I’m always amazed by the amount and size of fish that you catch. You can really spot the active fish in the current! I’m from Holland and we don’t have rivers like this. We still have humongous pike but its way harder to actually catch one, and youre catching them on lures! Cool to see the difference in countries, UK pikes are definitely more aggressive😂🙌🏼 great video!
tbf I've fished in the UK for over 10 years now and this level of activity, size and success of pike fishing is incredibly rare. You'll notice that everyone in the comments is amazed
@@lukescovell8294 exactly. Slovakia here. 8 trips for pike so far this fall on the live bait!!!!! Not a single bite. Just watching this after 2 day marathon on the big lake crying :D
im not bragging, but most of the lakes or ponds i fish are all within 3 quarters of an hr from my house in n.ireland, they are mostly farmland lakes and throw fish at me all day. i fish a small lake that when in high water two guys go out on float tubes with the fly, and i see them slipping out of the lake and directly into a joining lake....i asked about catches!....they kept very quiet lol, so m friend and i done a night session.......turns out its full of big pike!, me and friend both had about half dozen pike each all around 19lb....and smallest being 13, most of them where all 17, 18, or 19lb....unbelievable little lake! you guys need to get a trip over here, and hook up with someone who knows the small secret lakes!🎣😏
You dont wanna be in Romania, when it comes to pike fishing. Here, c&r is very rare, everybody is taking even the smaller pikes home. I’ve been more than once in the situation of “wtf are u doing releasing the pike?! If you don’t need it, give it to me!”.
I live near this guy and I'm always walking up and down the same canals and rivers with the dog looking for fish. Let me tell you, these waters are not easy to fish. Chris's ability to spot fish is about the best I've ever seen!
I once spent a couple hours fishing on this river to no avail. Then Chris followed me down catching some fantastic perch and a nine pound pike from the exact swims I had just failed to catch in.He is a totally awesome angler, even so he will still gladly share his knowledge
Walking, peddling and fishing all day with a broken toe ain’t no joke mate… you’re a proper trooper, and what an amazing session it turned out to be. The way you spotted that big pike, the thought process and perseverance to get it to bite were outstanding. Well done to you!
Excellent channel Chris. I'm completely hooked on your style of "in the moment" presentation. No more sitting around for hours watching a float for me.I'll be seeking out the fish next session. Cheers mate, keep up the great work.
I caught my first big pike today, kept my calm and got it un hooked and on its merry way, inspired by you, thanks mate, I really appreciate the videos you put out, very informative and now Im catching! Thank you thank you thank you 😊
Cracking video once again Chris, I am quite surprised more people don’t try sight fishing and using a lure, because it’s active and there’s no better feeling when you hook up and land a fish you’ve spotted whatever type of fishing you do.
Hey fella another really interesting video and a great amount of action to be seen once again. I think you may have to rest that foot for a while! the fish at least will be pretty pleased about that, I'm sure. I never fail to enjoy your uploads and will continue to look forward to seeing another one again as soon as you are out and about. Take it easy and thanks for posting.
holy shit bro. at 6:49 the pike came up like a U boat. bloody awesome that was, well done lad, nice fishing. you defo put the effort in and deserve all the rewards.
Brilliant session off fishing some cracker pike Chris u hav a gd eye for spotting them i love pike fishing too can't wait to see the next one great job 👍
Nice video. You got good-sized pike in your country and it's easy to catch. Using large lures, you get almost trophy-sized pikes. Good luck in the future. Greetings from the Lithuanian Republic.
Such a fat beast! Never ceases to amaze me how big some of the fish are in the small waters in the UK. I would never expect to find a tank like that in Canada swimming in such skinny waters. Cheers!
wow... a proper 'chubmuncher' and doubly exciting because you weren't fishing 'blind' thanks for the great vids. it's a hard job but someone's got to do it :)
Nice setup, i use the revo beast x with a Westin W3 40-130 g, works like a charm. The reel is such a power house and with a heavy braid it's so nice that if you get stuck in a log or something, you can just pull so hard that you only straighten the hook instead of losing the lure. And a tip: don't let the pike "rest" in the net, pike become more stressed and more lactic acid gets released the longer they are in a net so if you want to be kind to the fish, unhook, document and release as fast as you can.
just came back from a pike fishing trip in friesland (Netherlands) with my dad, never expected to catch 15 pikes in 3 days at the end of october. also caught a PB of 103 cm on a savage gear pikefighter. anyway love the videos mate keep up those positive vibes and most importantly keep fishing :)
@@simdal3088 indeed they do as ive now experienced, me and my dad having been visiting the same spot each year since 07 and we have never had a "bad" weekend yet.
First hope your foot gets better soon. Your videos get better and better I look forward to seeing your videos each week that 16lb pike was awesome mate.
Just watched this again, probably my favourite pike fishing video I have seen. That's a great river where you fish, it looks perfect with a full range of species, and they are mostly a good size you catch. When I used to go fishing in river Wey in Surrey it was never anywhere near as good as that, but it looked similar to your river in some stretches, you might be lucky to catch a few chub, not many pike, a few perch there too, but mostly small
Yet again more stonking fish on the bank, you certainly do have some absolutely awesome days fishing your neck of the woods, wherever that might be, fishing bare foot ? Different, dedication I guess. Some of the lures you have been using look so ungainly and awkward some might think what the heck ??? But, they do actually put fish on the bank. Good to see such querky baits being used and producing. Keep them coming Chris.
Hope your ok dude what a trouper , and what a session you always amaze me how many fish you catch and there all monsters ! Well done brilliant vid really enjoyed it take it easy and rest your foot up 👍
Nice to see the riverways you fish looking so healthy, in regard to water quality and species doing well. Nice one!. Maddog (expat course fisherman) Melbourne Aus.
Always enjoy your videos mate . I have to agree with the guy from Scotland, here in Northern Ireland the pike numbers have been drastically reduced as well, it's not a good news for freshwater habitats as they get rid of weak or diseased fish .
You've proper spurred me on to spend more time with a lure setup. Grabbed a fox warrior rage setup and took it out Saturday for an hour. 2 nice pike to around 5lb and so much fun. Can drag things in like that on my carp gear but had to let them play a bit on the 8footer. Great videos every time. 👏
That's what i've been using since starting in january, the pike cast and the spinning one. Both awesome cheap rods, landed probably about 20 or so in that time. Can't give those rods enough credit really well made.
Fantastic video Chris, I'm very new to pike fishing and I see you handle the bikes very well...have you ever done a video showing how to handle a bike in that safe manner?
Got to say, this channel gets better and better !!
Best channel on U tube by a long way, brilliant.
Love it Chris, best fishing content on TH-cam by a country mile 👌

That moment when that massive pike came out for your lure...it was like a torpedo ! Amazing footage!
