I disagree on the early game, for me I found it as a good way to find weaknesses and resistances involving spells early game, but it was somewhat dependent on luck
I agree you still have a distinction in class with Bianca having fireballs and Dazzle to stun enemies and you just coming and healing everyone or hitting them with your weapon. There is still strategy in the early game and enemies all have different resistances and attacks you have to look out for so you have to prioritize who to hit first with what. It's not like it's any different in any of the other games either you only get one partner about two hours in and then it's about three hours until next party member comes
Also the early game is only dependent on luck Regarding Critical Hits You can still Dazzle enemies as Bianca early on. And again luck is only needed if you have not leveled up enough by just roaming around fighting monsters the game is as hard as you make it which is what I love about it.
Dragon Quest 5 and Chrono Trigger are both gold standard examples of classic JRPGs at their best. But I do think some later games in the Dragon Quest series end up outdoing 5; 11 in particular is probably the best game in the series. Still, a remake would do wonders for 5.

PC won't work, so they have to remake it again so it would actually have better widescreen because it kind of suffers widescreen. Also bring back the feature of lifting and throwing the pots and barrels and/or flowers and alcohol bottles because I miss that a lot that it's supposed to be the graphics from DQVII on PSX/PS1. Also last add character filler to DQVI since the DS remake was just not great of a story to hang on because characters are too foreshadowing with not enough details of what is going on to explore.

when I was a kid I always played rpg games like suikoden series, ff series, and others. but I accidentally passed this game until finally Netflix made a film about this game. I finish the movie with joy and searched about the characters in the film and found out that the film is about dq 5. is dragon quest story from 1 until 5 or more connected with each other ?

Yes it's worth it, also try the free DQ mobile games like Dragon Quest Tact (which is awesome, you fight and recruit monsters), and also DQ Of The Stars where you can customize your own little hero which is also cool.
this game does everything better than chorno trigger in my opinion.. the music is even better here... (well maybe doesn't beat frogs theme..) but still this game is awesome especially when papas dies i was so shocked and sad... with the panther looking for the hero. the only shock factor i got in chrono trigger is when lucca's mom loses her legs and screams.
The Mobile version of DQ4 has the party chat again. So unless you are Japanese the mobile version is the best for that game. I hope 4-9 get ported to modern consoles soon cuz DQ V DS is going for a lot now
This guy complaining about how Bianca is useless in the first boss fight while I'm here grinding to level 10 after 30 minutes sweeping that boss after a minute spamming a group fire magic thing.
Man I loved your roast of Dragon Quest 2, I played the GBC version based off the SNES version only released in Japan and it was bad, I would love to hear a review/roast on it, preferably on the NES so it’s the least balanced and the one with the least QOL features. Also the NES of Dragon Quest 2 has a final boss with FullHeal. So yeah I’d love to hear a review on that shit. 😂
also sounds like you should have grinded more in the first area outside the castle, I did it and stomped the boss and got everyone some decent equipment so I and Bianca was doing pretty good damage with normal attacks and had a decent MP pool
DQ 5 was my first Jrpg and it's still my favourite game of all time

How about buying some medicinal herbs for when you run out of MP. I stock up on various healing items for that scenarios, even if it never comes up.
