I know you posted this 9 months ago. I picked up a '23 S550 w/ the 10spd auto and it's glorious. I used to have a 87 camaro 5spd putting down ~830rwhp and I'm pretty sure my 'stang could keep up with it.
I definitely understand the ease of getting in and going. That’s how I feel about my Fiesta ST that’s tuned on 93 and e30. My first car was a Fully built Mazda3. It was raw and getting to the point of being a project car, not a daily.
Not a huge Mustang guy but I can appreciate what these cars have to offer in terms of performance and what the stock motors are capable of. I think you have a perfect setup for a daily, the only thing I would personally add is flex fuel. My 2020 STI is making over 900whp on E85 and is boosted cars are just so much happier with the added octane. Not to mention pump E85 is the same price as 87 octane.
@@kodyking3090 I'm using a closed deck block from Outfront Motorsports with a billet crank, pinned mains, custom JE pistons, Manley Tri-Beam rods, and King Race bearings in the bottom end. The top end is a N25 head casting, fully ported, oversized valves, BC280 cams, GSC dual conical springs with a 94lb seat, 1/2 ARP studs, and Athena ringed head gaskets. But no billet block or anything, not something anybody really runs in the Subaru world unless you just want to burn dollar bills. Close decking the factory block and pinning the mains is enough to push over 60psi in these little swiss cheese engines.
@@kodyking3090 I will say that my engine is really only setup to run 50psi or less and I usually keep it on the 36psi map to keep things on the safe side (car still make 760whp at 36psi so no slouch for a 2.5L). My engine is setup to be a fast street car. If we wanted to run over 50psi we could but I'd want to open up the ring gap and I'd probably go with a different style of head gasket too. But those changes really start to make sacrifices in streetablity and longevity.

I am all about my IS 500 (my 5th Lexus actually), but the Mustang has been my favorite muscle car since I was a kid....and I come from a diehard MOPAR family! I think you went the mature route with this one and honored it quite well. Totally digging it!
I think it's a great build the 10-speed automatic was a better choice and you recognized that. To me it's a common-sense build that came out clean and it's not overdone. You did an awesome job on this one
I think it is just perfect. All the mods you did just go together. For example, if you would have done just the super charger without suspension mods, wheels and tires, then I don’t think the experience would have been that collected. meaning, the power you have, the car now can handle it and behaves so well. Stock wheels, tires, suspension would be scary to have in a car with 750 wheel horsepower. Well done, I think that’s the perfect daily!!!
My brother has an 18 gt with a wipple and a manual and it does well. 50k miles on the clock and no issues. Not sure of the power because he bought it used with the supercharger on it. Fun car

Love what you did with this car, not my favorite looking Mustang, I prefer the 2015 to this model and my all-time favorite looking Mustang is the Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition, but you really figured out how to set it off; it looks fantastic and has the power to match. And it's not overdone, it's very tasteful - projects a powerful confidence, without all the ridiculous, over-the-top and unnecessary esthetics, like the power dome hood or ricer wing, which would actually detract from its appeal. Thanks for featuring this car, Blue Dude, it's a great example of how to turn any car you're not ecstatic about into something you'd love to sport around town!
Been a while since I’ve watched one of your videos but I have to say I love what you’ve done with it! I want a Mustang so bad it always been my dream car! My family has always driven fords in fact I learned how to drive stick in a 1990 F250 when I was 12. My aunt owned an old fox body mustang till it died and sold it and bought another mustang.
You did the right thing! I have a 2018 GT Premium with Stage 3 Whipple 10R80 and I love the 3rd gear pulls! That combination will pretty much smoke most cars on the street short of Tesla Plaid. Enjoy the newfound power!

Fellow daily 10spd S550 owner here. Only difference is I went Whipple instead of VMP. Mod for mod (except for my built motor) we’re Twinsies. Only thing I hate currently is that I have heart palpitations every time I fill up with these high @ss gas prices but other than that Sheba goes big brrr. Plus I’m close to plenty E85 stations here in Texas so fuel system coming soon 🌽
Assuming "twinsies: means you're running long tubes with performance cats, have you had any problems with Texas emissions? I'm in the planning stages for going boosted myself, but everything I've read says headers are going to fail you 100% of the time...
