I just found this channel by accident while I was about to start an online class last week, and now I've seen almost 20 videos from this guy. Somehow the way he explains and repair those products it's very calm, straight forward and very satisfying to watch. Keep up the good work, I just wish here in Colombia we had technicians like him.

So what did the customer say? - was the screen new screen he sent in damaged by courier or by the customer??? Sucks if was damaged in transit. Guess customer could get you to fit a new screen so at least al the work is completed and ipad fully working.

What does the filter do electronically? Can you in theory just bridge the filters pads and make it work?

What kind of device is the "filter"? Is it an inductor? I can see several sites that sell them but none has a reference or point to a datasheet.
will the 1st gen work on the 2nd gen or the 10.5 ? I realize it wouldn't fit on the the 10.5 but at least for testing
Whenever you say something is microscopic, I think you should bring some comparison into view. Like a finger or a coin. The reason is that I think most people have no imagination. :) And as they ask for the Amtech 559 each and every day, that might also be something interesting. :)

Cannot understand why people try and do their own repairs. It’s bad enough getting a repair that another shop has had a go at but when a customers had a go? Lot more expense now than taking it to a shop for repair in the first place.
What's exactly a "filter" in your definition? Is it a type of a capacitor? Or something else?
a filter is aka an inductor or coil but when in the form he uses it it is called a filter.
They overheat all the time even with minor usage
