For the speed Kinsect:
DPS loop > recall (anim. cancel and Kinsect damage) -> DPS Loop -> Send Kinsect (anim. cancel and Kinsect damage) > DPS loop > ...
While you're DPSing the monster, you usually recall the kinsect to reposition faster. When you recall a charged kinsect it will also the the damage.
I really like the direction that Rise and Sunbreak has taken Kinsects. The choice seems really meaningful now without any of the hullabaloo of jellies and what not. I hope they continue making interesting and impactful kinsects that are easy to acquire in future games too, though I think there are of course still improvements they can make; I'll be sure to keep looking out for excellent breakdowns from you, Sky, on all the juicy bug details!

I liked the Jelly System NGL, although I must admit it was needlessly complicated in 4U. i would like a more streamlined version of jellys and that let us customize kinsect a lot more. As someone who values immersion quite a lot, raising a Kinsect like a Pokemon would be neat to me.
@@XmortoxX1990 I want the kinsect to be custom not just skill wise but aesthetically. Why not let us choose the base template and feed them Jellies that boost them and separate berries that recolor them.

I've been using the new blunt assist kinsect with tetraseal slash (it feels great after the attack speed buff it got) and it's a blast. You get a new extract cloud every 1-2 tetraseals, a couple of stuns per hunt and a whole lot of exhaustion staggers
I’m a speed kinsect main atm and it is so good in my opinion. I use the blunt and what I do is I use recall kinsect as my switch skill and use it to slow down stamina loss. Mark the head and fire kinsect. If you immediately use the skill to recharge the kinsect, you can use the insect glaives weak attack before the kinsect is recharged so it will be attack recharge attack recharge and repeat. When the kinsect is out of stamina I use the silkbind recall and repeat till I get a stagger or a stun. I have stamina thief and slugger on my set and eat for slugger with the lv4 food buff. By doing this I can easily get 7-8 stuns per hunt and I play exclusively solo it’s great.
I love Insect Glaive to death and I've been maining it since 4U, My only wish is that they'd bring back the Dragon Spirit layered weapon cause.. While I don't mind the Kinsects... They're all not great to look at.

Sunbreak is about to make my Insect Mage build possible.
Rise I used the Mizua armor and Glaive an Helfire + Crisis to boost my attack with the powder bug and bombs to play like a strange mage but this new powder vortex kicks that up to 11
I didn't use it often but I did for fun basically use Helfire to leave mines whenever you roll or the monster is enraged, cast the spell of powder and blow it up, use bombs or traps as often as you can. it was fun but now it will be even stronger.

The Staff of Laertes is a fantastic glaive. It has good enough stats for some melee damage, but more importantly, exceptionally numerous slots, level 15 kinsects, high blast, and the aesthetic needed to truly be a wizard whose one spell is EXPLOSION.
Sounds like 15 + min each Quest.

I've been looking for a good insect glaive content creator and I think I've just found one. Fantastically informative video, keep up the good work.
THREE THINGS I FORGOT TO MENTION:
1) The powder vortex dmg is NOT AFFECTED BY HITZONES. It is pure, raw, 100% crit dmg scaled off your weapon kinsect level. So you don't have to worry about where its blowing up.
2) Powder kinsects don't pair too well with Kinsect slash since the skill recalls your kinsect so just be aware of that!
3) The Boosted Powder Extract for the new ASSIST kinsects procs MUCH FASTER if you mark the monster WHERE YOU ATTACK. The more hits the kinsect gets near the marker, the faster you will proc the Boosted Powder Extract!
so what you're saying is i have even MORE reason to use Tetraseal after its buff and skill swap lets me use it without sacrificing tornado slash.. Yyyyyesssssssss
I feel like it is also worth noting that the 3 extract AKA will usually create enough powder clouds in a clump to hit a 1k vortex instantly

