Yes Nev flathead were my target species when i lived in Batemans Bay. Now I’ve been in WA for almost 20years i don’t fish very much at all. Health reasons stop me mainly. But I’d love to see you getting amongst the flatties. Cheers mate great video too by the way. Lurve the Squid 🦑

Mate get your kayak down to lake tyres now. I got a 83cm Taylor on my yak there. Mouth is open atm and the fishing is going nuts with MOSTA duskys being caught. Might be some good prawns in there too atm that could make a good video.

A little trick I found out when I was kayaking: if you snag a jig paddle over to the snag and drop the anchor on the weeds where the jig is. After the anchor has hit the ground rip it up and it slips through the weeds knocking your jig free! Love the work Nev. Also, was wondering what rods you use

Hi Nev love your dedication its infective im an old school fisho and i think its great that you get all this footage from your kayak , i do the same type of fishing in my small 5.5 mtr fiberglass 75 hp boat usually solo fishing , i am very similar as i try to work out each tide wind, bait ,fish rod combination its the moist invigorating thing you can do , once its in your blood you have it forever ,ie i started fishing at 10 and im 55 now , the only request i have is to ask for more indepth knowledge descriptipon of rigs ,, all fishing shows never shown you that ,,they always show the fish being caught i know that’s the money shot but as a fisho , thats the end result ,, not the how to I’m always interested in the how too . my favorite squid bait is weedy whiting, they love them especially when squiding over weed beds, its what squid will be hunting when they are around weed beds, green jig works really well too

Great Vlog mate , it’s funny how we all have our favourite colour jigs while squid are colour blind . I guess it is all about confidence, profile and movement .

Have you changed your set up since the last videos ? Do you use a snap swivel > ball sinker (what size ? ) > then float > the float stopper / tape ? In the other video you ran the leader through the float twice. Do you still do that or just use a stopper. Could you explain it to me please.
