    I’m an IG main and my friend/hunting partner is a Greatsword main, so it’s nice to feel like I’m pulling my weight since he does the most damage consistently. This only makes me feel even better about my weapon choice.

    In case anyone else missed this, the red cloud that appears for the new assist bugs triggers faster if you've marked the monster. It's mentioned in the hunter notes.

    Vaulting dance (more specifically the falling animation of jumping advancing slash) has actually always had counter s but it's impractical to use on purpose and seems more like a QoL thing for aerial glaive.
    It's saved me from carts many times.

    you guys should try the dual color defense blunt kinsect with kinsect slash, do the kinsect slash 3x and finish with diving wyvern. the damage is incredible, you have full control (when you vault do not let the RT go, aim on monster part and simply press circle, you will do the kinsect slash on the reticle) and it is very fast. it also pairs well with the kinsect glide, in case you get the red extract first. you can use this to get the missing color. when you start a fight first you should aim for the body to get white and orange buff at the same time, this gives you full earplugs immediately. so while monster roars you can aim for the face to get red extract. you can get lots of ko's with it. once the monster is down you can go full tetraseal slash, it is buffed and is very fast now.
    playing with vortex kinsect can be troublesome in multiplayer as monster moves a lot and it (or other players) can destroy your clouds. awakened kinsect feels awesome, but again it has a long charging animation(monster can move while you charge, so you can only use this in openings) and uses all of your extracts, and it does not deal that much damage (with valstrax IG i easily get 1k+ damage on diving wyvern after 3x vault)

    powder vortex is really strong but if you play with more than 1 other person, especially a melee, it's near impossible to actually get it off before someone hits all your dust

      Yeah, it gets annoying. On one hand, they can snag heals, but on the other, you can lose the damage.

      Agreed, I really only see Vortex as being viable in single player.

    The new IG moves, all of them, seemed so awkward to me at first. Honestly they still sorta do. Yet the more I use them the better, or more ok they start feel. I guess like how you ended this video, 'One-trick Narga IG assist type Kinsect'. I feel that maybe I'm just too used to that playstyle. And while playing and feeling out these moves they're starting to feel more natural 😄

      Yeaaa honestly I felt that too! We definitely have all been in that rhythm of just narga IG for farrr to longgg haha. Its wild but I'm also getting better at finding new patterns :) Its great!

      I'm currently using the blast powder kinsect with a Shagaru Magala set (except for the waist, that one is from Gore). Picked up Shagarus glaive, maxed it out and god this build feels soooo gooood. I have diving wyvern with kinsect glide and Jumping advance slash on red scroll, and AKA with silkbind vault and kinsect slash in Blue scroll, I'm enjoying the glaive a lot and my playstyle so far is feeling super fluid after learning how to use everything properly. Maybe ill try out other kinsects more often tho who knows.
      Currently making a blast build with that kinsect and the Magia Glaive and it is looking naaasty XD

    I didn't know you could aim these new skills! I love it even more knowing this (and now I can really chase down monsters lol).
    The most surprising thing for me was the fact that AKA could also counter attacks. It is hard to pull off, but oh my Gog it feels good.

    Just so you know kinsect glide actually does something similar to AKA in that it gives you super armor when you're traveling towards the monster.

    I've wanted to love ig since it was first introduced but the extract gathering was more annoying than it was worth. I'm so glad they made it less of a hassle

    The way I have my glaive set up right now is advancing forward slash + diving wyvern on red scroll and kinsect slash + awakened kinsect on the blue scroll. The logic is that you play in red scroll until you're almost out of your buff and then switch to blue scroll to hit with awakened kinsect and get triple buff again (1 from the awakened kinsect and you can quickly get the other 2 with kinsect slash). Then you switch back to red for traditional DPS.
    Kinsect glide is too slow for my taste, I might put it on blue scroll because it helps with getting extract, but I'm not sold. You already have a ton of movement options and using silkbind vault as a panic button seems better to me.
    I was hoping that powder kinsect would finally make tetraseal slash shine but that isn't the case unfortunately. Even with the buffs it's too slow and high commitment for me. You're better off using the kinsect mark instead.