I still mostly just use Foebeetle. I don't like focusing too much on the kinsect in terms of combat, and utilizing the more classic glaive playstyle suits me much better, although the new glaive options seem interesting
Just use an assist kinsect
I believed the new Kinsect Charge Kinsects were aimed for the grounded playstyle while animation canceling with the normal recall kinsect because its timing fits so perfectly with it, you can send it off almost immeadiatly if you double heavy instead of a more ranged direct approach because the damage payoff isnt comparable to lets say powder vortex now but allowing it to just add free damage when we animation cancel anyway shows they really took a look on what playstyles we shapes IG into.
Nope its also for air with kinsect slash followed by the new ability that consumes the essence as the blue indication is for any action that involves the kinsect.
My build is use this kinsect slash wile in mid air gather orange and white essence then get the red one wait for it to go blue then use the spiker wile on the ground the build up to throw the kinsect it will almost always go blue and you get launched back into the air after that rinse and repeat.
I went into this all wrong. I went looking for a kinsect in mr to throw on a glaive and mess around with, but now I just wanna try all the cool new weapon mechanics and kinsect combos. So hype to make a build, thx Sky
I've been using and learning IG for Sunbreak, and the Powder Vortex feels incredible, when it works. That tip about moving it, I didn't know, so I'll definitely try and use that. But I run on my Scrolls a Grounded set of skills and and aerial set of skills, so when the monster is down, I can switch over to Tetraseal to build up that Powder quickly before nuking the monster. Even on subpar Vortexes, it's still like 500+ damage, and makes for hilarious wake-up hits if you can have the clouds ready.
Lady is the one I always use why because it stills does damage when using the vortex ability but also increases chances of stunning them
personally i used the charged one with normal kinsect attack when finish a combo to reposition myself while dealing some extra dmg. even better when it KO the monster.
I'd like to offer a few corrections/additions on the new assist Kinsects; it's my current favourite type of kinsect and the one I've used to most. Firstly, each "tri-cloud" summoned can be used thrice, *however,* they often tend to spawn directly on you, making you absorb the first cloud immediately most of the time. The exception is if the kinsect spawns the cloud higher in the air or somewhere next to you, depending on what attacks you're using. Secondly, I read on reddit that according to someone's testing, your kinsect has a much higher chance of summoning a cloud if it hits the monster close to where you've marked it. This means that the tetraseal slash is pretty much ideal for spawning as many clouds as possible. My basic playstyle is that I get all three extracts, maneuver around the monster and attack on the ground whenever possible, summon 2-3 "tri-clouds" and just bash the monster in the head using Awakened Kinsect Attack. Overall, it's an absolutely amazing buff to the Glaive and it has not become my favourite weapon!

Remember kinsect level on glaive (max is 15) increase damage of all those kinsect . explosion/assist/charge
Also Severing + Element glaive vs elemental weak monster shine more for charge kinsect build
A example is a water 15 glaive with severing speed bug . mark tobi tail and enjoy seeing the number go Brrrrrrrr
i rly love bonnetfille even if i already know the monster, just bc i played ig in 4u a lot and yellow was sometimes a pain in the ass to get, so its nice to get it everytime u get red or white
Regarding the kinsect charge, it does the damage even if you recall it and it does so in a straight line to the position you recalled from or to your mark.
When doing this, it'll constantly grab extracts right up until it reaches you/the mark which is kinda niche but can make getting certain extracts or delaying your orange more easier while still using the bug.
The drill is the only bug that doesn't stop when it hits something so it gives you a new angle for extracts that might be a pain otherwise because the keep hitting a limb in the way or whatever but you can still recall the bug when it's not charged to get the stored extract.
The Fleet hammer seems to give me a tonne of flinches which is nice too but it can feel a bit too micro like you said. It's not a bad loop just sending/recalling for animation cancel and just taking whatever you to get too.
Bonnetfille is my favorite kinsect overall, really convenient and versatile with no micro no nothing just you hunting the monster. Really hard to top dual color bugs for consistent hunts.
Yeaaaa its very niche but thats neat to know about the flinches! I'll have to give it a try :) Its definitely quite micro.

