  • This is a tutorial showing you how to use the "Group" option in Tinkercad. By using this tool, it allows you to combine separate objects into one to make a larger solid as well as allows you to create a cavity or complete hole within an object.

hello . im trying to make a Hardtop for a Volkswagen amarok model, i did exactly like you did in the video but when i import it into cura all 4 sides are there but when i press ''slice'' it just wants to print the first side (back window) and all the 3 other sides are invincible . what am i doing wrong ?!

One thing I would look at in your design is the thickness of the other sides that aren't showing up once you slice the model. For example, if your printer settings in Cura has the nozzle size of .4mm and thickness of the model is below that, Cura may not actually be able to make that portion of the model because it's too small. Check it out and let me know if that was the issue. Hope this helps!

when i group them all of them turn to one color how can I not do that cuz I want to group them and for them to have different colors

    • @quicktechtutorials7289

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to do that. When you are grouping multiple objects, it's converting them into one object which renders it all one color. My suggestion would be that if you want to manipulate multiple parts at the same time, don't group them but select all of the objects and then you can move/change size without them all being one color.

@@quicktechtutorials7289 actually there is when you group click the solid color that it shows it will then put a display of colors. At the bottom there will be a checkmark for multicolored and whatever you grouped will be in their previous colors.

@@shurooqelshaeir529 Well look at that! Must be an updated feature as I hadn't noticed that before. Thanks for the update and glad there is a feature that worked out for what you were looking for.

@@shurooqelshaeir529 @Quick Tech Tutorials Do either of you know if the same can be done with transparent and solid objects? I click multicolored, but the groups either become all transparent or all solid.

@@johntucker3695 if you group any 2 shapes transparent or solid you click the grouping icon then the color palet right at the end you'll find the multicolor check box check it and it will return it to its original state for example if you grouped solid with transparent after you click the box they will be grouped but the solid will remain solid and the transparent transparent
