    These wolves seem more friendly then any of the other sanctuary footage I have ever seen. I wonder if they were all raised from cubs.

      they were, and they see so many ppl, even when they were pups so they are use to big crowds. (oh and canine babys are called 'pups', feline babys are called 'cubs' c: ) (:

      They do see everyone equally, but I do agree with you when it comes to the love. Animals are wild, and you have to never forget that. There is a reason why there are laws against having pet tigers and gorillas without permits and the right captivities.

    AMAZING!!! i owned a wolf-hybrid and she was so sweet. She loved snuggles and taking her share of the bed. She was passionate about her food bowl, though! She gave her "growly teeth" if you tried to touch it, but it was all show. She was gentle with our roaming bunny. She loved to sit outside in the cold, in Florida, and HOWL. She was a love. She passed away from old age. I still carry my love for wolves with me every day. I can't wait to visit this place!

      Canis lupus familiaris - domestic dog has nothing to do with Gray wolves as we know them now. However there are some "dogs" which have their genes. Like Czechoslovakian wolfdog, Saarlos wolfdog or just wolfdogs known from USA. But gray wolves and domestic dogs have the same "ancestors". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_of_the_wolf#Canis_chihliensis (yes, it is legit)

      +Maroš Gecik don't, actually. it's a terrible idea; they're not pets. This is why I hate these videos, because people see animals being affectionate and assume that's all to them. Why do you think there's so many wolf and wolfdog rescues in the first place? People like y'all.

    • @Mikaaa666
      @Mikaaa666 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +akitaken These videos are not really to blame, these show that people are not all greedy motherfuckers and some care about the wild life that we (humans) destroy. It's way better than keeping them in cages. I mean, if someone thinks that wild animals should be pets - they're stupid and should be punched in their stupid faces.
      Well... that's at least my opinion (sorry if my English is bad).

    Look like dogs to me. Don't know why some of you get so technical. Loosen up and enjoy what life offers. They seem tame and just super friendly. They may be wolves, but they seem so much like dogs in many ways.

    That's crazy people play with wolves. I seen tiger's, lion's, but never wolves. I guess you can tame wild animals, but still it's good to. e careful with them. An animal trainer was recently killed at a zoo awhile ago.

    • @jonathan
      @jonathan  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Jedi Master 2-Cool Yeah these ones were all pretty chilled. A lot of times, animals are attacked when they're in bad conditions like small cages or when they're not fed properly. Luckily these one don't have any of those problems. But yes, there is always at least SOME risk when interacting with any wild animal

    • @jedimaster2cool
      @jedimaster2cool 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jon Watson That's why personally i don't try to play with wild animals, where i live there's this place where the trainers play with Lions, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Coyotes, Foxes, Mountain Lions, Wolfs, and even a Bear. But I personally don't feel comfortable around them. I don't mind those that are but me personally I don't associate with them lol.

      Tigers are even more primal than wolves. Tigers are the only species that can truly never be 100% tamed because they are so primitive and primal. Even when tamed from birth, there has been at least 1 case where the tiger turned on the human.

      My friend lives in the country and he has a pack of wolves as pets, sometimes when I'm at his house we get to feed them like, raw meat, and they have this little shack thing where the whole pack can sleep and huddle together and stuff, and they'll let humans in like we're family and will let us pet them and stuff! We get inside the little shack with them and we huddle together and pet each other and it's so cool! I could stay in there forever!

    • @hectichive889
      @hectichive889 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're surprised about wolves being tamed? They're a primitive cousin of the dog so they're easier to understand their nature and to tame since prehistoric mankind has even tamed prehistoric wolves already!

      They can, it's just that most people don't live directly in their territory. It's like sharks don't eat people, sure it's not a normal part of their diet because humans don't live in the sea. But we swim there or walk there. Eventually you will be prey to something because the earth doesn't just forgive you because you are human. Also vegetarian animals like deer, cows horses, rodent etc can eat meat too, they just aren't built for it so normally they don't. Try typing in cow eats a bird and I promise you will find a video showing a cow doing so. It's not normal is NOT the same as not natural.

      They can but it depends on the dog. Also there are some little dogs that go for your ankle can cause damage too. :)

      Biologically, a wolf and a dog are more or less the same animal. Of course dogs have been domesticated over thousands of years but they are still very close to the shared ancestor of both wolves and dogs. Wolves are actually quite 'flighty' animals. There is a theory that low flight distance was the key evolutionary trait that led to some wolf ancestors to develop a relationship with humans. You wouldn't want a wolf in your home and they are far less predictable than dogs which have been bred to be biddable and subservient to humans. But remember that these are not wild wolves. Wild wolves would probably run at the first sight of humans. These wolves have clearly been introduced to humans from a very young age and are comfortable around us.

    It's amazing to see the trust between these wolves and their caretakers (note: not owners, wolves can never be pets). I'd imagine it's next to impossible to build such trust in the wild, where wolves need to be on constant alert to stay alive and keep themselves fed. Here, the pack has ample supply of food provided by the caretakers, and has large enough area to freely roam on their own, and was probably raised in an environment with a lot of human interactions. This controlled environment is probably why such bond with humans can exist in the first place.

    I actually went there in October of 2013! I had a great time learning more and just being with the wolves there. The wolves may look take, but they are still wild. They've only gotten used to being around people. Even before the visit, wolves were my favorite animal. It got me wanting to volunteer to help these wonderful animals, and I hope someday I may get the chance.