You're a car youtube, if you were driving around a stock mustang or a lightly modded one nobody would care. I think its definitely the right call for you and it seems extremely fun and reliable for how much power its pushing. I think this is one of the only platforms of cars you can comfortably push that much power and not have constant anxiety about it blowing the motor.
Project Smurf: Independent rear suspension swap! Interior upgrade to Alcantara on all surfaces. You did what you like to SubZero and you are happy so you did the right thing.
My good friend has a procharged 5.0L and I have a N/A setup. So I have driven both. He runs Mickey Thompson drag radials and doesn't spin when on a roll. Don`t get me wrong there is a certain wow factor to the sound and power of a boosted mustang GT. But it does turn the car into something different. I find it to be more sketchy to drive fast and never really pushing it as hard as a N/A setup. If you want something that is more confident inspiring a 500WHP N/A 5.0L is the sweet spot. I won`t say the car is ruined but its a different beast now.
You are right, with my Whippled 10R80 despite only tuned to 620WHP I double and triple check the road conditions (straight roads, good surface and no one around) before I put my foot into it and always constantly researching better tyres:) But is it worth it? Shit yeah, because when she hits and hooks there is no better feeling. Would I take it to 1000whp no way as you can’t use it properly on the street and through winding canyon roads.
@fredwilliams7893 not only is the 10 speed automatic faster, it's way faster. I literally murder anyone I run against with the manual transmission. The manual is 0-60 in 4.3 and the 10 speed is 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Lol. You can't even get a GT 500 in a manual transmission because the automatic is so much faster. They wanted only top performance for the GT 500.
Love what you did with your car. If I cannot get the Corvette C8 ZO6 within the next 2 years I will buy a new GT S650 and do similar upgrades as you did. Yes my Mustang will be my Daily driver also. Currently my DD is my Porsche 911 Turbo S and I need to keep the mileage down on it. I got on the waiting list for the ZO6 20 months ago and yet I may have a 3 year wait. Might just trade the new S650 GT in on the C8 ZO6. Great video‼️🇺🇸
My future build will be very close to this I think. VMP looks like a great option. 750 wheel daily is the dream lmao. Also love the suspension .... need to do that stuff first.
Beautiful car 😍🙌🏽 done right. I have a 2015 Gen 2 Coyote in deep impact blue and have been FBO for some years now and have done a ton of cosmetic mods, I love it! But I seriously cannot wait to go full send and boost it! 💪🏽 hopefully soon.
I have a 2020 GT CA Special that is in the same place as you were before the blower. I love the thing, I wen with a Lund tune and in S+ and Track/Drag mode the thing pulls. It's not going to walk on anything that's got forced induction, but for a daily is a blast. I want to get a procharger ASAP but saving the $$ is taking a min. The issue I find with the 10 speed in manual mode is, if you are used to a 5-6 speed, its tough to know what gear you should be in at which speed, and how many to down shift when you want to nail it, it even takes the computer a sec to figure out which gear to be in when you nail it.
I turbo'd my 370z and like you said it's pretty much the same car until you hoon it. I will say I thought about supercharging it, but ultimately figured paying more for a turbo setup would be better. Stock block making 640/540 on pump. I will say with the turbos, I get better gas mileage (+3/4 mpg) on the highway if anyone was thinking about. turbo vs. sc. Obviously you. can watch the dollars go down by the minute when you're on it. The only thing is with larger injector duty stock mileage gauge thinks im getting 8 miles to the gallon.
I just got me a 2008 mustang gt convertible. Black on black with chrome bullit wheels. Can't wait to modify my engine or even get another 4.6 engine and modify that . Having two engines does sound better. I get my exhaust in 1 week . New convertible top with a new stereo .
Beautiful car, and the mods are spot on (cosmetically). I can't even fathom wanting more power than what the new 5 L is putting out.... But then, you get used to everything and then always want more! Having had nine Mustangs in my life, I understand the addiction. I grew up in the hay day of the muscle car resurgence (the old 225hp foxbody days) - and I had a Paxton supercharged notch back that probably had 325 horsepower, and that thing was a stupid handful, but a lot of fun. Probably a 13 second car. To think that the new Mustang 5.0 with a blower more than doubles that is pretty amazing. I'd love to experience it but up here in Vancouver with gas at basically $10 a gallon (!!) - I have to stick to my lowly economical tuned GTI 😄
I don't know why anyone would complain about getting mileage in a 700hp car in the teens, my 2010 impala gets 15. Seems like you are getting a steal of a deal for gas mileage.
