I'm one of those Snyder haters & I was really satisfied with this film. Sure, it had plenty of faults, but it improves upon BVS & Josstice league.
In the snyder cut the viewers actually get to know Flash and Cyborg and connect with them better. And Batman returned to his bvs coolness. And pretty much everyone was better and cooler, even Alfred.
I was so invested after seeing the scene where he realizes his potential. (That scene made me shed man tears.) So invested he felt like the main character of the movie!
Yea, Cyborg and Flash were so forgettable, useless, soulless characters. And now, damn, they were so good. When Cyborg accepted who/what he is and that there is nothing wrong with him was such a deep and important moment I can't believe it was cut from the 2017 version. And Flash reversing time left me speechless, Flash finally isn't just a comedic relief.

The Joker/Batman scene didn't just seem tacked on, it was tacked on. Snyder admits that he only added it in because he wasn't sure if he'd get to continue the universe and he wanted to give Leto's Joker a chance to interact with Affleck's Batman. Sort of a redemption chance for Joker. Snyder has mentioned that several times in interviews.
The Knightmare sequence itself was tacked on, but at least Joker himself was good. I have a feeling the scene would've worked better as a post credits sequence.

Can we talk about how my boy Steppenwolf was redeemed from the theatrical cut? I thought the special effects would come out bad, but every time he was on screen he looked pretty damn good.
Better yet that was actually Steppenwolf's goal, to redeem himself in the eyes of Darkseid to return home rather than poorly render Norman Bates that just wants to rule over earth for reasons
The cgi on steppenwolf and darkseid was not that great, specifically the reflective and detail lighting... a couple times it looked like a cut scene from a AAA video game. But did it really take away from the movie, no. So I don’t care. But definitely a step up from the theatrical release 4yrs ago

He may have had complete creative freedom on "Episode I" and "Episode II," but he still didn't want to direct them himself. And it shows. He wanted OTHER directors to write and direct I and II, with him only being open to writing and directing "Episode III" (if even that). Why are people so shocked about how good it was? It should've been obvious from the trailers that it was gonna be good. People are just out of touch...
The fact they made each character so irreplaceable is what made the film for me. If a single member of the league was missing then they would have lost without a doubt.

Liked aquaman , loved , cyborg liked the flash , Batman and Superman however 🤦♀️ while I had some issues with the film (took us three sittings) I would say not bad I would like to see how the people that liked the theatrical cut of the movie feel about this version.
Was quite a poignant moment, which felt like Snyder was speaking vicariously through Clark, when he said to Lois: "I've been given a second chance, and I'm not gonna waste it".
I really enjoyed what they did with Martian Manhunter, reminded me of the comic books growing up where before joining the JLA he was already helping them without their knowledge, testing & seeing if he could trust them, a hidden guardian of Earth. Felt like the film captured his comic personality well before his main debut!
The problem continuity-wise is that Martians and Kryptonians are about equal power-wise in the comics, each of them the most powerful species in the entire Universe. They're so powerful, in fact, that the Guardians quietly moved each species to a place which would nerf their powers to keep them from ruling the Universe. If Darkseid waited for the death of the last of the Kryptonians to make his move on Earth (which is what's implied in the movie), then why wasn't he given pause by the last of the Martians on the same planet?
@mmm mmm He did. We saw what happened, with the Amazonians, Atlanteans, and Green Lantern Corps teaming up to stop him. It's possible the Martians were also there at the time (and possibly even the Kryptonians).

A great movie that is so deeply connected to Zack Synder on so many levels. The connection that Zack Snyder has to the characters of DC goes beyond being a fan/storyteller. These characters are heroes because of the tragedy that they overcome. Being an adoptive parent like Zack Snyder ties you spiritually to the plight of orphans and children who have lost parents. Like Superman, Batman, Superman, Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, etc. The league makes these characters whole.
Idk she seemed the exact same from the theatrical version. My brother and I laughed at how she fought against the bank robbers how unnatural she looked, like the movie was being sped up
@raphshady Well let’s think about it for a moment. Slow motion was mainly used with Wonder Woman and The Flash, who are fast. It’s cool to see what they are actually doing in those scenes. For example, Wonder Woman blocks and dodges two bullets in slow motion before the scene returns to its normal speed. It’s a visual representation of the power. Snyder shows you what these super powered people are doing before he allows you and your brain to figure out the rest. Some slow motion scenes did go for too long but I wasn’t too worried about that. Slow motion is a stylistic choice for Zach
The flash is my favorite character in this movie - is scenes felt so genuine and heartfelt. Especially his introduction - if he had batman's mentality he'd be a 1 man army.
I mean. He can. Just not in the DCEU, because an established main character changing would be weird. But if an unattached movie appeared someday for superman i don't need it to be him.
PLEASE NOOO MORE!!!! Cavill is a good Super Man sure, but easily replaceable. I would love it if Warner Bros announced that this DCEU was over and done with. They can start over fresh in a few years when they have a cohesive plan in place that isn’t trying so desperately to ride Marvels coattails from the very start. But even then I don’t trust WB to do it right anyway.
The multiple endings was fan service.. they were probably shot to give an indication of what a second movie was going to be and no one made the decision on which one.. so they were all included..

They needed to make orgin films for the characters if they wanted to rather than trying to cram it all into a Justice League movie. Getting Cyborg's tacked on orgin story is similar to if we'd had Bucky's origin story tacked on to the Avengers. It doesn't make sense. Cyborg wasn't even part of the Justice League first of all. I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the reason why The Irishman was released on Netflix vs theaters was because Martin Scorsese made such a long movie that he was able to make what he wanted without restriction on time.
it was mainly because he wanted WAY to much money. The budget for the film was $160 million dollars...... for a mafia movie..... that means it’d have to make about $350 million dollars to break even. That’s not going to happen. It’s not a superhero movie or blockbuster. No studio in their right mind was going to pay for that. And they didn’t. Netflix offered because they want to build their brand are okay with losing money if it means big directors and actors are working for them and building their brand. The movie had no right to be that expensive when movies like “the invisible man” are being made for $7 million, great budget, cast, cgi looked good and it made almost $150 million.

Sort of a redemption chance for Joker. Snyder has mentioned that several times in interviews.

In just one scene, I managed to care and learn more about these characters than the entirety of the Whedon cut.
They felt like a team in this movie, in the original they felt like a group of assholes forced to work together after meeting 15 mins ago.

@@jamesmason7979 The way I see it is if they’re smart then this is the new canon. Its been like 1 day and the voices of the fandom has clearly chosen the snydercut. Same case for star wars, they should retcon the sequel trilogy to make way for the plans of all the new series coming! The fans deserve to choose and the companies should listen! We all benefit that way
A great movie that is so deeply connected to Zack Synder on so many levels.

I just hope they continue. Cavill can't be replaced. He is such a great Superman. Same for all other cast. They need to continue.
Yea. This really needs to continue.
I mean. He can. Just not in the DCEU, because an established main character changing would be weird. But if an unattached movie appeared someday for superman i don't need it to be him.
yeah casting was great in hindsight
Henry will never be truly likeable like Reeve. The only irreplacable actors are Gal Gadot and Mamoa, and potentially whoever played Deathstroke
Well, the first part of the ending, which is Lex and Deathsroke, was setting the Batffleck movie. And the Knightmare and MM sequences are for the JL 2 & 3.

Yeah....because Snyder had 4 hours. Whedon had to fit everything into 2 hours so he had to cut all the backstories. As well that they didn’t think it was going to make money in theaters
it was mainly because he wanted WAY to much money.
