There is only one squid king , that’s me , you are the Squid GOD, Onya nev , love it , I’m into the same kind of fishing, land based , off rocks and off the beach. Caught squid in a lot of areas in port Phillip and western port. Hope to see ya out there one day.

Awesome vid bro, love fishing always wanted to catch some squid and fish of the sea. Never done surf fishing before (or sea fishing for that matter) and it's going to be my first time very soon (hoping to catch lots of fish). This video helps a lot. Thanks man.

Hey mate you should try and get your hands on and review those LED green lights that sit on the sand and reeds and see if they actually attract squid and other fish. Might make a good vid if it works or if it's a myth.

Got any advice for someone new to vic? I'm from NSW and targeted flathead with soft plastics land based up in newcastle. Been out about 6 or 7 times since moving here to vic and can't seem to find the flatties, dont get a single bite at all. I've tried St Kilda Pier, altona pier, werribee river entrrance pier. Having a real tough time its making me kind of homesick, any beaches or piers you recommend for some flatties or even new species for me to try and fish?

That’s a good question I’ve been having trouble at my usual squid spots lately I dunno why, but no swell, an hour before and after the peak of high tide. Usually if you get that at sunset I have found it to be the most productive. But what moon phases do you want, more tidal movement(full moon) or less tidal movement (dark moon or no moon however you say it)
I hope this boost popularity for this comment because it’s a question that never gets answered to a lot of squid fishing videos, but an important one