Wanna do that MPG calculation again? Fill your tank and clear Trip A. Next time you fill, check Trip A miles and divide that by Gallons filled at the pump. You added larger injectors, right? Your Fuel milage calculation might be off. My mpg reads 24mpg, but in reality I'm doing 16.5mpg.
You are so right about them being different cars. I drive a v6 s197 auto, and my mom drives a 2018 Ecoboost with the ten speed. Her car's chassis and transmission are leagues ahead of mine in terms of agility, comfort, and responsiveness.
I am researching/pricing out doing a coyote swap in a new edge ‘04 mustang gt and I’ve learned that the stock manual trans was a lot weaker than the corresponding automatic option, even back in 2004. Auto can handle over 700 ft-lbs while the manual can only handle about 400 ft-lbs. I’m surprised to hear this is still the case on a mustang 14 years newer and on the platform’s 2nd new chassis since the new edge.
That Megnaflow resonator is going to quite that down by ALOT. Cold start won’t be as bad but you’re gonna miss the noise when you step on it. At least that’s how I feel and I have headers with roush exhaust.
Hey bud! Love the video and appreciate the feedback after supercharging your mustang. You can also look into active exhaust so you can have the best of both worlds, loud and quit.
Would it be able to survive a track day? 4, 5 or 6- 20 minute runs on a closed course? Would temperature lights be coming on like it's Xmas?? ...and running every straightaway up to 7000 rpm?
It's a nice car. I'm not a fan of autos, but with a good hook up, you're probably between 3 and 4 second 0-60. Around the 11s in the 1/4 And still do around a G on the skid pad. This was fantasy 30 years ago.
With proper suspension and slicks he's probably a 9 second car now with 750 whp Lol Not worth the $ to build a quarter mile king anymore Better to have a super fast cruiser

I miss having boost. Love my 4runner, it's the most reliable daily ever but dang, I'd love some boost again! I had a 2005 Subie 2.5 GT pushing 330whp, can't imagine more than double that!
i bought a 3rd gen 4runner for 1500$ in 2018 and i still daily it all while having boosted cars for when i want some speed
Yeah i sold my tuned SHO for a new Mazda3 because it was a ticking hand grenade (transfer case and turbos didnt go under warranty) and gas was getting expensive. Missing my spooly bois
@@WhaddupImJohn Why didn't you just buy something with a turbo? Lots of cars have turbos these days. Massive L
I've been a manual tran/turbo/rwd fan for a loooong time. This video has got me reconsidering.
I know you posted this 9 months ago. I picked up a '23 S550 w/ the 10spd auto and it's glorious. I used to have a 87 camaro 5spd putting down ~830rwhp and I'm pretty sure my 'stang could keep up with it.
A Mustang that can smack in comfort sound and speed.
Dream setup
I definitely understand the ease of getting in and going. That’s how I feel about my Fiesta ST that’s tuned on 93 and e30. My first car was a Fully built Mazda3. It was raw and getting to the point of being a project car, not a daily.
Just got into mustangs and I can say I can’t wait til I get my 5.0. Sick car man 🔥
Not a huge Mustang guy but I can appreciate what these cars have to offer in terms of performance and what the stock motors are capable of. I think you have a perfect setup for a daily, the only thing I would personally add is flex fuel.
My 2020 STI is making over 900whp on E85 and is boosted cars are just so much happier with the added octane. Not to mention pump E85 is the same price as 87 octane.
Yea , cheaper gas.
But waste is 50% faster if pressed
Billet motor and internals?
@@PleadTheFifth_Racing damn that’s crazy bro I had no idea you could run that much boost. Very nice build
I have been to National speed with 2 cars now and I couldn't think of 1 bad thing to say about them. They are amazing. Awesome car sounds crisp!
David this was excellent move, yes this car is completely different platform then your other mustang. Automatic trans in the S550 is where it's at it's hard for me to say it as manuel owner but its the truth. Enjoy!!
any hp above 800 whp, the 10r is trash. 6r80 is better and th400 is king.
