I'm retired, so i avoid fishing weekends. But it's hard to beat a fresh cup of coffee, my bagel with cream cheese, and a Saturday morning NDYak Angler video. Like many here, it's perfect .

Who simply enjoys the peaceful atmosphere of the pond, listening to the sounds of nature and the narrator's voice, rather than focusing on the actual fishing?
My favorite non-educational fishing channel BY FAR! This guy got me back into fishing after 15+ year hiatus. Been angling since I was 3-4 years old and just stopped when I graduated school. Now I'm 36 and fishing in local competitions and learning from a few of my local pros like Trey McKinney(Bassmaster AOY and he's my neighbor). Also have my own bigmouth bass and bluegill stocked pond that's about 20 years old now. Cheers brotha'!
@@Kltpzyxm17 I have such stupid good luck that my favorite fishing spot IS AT MY JOB. I work at a courthouse right next to a state prison property. Tucked on the border of our properties is about 6 acres of the best bass fishing water I've ever been on. It's 100% government property, tree lined so it is hidden, no trespassing, and several recorded 5-pound and 6-pound largemouth caught and released.👍🏻🎣 It's a total cheat code!!!
I'm retired here in northeast MN and new to kayaking and starting to fish again after a long time away so I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. You give a great perspective. Keep it up!
Even in places that are heavily fished you just have to be willing to go to the launch that's a pain in the ass, or to go farther up the river than everyone else. Yesterday I hit up my favorite smallie river and it was loaded with anglers. I waded 2 miles up that baby and caught my nicest fish of the season and a whole lot of peace and quiet!
Awesome video, really liked the short edits of you casting to different spots showing where you threw the lure. And what a beast Pike at the end hitting the lure with such force right on queue!
I’m saving this for tomorrow morning! Sunday morning with the Bob Ross of fishing, cup of coffee and wishing I could afford a European fishing permit in front of my house 🤘
I got to say your confidence in picking up those monsters with teeth is awesome. I've caught some pretty big musky and I'm scared to death to handle them. Another great video!
I took a hook through the top of my thumb trying to unhook another pike on this trip. Too much blood so I had to leave it out of the video though. I knew it was going to happen, he was hooked in an awkward spot where I couldn’t grab it and sure enough he thrashed and buried a hook in me. I should bring a lip gripper for those fish hooked in a tough spot.
It is so refreshing to see a great fisherman struggle with scum, weeds in the hooks, bird nest in the line, hooks stuck in the net, fish on getting tangled with the 2nd rod that was NOT put back in the proper place!! I thought that I was the only one with these problems! :)
Great video! I live in the East of England, and in summer it’s very swampy. I use a Heddon Moss Boss, and a Norman Weed Walker, as many of the strikes on hollow frogs and toads don’t stay attached. The Moss Boss in particular is great and you can fish it in lots of different ways! Tight lines and keep making these great films !
That hookup around 7:00 min mark reminds me of one trip as I was at the end of a retrieve, just as I lifted it off the water, a huge pike launched straight out of the inky depths and into the boat like a missile, landing on my open tackle tray, and proceeding to thrash my lures everywhere including overboard (lucky all floaters/top waters) before I got the situation under control. Lol. No hook set, no net, just straight into the boat and full on mayhem. To this day, I'm convinced it was part of a plan to try and prevent me from catching him and all his buddies.....
Those were some serious Northern Pike...that last one you caught was an absolute monster...very, very few anglers will ever catch a pike near that size & quality, & you're doing it with regularity, while making it look easy...I've fished the BWCA with a guide & it was by far the best fresh water fishing I've ever done...plus, I love to eat great tasting fresh water fish
Always a great Saturday starting with my coffee and a NDYakAngler Video! This trip my friend you were having all kinds of fun trying to land those fish and fighting your gear! 😂
I’ve really come to appreciate this channel. Just love his demeanor out there on the water. Let me recommend Desert Drifter if you think you’d appreciate a somewhat similar demeanor from someone exploring the Southwest.
Just landed a 33.2in 9.5 lb pike on a whopper plopper, bent one of the trebles. Top water is awesome, especially when they breach trying to grab it. Always enjoy your uploads and sharing your gear stats, thanks!
I can't believe you fished that whole time with one of your rods hanging off the front of your Kayak. I just kept waiting for disaster, and then it came. Thank goodness you didn't break your rod. ..but then you just kept fishing with one of your rods hanging off the front. ??? You are definitely a braver man than I would be! ...That was a fun looking trip. You also showed some great dedication by waiting out a storm in your truck for hours. It sure did pay off. I've gotten a pike maybe 4 times smaller than the smal one you got on this video and those scare the crap out of me.... I would not know what to do with a beast that size..... wow.... great video!!!!! thank you!!
I finally got a kayak. Except that it has an electric trolling motor. And a vee bottom. Oh, and it’s 19’ long. And has a 115hp outboard. But other than those things, it’s exactly like this one here. 😁
NDYakAngler enhances your Self-efficacy in more ways than just fishing, just by simply enjoying observing a man doing what he obviously loves. Thank you NDYakAngler for just being you and let all of us observe for all these years. You truly create good, quality and highly beneficial videos, so please keep em coming.
Truly, watching this video makes you forget that you are not the one who is fishing. You become absorbed in what you are seeing and, for example, I was suffering if at the end that big pike got unhooked. Fortunately it was possible to hold and contemplate that huge and beautiful animal. A great morning of fishing that leaves you very happy on the trip back home.