I had a build specifically for that but struggled against fast monsters
You can use awakening straight to the dust cloud and when you get through you get your extracts again by the time you hit the monster so you can keep attacking immediately.
I've been using the fleetflammer as a means of getting stuns. Just mark the head send it out charge and attack. It's pretty reliable depending on the monster's movement I can get first stun decently fast (4-6 charge attacks?). Not sure if it actually is faster than the other blunt kinsects but it feels more satisfying. I've been meaning to try a build with slugger but haven't gotten around to it.
Honestly fair! That first charged hit is wayyy stronger than the rest of the hits anyway so this might be worth the shot!
Kinsect charge cool tip. If you use the blunt kinsect and mark a monsters head, you can stagger or drop a monster with its charge. It is actually decent control.

Couldn't tell if you covered it, but I saw a cool run Po Chi did where he ran a powder kinsect with awakened kinsect on blue scroll. Whenever he got a down or his triple buff would run out, he used awakened kinsect. And it seems powder kinsects proc a bunch of clouds as it goes through the monster. Then he'd dump the explosion, get the other 2 extracts and repeat
Yep I covered that in my video for Awakened Kinsect combos :) wasn't in this one since I hadn't tested it yet! But it's a fantastic pairing :)
Thanks for the testing saves me doing it :P I was thinking its a shame there is no duel colour one though. I personally love em because it saves time and just lets us get red buff and go straight into the fights. Is would be be a big damage loss to just keep using the old ones? Also its a question i get allot even in hunts and its what stats to prio for our gear... im just using our old ones and trying to stick with it and doing some nutty crits like 1k dives at MR4 but yeah might be worth making a video about what to prio and weapons. I would be interested in seeing what you think :)
Absolutely! Glad this was helpful :). Its not a real big dmg loss if you use the old ones. The new kinsects don't actually change much in dmg value. Their power stays the same. Its really just the bonuses which are mainly changing for most. But yea for assist kinsects particularly, literally no power dmg change, just bonus.

Speed kinsect work well with the new air switch skill. When it's charged it will hit along with you. That's just amazing, don't need to send it out, it like assist kinsect but in the air

that dual color defense blunt kinsect is great, and pairs really well with kinsect slash
you basically draw your weapon, vault, aim the kinsect slash to monster's body, get orange and white buff (gives you earplugs) then do the kinsect slash twice more to monster's head, jump towards the monster in the air(important) then finish with diving wyvern. it ahs really high dps and it is pretty quick. it also builds ko damage, when you get the stun you can spam tetraseal slash. when mosnter is moving you just spam the aerial combo. it actually deals more damage than old tornado slash combo in the same time. i am having a great time with this
Back when fighting Alatreon in World, I followed a guide to do a kinsect only strategy. Really the whole process is sending your bug in and out nonstop to get the job done. Maybe the speed charge kinsect is just that, a strategy for player who doesn't want to cart stay far in the back and try to help. lol
Bilbobrix is my go to, since I'm always trying to break monster parts as fast as possible, so I can heal while attacking thanks to Bloodrite. Plus I just love dealing huge amounts of damage with my attacks. Power is my favorite approach to monsters.

so a bunch of powder clouds make a total of 1k damage... but if you equip an assist/attack kinsect and just press the B (tornado attack) 4 times then you also have 1k damage, perhaps even more, with just doing 4 attacks that take as long at 6 seconds ....if you ask me that goes much faster than creating all those powder clouds tho edit; but im new to the glaive so forgive me if im wrong btw doing aerial attacks goes even faster than tornado attacks
I find that the foliacath is best when using and elemental build since it can pierce through the monster
8:00 i don't have MHR, but in mh4u, you can fast charge the kinsect in 1 sec by holding r+x button then release the button to throw the kinsect. only Fast Charge Kinsect can do that. i cheese G-rank basarios using only this kind of kinsect, the KO value is also big. Basically, recall-charge-throw, loop again.
You can also trigger Charged Kinsect by using Hold(R) Press (x three times). of course, this is mh4u.
i think you should be able to do this in MHR, maybe you can recharge it faster while the kinsect air by holding r+x.