@@Kylerensolo this! People give the 10r way too much praise. It does good on na cars makes them fast because of crazy gearing mostly but isn't needed on high power cars. 6r is better for big power like you said.
So I have a question is it important to change the transmission on these after boosting the car or does the 10r80 take added power well
The one thing about the s550s that I love is at highway speeds it’s not obnoxious at all only when you get into it.
My brother has an 18 gt with a wipple and a manual and it does well. 50k miles on the clock and no issues. Not sure of the power because he bought it used with the supercharger on it. Fun car
David you did great with your S550!!! It looks amazing and performs awesome and it is reliable and you can daily drive it and any time a scatpack shows up you can dust him right off the highway!!! Whats not to like about your car. That is what I will do with my Dark Horse, exactly what you have done with your white mustang!!!! Totally Awesome‼️
Cheers Brother!!!!👍💪😎🇺🇸✝️
I was at the shop the other day when Excel was moving it around.. Thing sounds perfect. Good job.
National Speed is amazing! Love those guys! Top notch!
*Cries in MT82*
As long as you’re happy with it,which you obviously are,i think it’s perfect for you!
Honestly I love it wouldn't do anything different especially for a daily drive 👌
Pretty sweet that National Speed and VMP sponsored this video. Enjoyed the review!
What power are you at?
@@CoyoteAUS 720 wheel with stock headers and cats.
I loved my kenne bell because it was just like driving the car stock but instantly made boost when you put your foot into it. Just a nice daily driver
I think your 18 is cooking and it's one bad Pony on the street that is really a wiseman's supercar. She rocks!
Perfect idea to save alot of money because of the cost of a GT500. It looks really awesome , nice and clean.
I have a 2017 s550 pp with vmp gen3r , made 704 on mustang dyno on 93 , it's the best car you can have for the $ you spent .. I will never regret boosting it and I don't think there is people our there that regret boosting they're s550's . I have the mt82 so I live with fear 🤣🤣
You did a awesome job keep it up mannn...love the Stang she's nice
Man love the car dude ! Channel is continuing to grow !! Much inspiration for us all ! 👋🏽👋🏽 “Ciao”
I think supercharging it was the right way to go. Sounds like a beast.
I think what you did with your Mustang is awesome!!!! Keep doin you bro!!! Cant wait for the next video.
I think it's great. You do what makes you happy. One fast one for everyday driving and one to play with. What more can you ask for? 👍
I love what you’ve done to the mustang it’s so sick and is really one of the best daily drivers with the 10 speed
I daily something like this , but 16 gt auto vortech V3 8 psi e85 ( south Florida ) 700whp and it's without a doubt a reliable car and a blessing to own , what you did is basically safe your money for yourself to enjoy and do things and still have the performance or more than a Shelby or redeye 😎🤘I daily on street drag radials , nice and easy on the rain and your good
Fellow daily 10spd S550 owner here. Only difference is I went Whipple instead of VMP. Mod for mod (except for my built motor) we’re Twinsies.
Only thing I hate currently is that I have heart palpitations every time I fill up with these high @ss gas prices but other than that Sheba goes big brrr. Plus I’m close to plenty E85 stations here in Texas so fuel system coming soon 🌽
is sheba the name of your car
110% worth it!! Perfect car imo 👍🏻
The older you get... the more that 10R80 gets better! Especially in stop n go..
Never! Just means your starting to get lazy! Honestly! Real performance car enthusiasts will keep a manual no matter what!
@@fredwilliams7893”real performance car enthusiasts “ , so if someone prefers an auto they’re not a real car enthusiast?😂
@@anaccount7923this Fred guy doesn't know shit about Mustangs. He probably drives a Camry. Lol
@@tyarnold4088still not as fun, idc how much faster it is
You did what I'm doing to my 2021. I won't be nearly that low though. I will be getting a pump and e85 tunes since I have no problem finding e85.
I love the simplicity and speed.
I have a 2015 Roush w/ a manual. I find myself just not using 1st gear a lot. Starting in 2nd feels a lot like first to me.
S550 is the way to go! I love mine.
Nothing better than having a comfortable daily with all the tech and a V8 with a supercharger! Just budget for gas and tires, is all I can say.
