wow just commenting to say a huge THANK YOU VERY MUCH. So my notebook locked itself out of nowhere yesterday then shut down and it just wouldn’t turn back on. freaked out immediately but I couldn’t try to find for a way to fix it right away as I was late to work. Long story short, I literally spent hours trying for a solution but nothing worked, and yeah, I long pressed the heck out of that power button and nothing, no lights, no fans, no sounds, no sign of life. Whose bright idea was it to have a built in battery? I have worked as a CAD Manager IT manager for 30 years and nothing will keep me from being a repeat customer like a propriety system. I consider an inaccessible battery to fall in the same catagory. I mean seriously aren't the landfills full of enough electronics as it is? These pc systems are so inexpensive that before someone will try to find and fix their own system when you have to take it apart and probably destroy it because of those ribbon cables and possibly hurt yourself by accidentally touching the power supply, they will simply buy another system by another company I did And I somewhat know what I'm doing I won't buy for the companies I support. A potential loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars HP is the biggest offenders. Computers printers as well as other peripherals. And at one time they had the best laser printers and plotters. Now they make systems that end up trashed Thanks for letting me vent
Thanks for this! Btw, I have a non removable battery and I don't have tools to open up my laptop. I just tried to hold the power button for 1 minute and thankfully my laptop turned on. 😭
@@PC_Monkey hey buddy I want to tell that after following the instruction and booting the laptop every thing was fine so I shut it down using the power button and when I connected the other ribbon cable and when I try to turn it on again I see only the charging light is on but my laptop won't turn on. I'm stuck trying to figure figure out what to do
For me, I just needed to hold the button down for 1-2 mins (without charger) then plug the charger back in and tap the power button once. I'm using asus btw. I don't know if this will work for you but if you're scared to remove the battery try this.

These pc systems are so inexpensive that before someone will try to find and fix their own system when you have to take it apart and probably destroy it because of those ribbon cables and possibly hurt yourself by accidentally touching the power supply, they will simply buy another system by another company
I did
And I somewhat know what I'm doing
I won't buy for the companies I support. A potential loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars
HP is the biggest offenders. Computers printers as well as other peripherals.
And at one time they had the best laser printers and plotters.
Now they make systems that end up trashed
Thanks for letting me vent
wow thanks for this i now know i need a new battery for my laptop keep up the good support with dropping gems😁👍🏼

@@PC_Monkey hey buddy I want to tell that after following the instruction and booting the laptop every thing was fine so I shut it down using the power button and when I connected the other ribbon cable and when I try to turn it on again I see only the charging light is on but my laptop won't turn on. I'm stuck trying to figure figure out what to do
@@PC_Monkey I tried again all your instructions in the video but still only the charging light is on.

For me, I just needed to hold the button down for 1-2 mins (without charger) then plug the charger back in and tap the power button once. I'm using asus btw.
I don't know if this will work for you but if you're scared to remove the battery try this.
I did this and it worked