The original fast charge kinsects could not do this in Rise so I guess the devs waited on this concept for Sunbreak haha
One thing I don't see people talking about much with the Boosted Powder Extract assist kinsect that is a bit of an implicit limitation (especially compared with the Dual-Color assist kinsect) is that you can't proc the boosted powder unless you are doing assist attacks (the heavy attacks WITH your bug helping out) and, importantly, you can't actually perform assist attacks unless you already have all three powders to begin with. In practice, what this means is that using this assist type requires a bit more effort as compared to the dual-color assist type when you are FIRST collecting your powder at the start of a hunt or after the monster has moved, if your buffs have run out. In Sunbreak, this isn't a huge issue as there are more ways to quickly collect powders now, but I do still sometimes miss the incredible ease of collecting three powders that the dual-color assist type brings, especially the "defense" dual-color one, since those orange powders can still be fairly elusive on some monsters. Just something to keep in mind when thinking about this new assist type kinsect (unless I've totally misunderstood it, in which case I'm very happy to be wrong :D)
No you're totally right with this! In terms of ease of kinsect collection - dual colour is probably still and will be the easiest form to collect extracts! and yes breaking into the hunt and getting the proc off for the first time is probably the slowest part with the new assist, but I have found that after, the hunts go by much smoother - I rarely need to collect buffs ever again. I did mention in the video the proc only occurs with your assist kinsect hits which come from your heavy attacks - with some practice you should be hitting these consistently and so the red cloud appears quite a bit (Especially if you mark the monster). When a monster moves areas, I use the proc buff to maintain my buffs even while transitioning areas. So overall you need to collect buffs much less in a hunt. :) Thank you for the comment!
@@SkySenseiVB Totally, and in general I'm absolutely loving the new kinsects and new IG gameplay overall. I just think when I first heard about boosted powder extract it sounded like instant triple-buffs all day, every day. I just didn't immediately put together that chicken-egg scenario where the fact that the assist-type moves required to make the powder also implicitly require all the powders. So in case anyone wonders what the drawback is, I think that's the big one (and it's not a particularly big one, honestly). I also just have a soft spot for my little dual-color friends, as they definitely help SO MUCH when first learning the insect glaive, so I'm happy to see they are still somewhat relevant :D
I've been running Narga + Bilbobrix and it's been an absolute blast playing a mixed DPS/support role in multiplayer hunts. Just slowly setting up blast powders before dropping them all like a Hellzone Grenade, but with the bonus of being able to heal teammates in the blast zone.
I use the new speed kinsects with Awakened Kinsect Attack if you hit a monster just right you can do massive damage, the most damage I did was 1023
OMG I FELT THE SAME ABOUT WHAT U SAY ABOUT SPEED TYPE, it doesnt really work together with hunter well as it takes away too much time and effort focusing on it while also trying to glaive hunt.
- I feel like kinsect charge bonus should be a default for speed type.(also its nice to see kinsect floating in battlefield, makes it seem more present)
- Bonus could be no auto return arm, “kinsect engage” that way it can remain active whenever wanted it to attack
- IMO blue indicator of charged confused me as new player, i suggest blinking shiny like long sword gauge. Also in terms of fashion. (Match outfit with red juice then turned blue) Also a cool color doesnt really prompt you to utilise + not obvious when focusing on monster
OMG THE BLUE THING - That took me a while to figure out as well XD Nothing in the game tells you, its just like kinda like "blink" BLUE.
I had to switch from LS because I play online a lot so I've been using my secondary option which is kinsect glave, I had no clue I could get this kind of damage off becasue I been using the old dual gathering kinsect bug smh
i love the new powder kinsects, but it sucks that the new air attack recalls it. it’d be nice to be able to build up powder while attacking the monster
Yeaaaa it's quite rough for powder kinsects. That's skill matches very well with the other 2 but the Awakened Kinsect wirebug is OP with powder!
i think speed kinsects are meant to be used with kinsect slash. with correct timing of the slashes you can land the charged attacks without much maintenance and without sacrificing your own damage
Absolutely! Was part of my recommendation to combine it with Kinsect Slash. Especially since Powdered Kinsects aren't meant to be combined with Kinsect Slash at all.
The Kinsect Slash + Diving Wyvern playstyle is so OP using the Kinsect with charged chain attack. You stun and exaust the monster so easily
The speed bugs just feel like a direct downgrade to the tier before. The charge bugs before at least dropped a flurry of attacks which the blunt one had a very high chance of stunning if you hit the head...