Cool to see u have both the 13’ and the 18’ stangs. I personally don’t like the s550s too much but man do I love my 14’ 5.0.
Absolutely worth it Good choice 👍
Nice. Excellent build. Too easy with the Gen3 Coyote, blower and the10R80.
Full bolt on's and a really good tune including a Trans tune on a A10 S550 is faster than most things on the road today.
Absolutely, good decision making
I'm not really into Mustangs but yours is sick
He makes me want one
Cant go wrong with the big three, easy power and alot more cost effective than euro/ jdm
Absolutely.. LS HEMI and COYOTE are great platforms to make great power .. fun and not crazy expensive
Watching boost temps go down is my favorite. What an awesome setup! I still want you to review my 07 Saleen S331 SC
Hi David!! Love this build!!
Good job David! I never met a quality mod I didn't like. Congrats on doing it the right way and enjoy your super stallion!
I don't know why anyone would complain about getting mileage in a 700hp car in the teens, my 2010 impala gets 15. Seems like you are getting a steal of a deal for gas mileage.
Beautiful car and boost was well worth it! 🇺🇸
Amazing you even answered my question haha. I think it’s sick AF.
What size mps4s are you on? I'm on a 295 mps4s and should be around 650whp. It seems you're hooking pretty well for having 750whp.
Nothing like a good performance car shop
I am researching/pricing out doing a coyote swap in a new edge ‘04 mustang gt and I’ve learned that the stock manual trans was a lot weaker than the corresponding automatic option, even back in 2004.
Auto can handle over 700 ft-lbs while the manual can only handle about 400 ft-lbs.
I’m surprised to hear this is still the case on a mustang 14 years newer and on the platform’s 2nd new chassis since the new edge.
But where are all the other cars??? I legit haven't seen you 240 in yrs. Perhaps a vid on updates on the fleet?
Sweet!
I’ve got a 2012 boss 302. A 98 cobra and my newest addition a 2014 SE velociraptor 600. Ford raptor.
I was driving my supercharged 2011, 6 speed as a daily until about a year ago. It was great. Gas prices just got ridiculous here in Ca.
It’s super dope. One day I hope to have one like it.
That Megnaflow resonator is going to quite that down by ALOT. Cold start won’t be as bad but you’re gonna miss the noise when you step on it. At least that’s how I feel and I have headers with roush exhaust.
Love it bro. I love mine too much to daily it. But then I don’t get to enjoy it and it’s just sitting there 😵💫
Hey bud! Love the video and appreciate the feedback after supercharging your mustang. You can also look into active exhaust so you can have the best of both worlds, loud and quit.
Nice shots at Russell, awesome road.
Carparts is amazing!
I think it's amazing keep the good work
I think that was awesome what you did to it, I have a 2015 GT premium mustang and I would love to do that to mine but it’s expensive
Would it be able to survive a track day? 4, 5 or 6- 20 minute runs on a closed course? Would temperature lights be coming on like it's Xmas?? ...and running every straightaway up to 7000 rpm?
Love it! 🧡 Well done 💯
It's a nice car. I'm not a fan of autos, but with a good hook up, you're probably between 3 and 4 second 0-60.
Around the 11s in the 1/4
And still do around a G on the skid pad.
This was fantasy 30 years ago.
10 speeds can do this stock. That’s a 10 second car easy.
With proper suspension and slicks he's probably a 9 second car now with 750 whp
Lol
Not worth the $ to build a quarter mile king anymore
Better to have a super fast cruiser
It should run 10s pretty easily. Depends on da et can swing widely depending on that but it's safe to say in most situations it'll easily go 10s.
@@SkullcrusherGamingTV they can run real high 11 in perfect air stock. People exaggerate their performance as if you can just easily rip off deep 11s anywhere bone stock lol. In perfect da with perfect launch it can go 11.8-11.9 when stock and 3.9 0-60 in the same perfect conditions. I doubt it will see that 0-60 now with the tires he's on it isn't gonna hook that power and 0-60 is more about traction than anything. I'd say it should easily run 10s in most places.
@@Highlander1432 I doubt it's gonna do 9s that would really be pushing it. It takes 800+ usually to dip into the 9s. With a badass suspension and tire and weight reduction it may be able to dip into the 9s but it's in the 10s more likely than not.
