I've never had a hot oil treatment. Might have to try that one day. I have the massaging shampoo brush after seeing it in one of your videos and I LOVE it, it feels so relaxing and great against my scalp. I've noticed a difference. Thanks for all you do Keisha!

    • @KeishaCharmaine

I am Sapphire you probably don't use too much oil. If you don't use a lot you don't have to rinse

I with you on that one sis! I feel like my locs do the same thing! My locs get dry very fast so I always need to keep them moisturizer, but I don’t use a ton of oil either!

I recently dyed my red locs and same thing, they look like bluish green. I wasn't sure if the red was sucking the moisture out of my locs or not, but after about 6 months of no red, my scalp is still horribly dry. I'm going to try a hot oil treatment and see how it works. Thank you

Hi Keisha I've already purchased that shampoo brush its nice on my scalp. I do hot oil treatments I love how my hair looks and feels after.
I love using Olive oil or Apricot oil I might actually mix them next time. I normally warm mine in a bowl in the microwave then apply it through my hair with my hands, followed by cling film wrap or plastic bag then I will either wrap a warm towel or sit under my hooded drier. I will be doing a vid on my routine actually so your welcome to subscribe to my channel! 😉. Thank you for sharing I must get your book congratulations! 👍🏾👌🏾😘❤️🙏🏾

Hey Keisha, ive been subscribed to your channel for months now. You inspired me to start mine. :-)
I've been newly locked now for almost 7 month and its my loctician who maintaines them, but I have started my daughter with braid locs and I do hot oil treatments on hers myself using vitamin E oil. I wash her hair, rinse and apply the warm oil to her hair while her hair is damp, i cover with a shower cap, leave in for about 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse out and her hair is soft. I don't do it to mine at the moment because I struggle to maintain my own locs (retwisting) I leave it to the care of my Loctician just until they're properly locked. X

Great video! I love the easy process. I have a scalp massager like that (different manufacturer), and it is SO SOOTHING before bed after a long day!! It gets my scalp all tingly, yet relaxes my body. I'll have to check out the V/P Treatment! I usually use a bunch of essential (clove, lavender, tea tree, sandalwood, etc) and carrier oils (coconut, avocado, jojoba, etc) from my stash mixed together.

I just purchased your Horsetail Leaf oil, and plan to use it for this purpose. Usually, I do the hot oil treatment on damp unwashed hair, and then wash my hair after rinsing it out. I still feel the benefits.

I really enjoyed this video! I've been loc'd for 2yrs & natural for 5yrs and have been trying to find an effective way to give myself a hot oil treatment w/o the greasy after effect. I just placed my order & can't wait to try this technique. Thank you!

You can also try doing the hot oil treatment right before (or the night before) you wash your hair. That way most of it (what would feel greasy) is washed off, leaving your hair softer (due to the oil it adsorbed).

Dontedreadedup L tiny hairs is fine, it's still breakage but it happens. It could be little split ends or just hairs that broke loose from the loc. As long as it's not a ton of hair you're fine
