Oh my goodness, yes that was my job when I was little, LoL, mama would say, keep stirring..., Now I'm 56, and that was a blessing for your mother in law to share her, master cooking skills...this is what we lack as a culture, the ability to take in our elders lessons...I truly thank you for sharing...🙏💯

Love this! Cooking with your elders is something we everyone should be doing. Their knowledge can never replaced. Once they’re gone, all this knowledge is gone. I lost my mom 20 years ago and I wish so much that I had done more cooking with her in the kitchen. Thank goodness I learned to cook a few of her dishes because she didn’t use a recipe. It was just a little of this and a dash of that! Nobody can cook like our own mamas did!!! Thanks for sharing this and learn all you can while she’s still here and give her a big hug from me! I just love our elders, they’re so precious!❤

There is a process knowing as tempering where if you need to add egg or egg yolk to a hot mixture you can take a small amount of the hot mixture and wisk the egg/egg yolk as you add the hot mixture. Then pour it to the pot once you finish mixing.