I did give it a shot. Honestly this was my initial thought too and if anything its probably still the best option for it. But against moving targets, while waiting for your kinsect to charge up and then positioning the kinsect to hit the tail its just a mess. You also can't move the kinsect while its charging and if you move it even once, it loses all its charge - its not even when it makes contact. It has potential, but I wish they would have tweaked it to use its charge when it makes contact. You can still get good dmg from the initial charge and release from your arm, but if thats the case, you might as well use another speed kinsect.
I think you missed saying that the new assist kinsect triggers way easier the 3-buff-powder if you mark the monster

Bonnetfille is amazing for air insect glaive
Would love to see the addition of custom kinsect and/or some kinsects that will be for Aerial IG user (like me) cuz i feel like besides the powder types who is ''ok'' for aerial style the 2 other are clearly made for grounded IG user.

Definitely. I did a quick test in the training area and without mark it prompted about 2 times per minute at max. Marking the monster triggered it in less than 10 seconds
So I know the play is to let the dust clouds build up as you combo around them then blow them all up with the vortex, but I keep hitting the dust clouds before they can build up because tetraseal puts the mark right in front of you. Anyone else having a problem like that?
I want to make an indepth guide breaking down how to best utilise every kinsect, cause from further playing i believe the new ones are side grades (mostly) to the old ones. Each kinsect has its niche, and making sets on all of them would be very fun!
There's nothing side grade about powder vortex lol
Charge kinsect ability also works with the kinsect slash so if your going to use the spiker that comes from having the red essence you do bonus damage with it.
The best way to use it is get both white and orange essence then get the red essence you should wile in the air build up to it causing the kinsect to become blue use the spiker because of kinsect slash and having the red essence then wile on the ground use the ability to consume all 3 essences to throw the kinsect and yes it does more damage when the kinsect is blue.
Today I hit MR3 and finally got Bilbobrix! But at the same time I realized that it might not be the best choice if most of the time I play with my friends, right? 😭

Does the Teostra soul rampage deco affect the blast damage from Bilbobrix's powder bomb?
It does buff blast clouds, but not the nuke damage. 220 per cloud. It isn't much but if you aren't using your rampage slot for anything better, it's nice.
I personally wish they would have given us a Rampage deco for IG only that could, say, improve triple buff or kinsect stamina, or increase Kinsect Level on a weapon by 1.

Says you have to put to much work in for the "passive" kinsect bonus while praising powder kinsect for the dmg it does ;-;
As an ig main with probably over 2k hours of pure ig gameplay I'd access the kinsects the other way around.
Speed being the one that just passively gives you extra dmg because you dont need to do anything for it. Meaning that itll be the best for if you don't want your normal gameplay to be interrupted. The 3 extracts one is decent because of the synergy with the new move but thats about it. Getting your extracts is easy and just getting them for free sometimes is not really that strong if you are good at getting them normally. Its an assist type which is also just free dmg if you use the right moves so its decent but not as fast as the speed one. The powder one being arguably the worst just because of how much work you need to put in to get that big explosion. It has big dmg but needs alot of commitment compared to the other 2. And you can just miss it or spend to long moving the powders instead of just attacking normally. It might be strong if you are really really good with the powder kinsect but its alot of work for what it gives. This is especially apparent when you compare it to the work the other 2 require. Speed only needs ypu to park your kinsect and be aware of it (which you should be anyway as a ig main) and the assist one onpy meeds you to play around the ball it drops when you use the hunter art.
The power one requires you to place the powders, probably move them r bait the monster close if it runs away and you can just miss or the monster might destroy your powder. You cant miss your extra dmg/upsides with the other kinsects. The speed one will always br the fastest and always get free charges, even if you miss one its no where near as dramatic as missing a vortex, and the assist one always gives ypu thr extra dmg and all you have to do for its bonus is walk through the ball.

