 years have just passed and I don't want to. I'd be fine if they just stayed the length they are now. My hair is naturally brown with a reddish tint, and I've always wanted it to be jet black.
That was my plan too originally but I couldn’t bring myself to cut them then. A natural reddish brown sounds beautiful 🖤

My hair is pass my shoulder this is the longest my hair has ever been and I'm already struggling.
I cut mine recently - 19th April. I'm already regretting it, but I cut them to shoulder length. I know it looks cute and healthy and more volume.....but I miss having the length 😂
I run a brush over mine quick each morning, it's made them so much shinier - I do like that yours is curved - mine is just straight

I was 13 years in February, and I had to take a whole lot of inches off as well .same excuse as yours also.
Do you ever feel like the "leaning tower of locs" when you have them wrapped up? My locs are long as well and I like to wrap them when it gets hot but after a while they feel heavy and my head starts tipping over so I have to take it down. I'm also really bad at trying to wrap them at the back of my head as opposed to the very top, so that may be part of the problem.
If I didn’t position it correctly, yes. But when it’s placed well, I’m very comfortable 🖤
I would go to colorist if you want to change your hair from black to any other colour. Box dye won't cut it for the parts that have been previously coloured and you may have less than desirable results
Heyhey! Is your brush a hard bristle brush? I have a soft bristle brush and the lint doesn’t seem to come out!☹️ Also, my hair is black but not a rich black should I do a rinse? I am afraid of the rinse coming out when I sweat 🤢
It’s called soft but it has a medium feel. Brushes don’t get rid of lint that’s already imbedded into your locs, only lint that’s sitting on the surface. I’ve rinsed my locs black many times and never dealt with it running when I sweat. Make sure you wash it out FULLY and dry it fully after coloring. 🖤
