Brilliant video. I'm supporting a friend on leg 3 for her attempt in May so it's great to see the route in such detail. Thanks!

I've had Covid for the last 3 weeks and now watched most of your video's. Some great footage and commentary and really enjoyed watching them all. I hopefully will be out soon back in the Lakes to enjoy the fells. I hope our paths cross out on the hill so I can say "hello and thanks." Keep up the great camera work!

Thank you Leon, really appreciate your kind words. Hope you’re getting over it though know how you feel. We’ve both been ill for a few weeks now (didn’t test for Covid) which has taken bucket loads of energy and made everything so much more difficult. Seemingly getting a little better now so fingers crossed it’s the same for you 👍

Can I comment as a supremo of many Dark Peak attempts. This is great example of proper pacing and good balancing over rocky ground. Keeping up that effort, they (and anyone else) can get round easily in under 24 hours. On the route taken, I prefer doing Sergeant Man before High Raise (but it only saves a minute or so). There was a quicker more direct route up Bowfell (maybe 10 minutes quicker) - Billy Bland's Rake - that follows a line of miniscule cairns slanting under the Hanging Knots crags. Having said that, if you miss the cairns, you get dragged into climbing up the very steep gullies through Hanging Knotts (as happened to me on my first Bob Graham). They got Scafell dead right showing that the West Wall traverse etc is much safer and not much slower than Broad Stand. To repeat, this an ideal example of the spirit, intelligence and effort needed to do the Round.

Thank you very much, such nice comments which we both really appreciate.
We’re aware of the more direct route to Bowfell from Rossett Pike but yet to recce it. Surely it has to be a better alternative than going by Ore Gap! Hopefully we’ll get chance this year to take a look.
I only every stood at the foot of Broad Stand once on a wet and murky day which left the rock very wet and slippery. One look towards my left and 60ft or so drop convinced me to turn around! Experience with ropes for protection needed…

I love this video and I am in awe of you guys. Really well filmed, no commentary, no fake running past the camera, I got a real sense of what it was like to be there. After almost every summit I let out a "wow" with the view. Even the wind noise made it more realistic. I complain about ploughed fields in my videos, that trek up to Broad Crag and Scafell Pike put that in perspective! The smiles became just that bit more strained as the run went on, I could sense the tiredness. I am looking forward to your next expedition. All the best to you both.

Thank you very much! Your comments really cheered us up during a dull Monday and prompted us to remember the fantastic day out we had on Saturday even though it was painful at times! Also great to hear what we do is appreciated and the perspective we aim to portray is well received. Thank you again 😊

Nice job Gary! Especially with making it a round trip back to the start line.. now that's what I call a big day!

Thanks. It was definitely a tough day for us. I’d hate to think how it would feel after a full round!!

Excellent video! Tough route, well done. It brings me back nice memories of the Lakes. I have done the 10Peaks challenge 5 times, it has been renamed and rerouted now The Kong Lakes Ultra. I remember going up to Bowfell via High Rise, following the ridge to Scafell Pike via Esk Pike, Great End and the two Crags then going up to Scafell via either Lords Rake (When the big rock was still at the top) or Fox Tarn. I didn't know about the West Wall Traverse, it looks a beautiful scramble, I'm a South American that lives in Sussex, love mountains as i was born in the Andes and that section you're running on reminds me of "El Paramo" in the highlands of Ecuador. Happy New Year

Thank you very much, such nice comments which are very much appreciated!
We'll have a look at the route you mentioned, now the Kong Lakes Ultra, sounds interesting...
It's a very tough and varied route with a crazy mixture of terrain that should satisfy most people and always tough when ascending via High Raise. We've never quite fancied ascending Scafell via Foxes Tarn for some reason, maybe its just bad enough descending on the boulderery scree slope that we could imagine an ascent that way! Definitely Lords Rake and WWT for us! Hope you're still getting out and about as mountains for us are all about the escape from the reality of our everyday lives. Love them!! Thanks again and wishing you the very best for New Year.

@@TrailRunningCouple I still run on the South Downs, not as challenging as Wales or the Lakes but enough to keep me in shape. I will follow you in your adventures and hope there will be many in 2022. Best wishes

Nice video guys, fantastic views, before clouds kicked in. That descent and then ascent down/up scree looked horrible, looked similar to the one up Carneddau /Snowdonia

It’s definitely tough. We tried the route two weeks prior but bailed at Scafell Pike and returned back. It was a hot day and nutrition was definitely overlooked!!
Really do appreciate your comments. Thank you!