    The windup for the awakened attack is completely fair. If it was shorter, glaive would be even more broken than it's already become

    Speed type kinsects are actually some of the better bugs for aerial style fighting? Especially the ones that can charge fast when used with kinsect slash that attack will do more damage because of the charge. Its not the most powerful style ill admit but just thought id let some people know that aerial glaive wasnt entirely forgotten

    Have not really went to training to test it but i do know that speed type have even more hits if you use awakened kinsect while their charged up(blue)

    speed kinsects gets nothing much yet again, all it gets is being able to continue it's charge cooldown off the hunter which should had been a thing in rise.

      That might not be fully true. For example, in his previous video about Kinsect Slash, he recommends using a Speed one if you're going to spam KS, because the speed beetle hits multiple times, yielding extra damage. Not sure if it's truly viable or powerful, but it does seem like a benefit of Speed?

    AKA seems to outclass Diving Wyvern. It comes out faster, requires less setup (or at least only requires setup that you're already doing), and allows you to follow up with better attacks. Do you think AKA makes Kinsect Recall a more viable option now? What scenarios would you still want to use Diving Wyvern instead of AKA?

      What I do is just use kinsect slash and the follow up insect spiker since the damage of that is sadly pretty comparable to diving wyvern. It's not as high but diving wyvern isn't too powerful to begin with, so it gets close enough considering it costs no wirebugs and comes out a little bit faster. Also harder to hit all hits with it, but I'll definitely go for recall kinsect instead just to have the handy dodge mechanic around.

      @@valhalla_1129 Diving wyvern pairs better with an aerial playstyle, since you can buff its damage up to x3 with successive aerial attacks. I have hit ~989 damage on magma almudrons head with diving wyvern after doing 3 kinsect slashes, for a conservative estimated total of around 1300 damage for a single combo. The benefits AKA has is that it requires almost no setup and is easier, and is better for players who like to stay grounded.
      They are both good but to say that it outclasses diving wyvern is not true.
      There are a few videos out about the kinsect slash/diving wyvern combo, I recommend checking them out to see the potential of that playstyle as well.

      AKA feels way to hard to come out since it takes so long to charge and collect all the extracts again. I don't see it as a very good skill

      @@powersale5898 yeah, I said that before I unlocked the skill. And I didn't realize it uses the same input. My logic was using AKA and Kinsect Recall, but that's not possible without doing a scroll swap.
      AKA does feel a little clunky to use. I wish there was a way to cancel the follow up attack. I'd love to chain it directly into a powder vortex.

      @@longers1028 i just tried AKA again and maybe saying that its a completely trash skill isn't correct. But honestly I would never use it unless I want to either get a stun in or i have a bunch of triple buff clouds everywhere. Recall kinsect on the other hand I completely gave up on trying to make it work. Id rather have wyvern and AKA

    Is it true that powder vortex can make area healing just using only healing dust?

      It won't leave a lingering healing if that's what you mean. But it will heal you and teammates when it explodes. So you could blow you vortexes to heal teammates!

      You can swap out skills in the item box --> Manage Switch Skills.
      The new skills come with the Sunbreak expansion. You'll need to unlock the base game wirebug skills as well just like the switch skills. Completing specific village quests and crafting more glaives.

      Advancing roundslash! If you're hit while spinning, you counter and take no DMG while being sent into the air. You can check my IG tutorial pinned on the channel :) it'll show you the s and benefits of the counter!

    I don't know if anyone else caught it. But when you counter magnamalo your health gets cut in half

      I mentioned that :). It's not an invincible counter. It's a counter with super armour - meaning you still take DMG but you cannot be knocked out of your animation. So it garentees you finish the DMG similar to Zero Sum Discharge of switch axe. So just make sure you have health before using Awakened Kinsect :)

      It's because it's not a counter whatsoever, don't know why he decided to call it that. You simply have super/hyper armor during the kinsect glide portion of the AKA move.

