Get a camping micro water filter, that allows gravity feed through tubing, then you can use the water from the lake for drinking . Pump to fill one jug , it will flow through the filter and fill another jug with safe water.

Maybe the barge is getting water from condensation. I have a 20’ metal shipping container and with big temperature fluctuations it was literally raining inside a sealed metal container. The same could be happening with yours. Also, I would suggest getting a 360° game trail camera. You wouldn’t believe the animals we have caught on our camera just in our backyard…cougars, bears, deer, rabbits you name it. All the best 😊

We are still editing for the 2nd season but filming for the 3rd and we go live every Thursday night at 7pm CST to keep in touch with our subscribers, unfortunately that would be 3am for you. My daughter is in London so I'm well acquainted with the UK time difference. 🤣 We love that you are binging on our story... it's lots of fun and there is so much more to come. We haven't seen wild animals on the island but we have found what appear to be but moose bones and across from us on the shore we have been told there are grizzlies, black bear, moose, deer etc. They seem to leave the island alone for some reason. well you need a pump more than just a pump put two small bills pumps in your pontoons yeah you have a leak but you know I was you guys I get the good colsecell foam and actually you could stick it in your pontoons it would give you more floatation
Guys, I just found your videos, watched the one where you guys first looked at the old cabins, and now this one, your husband claimed he got bitten by bugs, do this to ward off those nasty critters, get yourself a big bottle of Brewers yeast tablets and start taking them daily, Brewers yeast is not only good for you but it puts out a scent in the skin that bugs can't stand, it will really help, also animals love them like candy, give them a couple a day and no fleas ticks or mange, I got rid of my dogs full blown mange in a matter of weeks feeding him Brewers yeast tabs, and fed them to my cats too, they ate them like candy, no fleas no mange no nuthin except full healthy coats of fur, research this and try it, I swear by Brewers yeast, and its cheap too. I get the big 100 count bottles. hope it works for you. Also keeps the bees away lol. I will be following your progress now and have subscribed, love to see you guys doing this. when is floor going in? Hang some pictures, curtains, she will feel better. Flooring is always last. I was working construction of a stadium. The owners insisted on installing the teams logo in the entryway in terrazzo... 2 years before the building was to open. We had to walk , drag materials, equipment 1.5K all the way around so we wouldn't touch it. Several companies had major issues due to lost productivity. They put carpet and ceiling tile in before plumbing, electrical was done... nightmare. Don't cave in brother.

I mean... we are entirely self-reliant for our water and electricity and don't even have a kitchen in our cabin. We harness the energy from the sun. Every single structure on the island and all systems have been built by one man (Ryan). We have never pretended that we won't be using every possible modern convenience that we can eventually. We love being out here away from the hustle and bustle. We are perhaps not your typically perceived 'Homesteader' but we are just doing 'us'.
