    • @MegaLokopo

      Flying is cheaper than ever before if you adjust for inflation. When consumers only buy the cheapest ticket, it forces airlines to lower their prices by reducing the quality of the service. Airlines are not raising tickets as fast as inflation, because they are able to make up the difference by charging the people who have the most baggage more money. It lets them charge a lot less for people who travel light. If everyone bought first class tickets, flying would be much more pleasant for everyone, and the airlines would make the same amount of money.

      @@MegaLokopo No, they are not forced. This is called "racing to the bottom" and it's a choice.
      In laptops you had this with Dell vs HP and then Apple decided to not do it. Today most brands have both high and low end.

    • @MegaLokopo
      @MegaLokopo 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@MadsterV There are multiple ways to force someone or a company to do something without holding a gun to their head.
      When airline A makes a smaller seat and charges 5 dollars less because they can fit more people on the plane, and airline B doesn't do that, airline B loses out on sales until they follow in A's footsteps, but often matching them isn't enough to get people to change airlines, B to not go out of business needs to be competitive, they need to offer a lower cost, not just the same price. So B is forced to lower their prices with smaller seats, and the process repeats itself until people stop paying for smaller seats.
      yes laptops have high end and low end versions, they still raced to the bottom, they just also have many skews and with their being new hardware every year or two, you don't see the race to the bottom.
      Also airlines have first class and many options to pay more to get better service or larger seats, But most people only care about the final price, which is why seats have gotten as small as they have, and service has gotten as bad as it has.
      If everyone paid for comfort plus or first class, coach would take up less space on the plane, and would eventually disappear.

      @@MegaLokopo and where did you find that information, certainly sounds like you’re the airline industry spin doctor,time of day,and day of the week factor very heavily into their price structure, for example I flew home on the 22/12/2024and return flight is on the 6/1/2025, now in actual fact, I would of preferred to fly on the 21/12/2024 & return on the 5/1/2025, same time, to fly to and return on the second date saved me over 50%, so how do they justify that blow out, if it’s not blatant price gouging, and yes there were seats available on the earlier date. Just saying.

      Some "if" of it must go? I sure hope you read the dials while flying better than you type on a keyboard...lol. Every little mistake counts for something up there, I'm thinking🤣 Having said that attempt at humor, because we all make small errors in typing out our shared words, I'll add that I did actually take the controls of an FBI agent's small plane, then fly a straight course for about 25 minutes so he could get a little shuteye. When he awoke, and saw I still had kept the correct heading, he rewarded me by doing a quick loop the loop. Then he asked me if I wanted to try one, too. I did. He talked me through it and I did just fine. It was super fun, but a bit scary. I had just recently turned 20 years old, so I still had my young man guts going for me. He, the agent, was around 35ish. When I went for a second loop the loop without bothering to ask first, he didn't have any problem, so I continued. After I pulled out of the loop as was at the bottom I went for two in a row. When the agent saw what I was doing he spoke up telling me to pull out of it, but I was on a roll(pun intended). I barely made it over the top of the arc finishing up the second loop though! It seemed like we floated upside down for long, long seconds while the plane responded like it was trying to make up its mind about something. It felt like we weren't even going anywhere. But I made it. Well, the plane did most the work, I suppose. That's when the FBI agent got very angry with me and took over the controls. He didn't let me at them again either. I still remember him saying "You could have hurt my new plane!" The year was 1977, and I had just been through something honestly traumatic. But at least I have some 'good and honest stories' that came out of it all to recall. Maine says hello. Happy 2025, too!

      When adjusted for inflation flying is cheaper than ever. Southwest is in the process of no longer including two free checked bags, because they aren't able to compete with everyone else who can use that additional income from checked baggage to subsidize ticket prices for travelers who don't check bags. People are forcing the airlines to race to the bottom, because no one is actually willing to pay more for a better experience. Most us airlines first class tickets price is equally profitable per pound and per square foot when compared to coach. If you want more space or more baggage or better service you have to pay for it. First class when adjusted for inflation is cheaper than flying was "in the good old days".

Now you have to go through so many hoops depending on if it’s an isle seat, middle seat, window seat, by the emergency door, back of plane, front of plane, it’s dizzying with all the different price categories. Yet top 1% of management still per an executive is taking multi million dollar bonus. the more ways they can figure out how to take money out of your pocket, the bigger their bonus are. I don’t think it’s cheaper. I remember you go to the airport last minute and get a seat on a plane on standby for less than $100. Can’t do that today.

    I don't understand the weight limits? The airlines don't weigh the people and their clothing, just one bag? So if I weigh 200 lbs and wear 10 lbs of clothing that's OK, but if my bag is 1 lb over that's a problem? If the plane has a weight limit then it cover checked bags, the people and their clothing, and anything that they carry on. Why not just weigh us with everything at the check in booths then the airlines will know what the total weight of the "cargo" is?

      The weight limit may have something to do with various unequal designs in how the luggage is loaded and unloaded. They don’t need to carry you on and off the plane. But all it takes is 1 pound more to break someone’s back.

    • @petejay75
      @petejay75 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Seohyun7 passengers should also remember to adequately identify who the luggage belongs to. Baggage tags and name tags (attached via some kind of strap) can get removed accidentally by conveyor belts or in manual handling. Once a bag has no visible identification (outside or inside the bag), it can become impossible to figure out who it belongs to. Many travellers also borrow someone elses bag and forget to put their own information onto the bag that they are using. So if their bag loses its tag, determining whose it is and finding which flight they are on is also impossible. Bags get 'lost' like this on a very regular basis and all airports have bags stored somewhere tbat they do not know how to return to their owners. Keeping your information on the bag itself will minimise the risk of this happening to you and will expedite the process of your bag being returned in the event of it being sent onto the wrong flight.

No hassles, enjoyable views, nice people, no excessive security nonsense, etc. I recently flew twice in 2024. Not having ridden an airplane in a number of years, I was appalled at all the stuff people bring on planes. Practically everything but chickens! It held up departures considerably while people had to wait for others to try and find stowage. I am glad to see the airlines finally paying more attention to this malarkey. The time saved by carry-ons is minimal, and your fellow passengers will appreciate getting on/off aircraft more quickly.

So they secretly switched to making people have to buy more luggage, because some of that luggage will be "leather products", meaning, in time they'll need more cows for all the extra leather goods. I went to South Africa on Rwandair from London. For the amazingly cheap price of £560 (return, so £280 each way) they include two 23kg checked bags (4 hour wait at Kigali for 2nd Rwandair flight)! They don't have a good rep for service and are aggressively expensive with violations. I double-checked. Unlike other sources which said 13kg, the actual website listed 7kg for overhead luggage. Dimensions included that 23cm nonsense, so my backback was suitably small. With my Mac Air I just managed to sneak under 7KG, it's pretty stingy.

I think this is partially based on the experience of low cost airlines like Ryanair, EasyJet, Frontier and Spirit.

      @KevinGonzalez33470 I get that, I think anyone who's flown on a plane understands you can be searched at any time for any reason. I'm not talking about that. Nobody is checking my devices during a layover. Sure they can but they aren't. They do it all the time at TSA screening but they aren't going to stop you unless they have a good reason after screening, even though they can and if your device is dead you'll get an opportunity to plug it in and power it up. They will literally hold the plane for a few minutes while they do. It does happen. But this vodeo implies your device is getting inspected on a layover and its not. My best friend's Dad is a TSA Agent and I know 2 DEA agents, 3 actually but the 3rd is retired. I've been on more than 12 layovers since June and my most recent was on the 24th. Good luck with that attitude.