    Tbh, I am not a fan of any of these. All they did is give us more complex ways of doing what we already did well, which is approaching and gathering extract. And that would be fine if it came with what IG needed -- increased aerial damage and more powerful finishers -- so that aerial IG would be more damaging that ground IG. It's odd they continue to let ground IG be superior to aerial, yet IG is designed to be almost entirely aerial in Rise. We should've received a finisher that extended our extract duration when performed, and a finisher that boosted us back in the air and increased our aerial combo/damage when performed. Or anything similar to those. That would've made IG much better and would've fit well with the clear aerial style they're going with in Rise.
    My other big issue is that the skills we got seem designed for mouse and keyboard to the detriment of console players. These skills are difficult to aim on console when they should all just be "directional input + skill input" like our other skills. Instead, Kinsect Slash requires us to activate the reticle and aim, which requires too many inputs with a controller to execute easily and within the timeframe needed. And Awakened Kinsect Attack aims where your character is facing, which is the worst possible way to aim in any videogame. I would enjoy these skills much more if they were designed to be aimed with directional input on console, instead, I haven't touched AWA once since I tested it in training, since Silkbind Vault actually lets me aim where I want to go.
    I'm happy with new ways to approach, but when those ways are flawed on console (their primary market) and don't come with the absolutely necessary additions IG needed, I'm left disappointed. It makes it appear Capcom doesn't understand IG at all.

      I very much disagree when it comes to Awakened Kinsect attack. That thing is RIDICULOUS with the blast power kinsect. It is also extremely easy to aim, because you can aim it ANYWHERE after starting to charge it with the kinsect aim reticle (by pressing R1 in the switch controller im using). You can aim it in the exact same way you aim your kinsect normally. Eck you can start the attack facing away from the monster, if you aim with the reticle at the monster, your hunter will turn 180 degrees and send the kinsect in that direction that you chose. It gave us the damage bump the glaive needed.
      Kinsect glide is very situational but then again it is very fluid and is replacing silkbind vault, its not like vault would get a big bang damage silkbind to replace it anyways.
      The kinsect slash spiker finisher is also great for landing while dealing good damage. Plus if you speed up your camera movement it becomes really easy to aim too. Also it does not require you to use the reticle, you can use it normally and it will go horizontally in any direction that you choose. Then again, the reticle is literally just 1 imput, 2 with the attack button, which is not a lot, so i dont understand where you're coming from with that point.

      Rise is on PC, if it is “big issue” play it there? It seems you didn’t test enough to make any valid critique because most of your issues aren’t even issues with the weapon. If you want mobility and big damage finishers go play long sword.

      Dude just use the gyroscope to aim.
      It’s super accurate that’s how I have been playing bow since Base rise and IG, you can make micro adjustments very fast to aim kinsect slash as well.

      I'm with you. this whole thing made Ground IG more usefull yes. But imo woudnt even play IG if not for the air. The extract on the new Air Skills is a nice addition sure. But way to clunky to use the switch the scrools to get back to the other air attack (forgot the name).
      For me IG is pretty much done and even DB feels more Air, dodgy and active then IG witht he new skills they got in sunbreak.
      The kinsects are the most stupid thing. Yes maybe in Singelplayer you might enjoy the Vortex. But try that out in Multiplayer with frinds. Your CLouds get popped for 20 DMG by any hunting horn buffing and dmg near the boss. Wich wastes this kinsect.
      The buff cloud is also stupid for air IG, couse you gotta be on the ground to even get the cloud for you to be in the air againe.
      I still stick to the dual kinsects and the Rise skills. Air IG got nothing that increases your time in the air. Sadge

      Ratatoskr has a video of literally 100% aerial IG and it does work. Kinsect slash 3x+Wyvern cycle. Keep AKA on the alt setup for detonating an ending triple buff, use assist kinsect for the dust refresher and kinsect glide/slash right through the thing if you have to. Aerial is stronger than it's ever been, looks like - I mean, it lets you chase Shagaru into the sky.

    I dont like the IG stuff we got... none expect for the Dive wich we got in World already. Even the Kinsects got imo bad with sunbreak. More time to waste to gathering buffs againe and lesser air time. if i wanted fast ground play i would play Dual blades and not IG...

      wym aeial glaive is very viable in Sunbreak... And if you prefer previous Kinsects you can still use them with no drawbacks since the Glaive level itself is buffing them.