The only issue I'm running into is during online hunts. Using AKS, then my teammates blowing up my shit before I can even vortex bomb it. FeelsFuckingBadMan
For online, mixed weapon hunts, you really cant fish for the bigger damage numbers. Especially if you've got a bowgun or bow user with you.
For those setups, if you're taking the blast kinsect out, just do the vortex with 2 or 3 clouds, they can still hit for 300-500 damage usually.
Ayoo does Power Prolonger have an effect with the Assist Kinsect cloud? If the Cloud gives u 40 secs, with PP changes that? 🤔

I do not understand how to use the assist kinsects. Do I have to do 3 hits from one of the heavy attacks you mentioned? Why does my kinsect only hit one spot when I fire it out instead of auto attacking for a while? I don't get it.
So the assist kinsects work by auto-attacking, ONLY on your heavy hits. You MUST have all 3 buffs though otherwise it will not activate. You don't need to do anything. No marking or sending them out. Yeah even though the rarity is higher all kinsects are designed to be around the same stat thresholds. Think of them as new options and not upgrades. I’m sticking with dual color as well.
Yea its really this. The rarity doesn't mean much for Kinsects. Its just the bonuses. Your dmg will still scale if your weapons have a higher Kinsect Level!
Using the kinsect slash ability with the powder bomb kinsects is probably counter productive right? I really want to utilize both lol

Nah I tried it and it stops attacking and recalls to you which sucks for leaving clouds
My IG is bugged and it won’t draw the powders to the monster no matter how many times I press XR+X+A.
Do you have the DLC? Also which exact Kinsect are you using? Only the Rarity 7 ones will do the bomb.
I tried everything and I don't know how to make my assist kinsect attack the monster by himself. I use RT to mark the monster but nothing happen. I can only aim and use light attack button to send him but that doesn't trigger his special. He attack only on my command so no cloud.
What am I missing good sir ?
Assist kinsects don’t attack on their own. Powder kinsects do. Check which type your bug is. Assist kinsects attack with your combo finishers. (They fly around the glaive as you swing)

So the speed kinsect has a special attack too (RT + X + A for Switch controller)... but I can't figure out what it does? The weapon info says to use it to increase charge speed and in the training area says "Kinsect: Special Attack" when you perform it but functionally I don't really know whats changing. Anyone got any ideas?
It speeds up its charge time while it"s in the air. Effectively cutting it charge time in half.

@@Ookamisieshin are you asking how long the "boost" last? It lasts until the Kinsect is charged up. After attacking with your Kinsect, you have to do the special attack again to get the faster charge. It's best to think of this feature as a means to do damage if you can't approach the monster (like they have a defensive barrier around them or is about to do a super attack) or if you want to get a quick KO on a monster with the blunt Kinsect.
I see some people here talking about how kinsect slash doesn't work with powder, and although there is a point to it, it does have it"s usage if you know what you're looking for.
Let me explain:
When biblobrix is running dry on stamina you can easily start to get it to recover by using kinsect slash on one of your scrolls to have it auto latch onto you, same logic works with kinsect glide.
This way the flow of the fight isn't disturbed by waiting for the kinsect to recharge while you don't do anything when instead you can use kinsect slash to help recover and maintain the dps while you attack.
Does Teostra Soul boost damage of blast procs from dust vortex with the Bilbobrix?
I'll be trying that soon but my assumption is it will boost the blast proc dmg, but not the variable powder dmg. But I'm not 100% I'll review and let you know when I put a build for blast powder vortex!

What affects the damage of the powder vortex? Raw? Certain armor skills? Or nothing?
From what I've seen so far, its the kinsect level on your blade. Raw dmg doesn't affect kinsect dmg and the powder vortex counts as a kinsect attack so it always crits and deals the same dmg no matter where it hits. Armour skills I have tested crit and attack and it didn't change anything. Blast skills might enhance the blast portion of the powder bomb - so the base blast dmg, but not the bomb dmg itself.

