The best part about this job is the smile we all have when the customer's equipment starts up and works well. This is our greatest reward (with the invoice :)).
I want to study Electronic Engineering in the future, honestly I get an awesome feeling when I fix simple electronics with the little knowledge I have, and the image of you smiling after fixing the touch gave me so much joy, videos like this make me even more confident about studying Electronics.
I’m currently studying electrical engineering in Toronto Canada, I am so excited to open a repair shop like this in the future, you inspire me and motivate me with all of your videos, keep up the good work!
I bet you this guy doesn’t even have an electrical engineering Degree. I think it would be a waste of your time to get an engineering Degree and then just open an electronic repair shop. Might as well save that tuition money that I know is not cheap, and the time spent studying at university and use it to directly learn how to do these repair job. You might even be able to make some money along the way repairing and learning.
M.D. F I thought the same thing, I learned recently he does have an electrical engineering degree. I get what you mean though, engineering school is not something taken just for fun and I’ve debated dropping out and doing exactly what you said. But frankly opening any business is a risk in itself, and let’s say it just doesn’t work out, now I’m left with nothing to fall back on. This isn’t my goal for right when I graduate, there is money to be made in the engineering field and I want to first pay off all of my parents debt and be settled and secure with my future family, before even thinking about any of this. It’s an eventual dream, when I am ready, I’ll use my knowledge of electrical systems and field experience, along with and further training I need to open my dream shop, thanks for the comment, all the best to you.
@@RU4SERIOUS1 Keep studying, like you said if things don't work out you want something to fall back on. And who knows, perhaps you do start your own business and after a couple of years you might decide to move onto something else. You won't use everything that you learn in university, but the foundation will be there and it's a great sense of achievement.
There is NOTHING like that feeling, its better than the sheer joy when something works, but rather, when your backs against the wall, you dont know what ELSE it could be.. and then, it WORKS. FFEEWW!! thats awesome. great video.
I just found your videos on TH-cam, as I'm starting out doing my own small scale repairs, etc., and I have to say that these videos are incredible! I learned so many things in just a few minutes! We all know that recording for TH-cam just adds another layer of difficulty while you work, so it is much appreciated!
I liked your concise explanation of the problem, as well as what you were going to do at all times and what was the fix you were currently implementing. No bullshit, straight to the point, kept me watching throughout. Great video.
I like when people are true, and are not afraid to say " I don't know" , but looks for another source to know the real tech value and info. Good Work !!
This was the most incredible repair video I've seen so far. You have some amazing skills. Definitely look forward to watching your other vids. Thanks for sharing!
Most commentators have never tried soldering surface mount components, I have, and I am very impressed with your repairs. Not much point in making it look pretty since no one will see inside the case anyway.
Flux strips the oxide layers. Oxide works like an insulation barrier, not just electrically and metallurgic, but also to some extend thermally. Meaning flux, through dissolving oxide, helps solder joints (re)flow more easily, with less thermal delta and duration of exposure, meaning less risk of thermal degredation or damage of whatever else is exposed to the applied heat.
Somehow I feel so relieve when the ipad is working. It's a very technical issue and need to be handled profesionally. This man walks the talk and prove he is reliable, even as a viewer I highly recommend his service...Great Job!..👍👍💪💪💪
Thank you for your channel and knowledge, I've done so many repairs like these where I had to give up because I could either not find why the repair didn't fix the issue or because I didn't know what values a component was supposed to have
The big problem is when you don't have the schematic and dont have another tablet to compare and check the value of the components... Great Work! Thanks from RJ Brazil
i found you today and this is first video, and i saw it till the end, i have one thing to say very realistic video and very skilled man thanks for sharing 👍
I prefer using flux every chance I can, makes job easier and cleaner job. It's a lot easier to rip pads off without flux, because flux lowers melting point of solder, making it flow and release easier. It also transfers the heat more evenly.
Your way of repairing devices seems so much easy so that it gives most of the viewers (over)confident to do such repairs by themselves, ending up , creating mess to their devices.Good work though.
One of my first mentors (who quickly became an ex-mentor) told me to NOT buy a tub of flux. He said that there is plenty of flux in the solder but guess what he does? He just puts together through hole kits. I use extra flux for ALL kinds of purposes. And I find the cleanup afterwards to be less of a chore than not using flux at all.
Good job like always. Maybe a good sign that the second filter was also blown is that the black cover was also burned at that filter which indicated a blown component.
I have zero experience with soldering so this might be a stupid question but how are you using the hot air gun to remove a component but it isn't causing any of the other components to loosen that are around it? You're not using any tape to protect the other components so what's making them not melt off?
I thoroughly enjoy your great videos. I have almost exact job to do. One of fpc connector on the flex cable from the lcd has to be replaced but I have another lcd (smashed screen but fpc look good ) I’ll check the board for any damage on backlight and touch. Thank you.
You can use low melting point solder adding it to the pins makes taking the fpc very easily. But when back onto board use leaded solder low to medium air and 220 degrees. I good air gun is worth is weight in gold. I had too many issues using a cheap air gun less than 70 dollars. So I bought a unit $ more that 500.

It's to repair an IPAD tablet especially the SMD burnt PARTS, you can't recognize it if it's a filter capacitor or a resistor because it is burnt..It's all color black. But for you I saw it's very easy to distinguish the burnt PARTS.
Please mention heat at all different soldering and de soldering specially when you soldered FPC connector i was really curious to know the temperature, awesome work though
Love the detication dude. Btw about those replacement filter caps....how do you determine the value of those? There is no value marking on the original blown part.
I am very thankful for the great skills and knowledge you are sharing. You have inspired me to buy some equipment and see what I can fix. Thanks a million.
You got this one wrong, when he removed the old broken connector, he cleaned the pads and replace it with low melting solder (you can buy this at other shop or his online shop). Low melting solder can melt below the connector's plastic melting point. This will avoid the burning. You are probably using high melting solder that requires similar temperature as the plastic's melting point, hence the burn.
I have an iphone 7 which sometimes catches sim and rest of the time doesn’t show any sim card. The sim jack looks good so can it be a problem of baseband ic as imei also disappears randomly??

What temperature did you use in the heat gun and the connector plastic didn't melt?
What kind of solder do you like to use ?
What is the temperatura used for solder the conector without burning?
Best Regards.
When you're flexing a soldered down wire to break it off are you not worried the force will rip up parts or traces?
Hi just want to know that which thermal camera are you using?
Where I can buy the components like resister and key part of other mobile models?
What's the temperature and air flow speed you use when flowing the fpc back onto the board? Mine always melt and it's never good

Using Flux is like solder under water it will prevent component from overheating and makes solder to cold faster
How does the old connector has been melted but the new one didn’t? Did you reduce the temperature when soldering the new one?
hello sir, when installing the LCD connector, what size was the temperature and wind used in the hot air?

can i know the proper air temp for removing filter and capacitors?
7:59 when i try this the plastical of the connecter burn ....
Try holding the air farther back to warm it more evenly
