I'm applying for a job at gamestop and something kind of confused me. Most gamestop employees I've talked to refer to themselves as game advisers, but when I look at jobs online that isn't a thing. The closest thing I can find listed is sales associate. Are game adviser and sales associate the same thing or are they differnet?

It really sucks because GameStop is the only place that accepts trade ins. I went to Best Buy with my receipt and they told me they couldn't accept a game I bought the day before from the same cashier because it was opened. When I pointed out that they have preowned games missing cover images and all she said no they don't and when I showed her the section she fed me some bullshit about it. I haven't sold anything on eBay cause I've had enough bad experiences on there and Craigslist
+Thomas G you are not aloud to return opened games. It to prevent piracy, and keep you from doing it as a rental. That is not Best Buy or GameStops fault. That is the publishers, they will not reimburse the company for the return.
Dood I'm a funko pop collector and of all the stores I go hunting in, (hot topic, barnes m noblr2, comic book stores and finally gamestop) I hate going to gamestop out of them all.. The female managers treat pop collectors like low grade peasants and they don't organize there HUGE 300 pop display like other stores do. I hate when funko drops the really good exclusive pops /comic con exclusives to gamestop like batman/joker stuff
Oh ya I go to fye too but the fye here in Virginia rarely gets good stuff, pretty much hot topic, game stop and barnes get the really good exclusives from funko
Yeah the up sales is the main reason I don't shop there I don't trade in my games so being able to save .20 cents off that game I just happened to find there doesn't justify the 20 dollar sub a year for me to go maybe 3 times a year

However it is hard to support a family working their and no room for any kind of call offs. So it has its ups and downs. But the manager will determine how that experience goes for you. Good manager good experience, bad manager bad experience.

I have an apartment and a wife who works. no kids. Would GameStop be a place to work for someone like me? Is the actual WORK hard or frustrating (I get tired easily)? thanks!
+Jarl Torunn yes probably an ideal place for you to ease back into working. Chances are they wont start you at full time. Unless you have prior management experience. But good to know your transplant went well man. That's a pretty intense procedure to have to recover from.