Whenever I throw my kinsect out for it to do something other than grab buffs it just sits there. Am I missing something?
Which kinsect are you using? There are different ones that do different things. Powder kinsects require that you "Mark" the target first before the hit. Assist won't do anything, they actually need to be on your arm and you need all 3 buffs before they auto attack. Speed don't do anything either, you have to manual move them to hit the target but generally speaking you just send them out to hit once and call them back.

I like gimmicky builds, and the thought of using yet another full affinity crit meta build with the Narga glaive almost physically hurts me after hundreds of hours of World/Iceborne. I heard about a truly insane way to doomstack Dereliction+Bloodlust from someone else and that's looking like it might be my main aggressive build - along with maybe some Bladescale memes. The main reason is because gleam is an assist with the boosted powder skill. So its easy to use up all your extracts with Awakened, then jump back into the boosted powder and restock all your extracts instantly.
I wish switch skill swap also swapped your kinsect.

I too have been trying to make the new charge kinsect work and uh... yeah I couldn't get it to either.
It's pretty upsetting to be honest, cause I do really like parts of it. Like others have mentioned, it seems really good for getting flinches, and I love that it brings back the way you used to be able to chain charged kinsect attacks in 4U and how in the old games the kinsect would pierce the monster instead of stopping. But it's just... _not worth_ the amount of effort it takes to actually use properly.
I want it to be good so badly cause I think it's fun manually directing the kinsect to bully the monster while it's too dangerous for me to go in, or just throwing in kinsect attacks between my own combos. But even when I'm using it as efficiently as possible, I still get more damage out of the status powder vortex, which barely requires any extra input from me by comparison, can also heal me and stun + paralyze the monster, and itself is dwarfed in damage by the other kinsect options.
I'm personally a helicopter player. I focus on aerial crit bouncing. is it the highest dps? no. but its the playstyle I learned from world and I still love. and it keeps me alive.

Hell yeah! There's multiple playstyles you don't gotta play the highest DPS one. For helicopter, I'd probably pair powder since it's the only one that'll DMG on its own without you doing much. Plus if you do a para powder bug, you can probably get a para stun just by helicoptering and blowing the dust clouds. You do try speed but I believe the speed kinsects will charge up faster than you finishing your DMG in the air.
Does anyone else wish they'd bring back Elscarad and Arginesse again - and make them actually good, unlike the aesthetically pleasing garbage bugs we got in World? Just giving them their old team buff effects like in GU would be incredible.
Also, they really should have just made all Rarity 10 glaives cap at level 15 kinsects. Why any of them have as low as level 13 is beyond me, the same way Gunlances with level 7 shelling are kind of a mean practical joke in Sunbreak.
New to IG, is Lv14 really bad compared to 15? As a GL main I've already resigned myself to using Lv7 shelling as well for more variety lol
@@s07195 It's hard to say, since clean damage tables aren't commonly available online. But if you're using the bug heavily you want every scrap of DPS, I figure. That's why the Magia is such a good glaive - comfy sharpness, good blast, nice slots, level 15. Not the best but has no downsides and is basically made for the blast mage build.

@@s07195 Admittedly I don't have a Sunbreak file and can't give practical answers. Basically though, you're either running a solo pure blast dust vortex build (i.e., slow kills but super safe, use bug shots and vortex) or a melee build with bonus boom (usual damage focused build, IG can do insane things with one point each of Dereliction and Bloodlust with Blood Rite in the comfort slots though).

Hey man I do apologize. I made this video before it was even announced on the xbox. Like we had no idea it was ever coming to the xbox or PS at the time this was made. Had Capcom been upfront about this, I would have included it which is what I do for games that are on multiplatforms.
Maybe it's just me, but the new assist kinsects suck. They hardly activate. I mean I fought 3 monsters all on the ground and not once did the boost activate. So no, that is not a game charger at all

For charged Kinsect, you can weave in the Kinsect attacks and charge between attacks - the blunt one has the highest KO valued of any Kinsect, and slicing one likely has the best element damage output
