What is up guys. I build custom Harley Davidson audio systems in NJ. I haven’t built a car since an alpine 6 cube. It’s thanks to you guys that I am building my Vette. I went with a Sony 7000 morel Maximus 6x9s in door, and 6.5 in the back. DSP, and 800 watt amp. I have a RTA, as I use it to tune bikes, and I build amp racks like Dean. So thanks for all the help. Keep it going.
Fantastic video and as always a great set up! Enjoy those amps and let us know how else we can help! Keep an eye out for more cool AudioControl stuff very soon.
Absolutely love your videos. And audio control for the win for always putting every thing on one side of the amp. Sometimes I need more power for the application, but if I can power everything sufficiently, audio control gets used.
That's a pretty sweet setup. I really like having a test bench like that to try different stuff. Great show, love it and watch you guys every episode. keep them coming please it's my daily fix to sit down and watch this show in staying up-to-date with the new technology and innovative ways of doing things you guys do. So yeah thanks again Dean and Fernando!
This is proof that you guys care about every customers car, from cheap Hyundai's all the way to expensive six-figure cars. How? By the way you are installing these components in Fernando's car. You do the same type of install, from wire routing, to amp rack mounting, exactly the same. You aren't doing "special" things to his car. Its all the same. You care about your customers cars like they're your own cars. Good job!!
at 18:16 - 18:30, I'm amazed at the lack of sound deadener and other audio enhancement/noise reducing products affixed to the rear quarter panels (and other metal parts) where the rear speakers are mounted. That entire panel appears void of deadener/CCF/MLV/rings, etc and this is supposed to be a test car; I'm perplexed as you use these products on customer cars, but not your own personal/test car...Will you (Fernando) put these products on those panels...you know, to remove resonance/vibration and help the speaker(s) perform better?
The good thing about removing the factory radio is the dvd/nav system stays and is fully functional. The aftermarket radio bezel is quite expensive though and can be a pain to work with, but well worth it though
My truck has 4 factory speaker. Although I changed my radio out because I hate CD players. That's my fault because I throw them around then they get scratched.Bought a 80 dollar radio at part store that played flash drives. People ask me what amp I am running. I say I don't have an amp ,, just a 50 watt Radio and factory speakers. People I know go in it and look. I find it unusual.Probably because I never bought an amplifier for a vehicle .Yea, you guys seem to know your stuff. Enjoy watching. Keep it up
I want 2-12's & a powerful amp in my trunk but, I want to keep the weight down! I have a shallow box & a bigger box but, The shallow box did not sound good & my bigger box, the one speaker terminal's plastic ripped threw the box & it now has a hole in the box! I always travel with tools just in case but the weight of both a system & tools is to much & to hard on passenger cars!!! wears out the suspension very quick! What do you recommend as far as a powerful low cost sub amp? I currently have a Pyramid America PB 918, also, Belva (supposedly) 200 watt amp, along with a 4 channel amp that I have not seen in a while, I will have to look 4 it!.....I really like your Milwaukee m12 fuel powered die grinder! I need one of those!!! I found myself & a friend, Cutting threw the rear control arm bolt on a 07 Pontiac G5 with a saw zall-WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I needed a compact saw zall like one that milwaukee makes. Their12v hackzall recipricating saw, unless they have a more powerful one! I do not recommend cutting out a rear lower control arm bolt without one & alot of metal blades!!! 30-50 metal blades to be exact!!! A oxyacetylene torch would have been nice to!
I meed your help Dean you are awesome. I have 04 mercedes e320 with harmon kardon MOST system i am doing away with most system how to wire the speakers to headunit
Ever think about adding a circuit breaker or disconnect switch to the setup? More just for the convenience of disconnecting 12v power. Still use a fuse for the main protection though.
I was thinking about doing it in my car so you don’t have to pull the battery terminal off every time you change wiring. You can flick a switch and then nothing’s hot on the rack
This is information you guys gave, you informed me on one of your videos and noted that AudioControl amplifiers sound great with a 4 ohms load for your mids and highs speakers, and you mentioned that the sound quality degrades at 2 ohms, that fixed my issue, I was trying to get the most power out of my LC4.800 at 2 ohms, but the SQ was horrific. Now my question is, on a bass amp like the LC1.1500 will the quality degrade if dropped to 2 ohm load?
Hello, D.J. here, I am new-ish to your channel, just a week or 2 subscribed to your channel! I use to be big into car audio back in the late 90's, early 2000's however, I always saved a specific amount out of every paycheck & because of that, I couldn't always get what I wanted however, I had 2 kicker zr-240 (i believe with the 60-herts chip, could of been the 80 herts?) anyways, two kicker zr-240 running 1 amp per subwoofer onto 2 Rockford Fosgate HE-2-12" SUBWOOFERS BUT, THEN I PURCHASED 2 Rockford Fosgate HX2 -12's & HAD A KICKER ZR240 ON EACH OF THE 2 HX2's plus a Cadence Qxr-7volt line driver w/built in crossover, 1-FAROD Capasitor & an extra 1,000 cold crank amp battery in the trunk & a second under the hood. INSIDE A 92 Grand-Am...That system sounded Great & I only ever had one issue when my cadence qxr-7 got loose & grounded out & when it stopped working, I STOPPED PLAYING THE SYSTEM UNTIL I REPLACED IT! I also ran all the remote wire's via a relay just in case, in case of any surge...I still to this day have not been able to match that system! I just purchased a 2007 Pontiac G5 & I kind of like the factory radio but, It doesn't have bluetooth & many other things! I considered keeping it & running one of those adaptors from the factory speaker wire & convert to rca to run into an amp but, I also have a 2-din 4G wifi cd/dvd player, navigation & 2 chnl front & rear camera. I went online & picked a wire harness & dash kit & when it arrived, it looked like it would work until I looked at the pin out & saw pins going into blank hole's which made me question every other pin! Since I do not know what every wire is within the factory harness, I then ordered a metra 95-3302 dash kit & metra LC GMRC-LAN-03 wiring interface- due to financial restraints. 1st, my 2-din radio seems oversized (bigger then 3 & 13/16ths X 6 & 13/16ths. The cage on my 2-din radio measures about 4x7 & it has about a 7&1/4 screen, directly past the cage, there is a plastic ring (for lack of a better word, which wraps around the entire cage & is about a 16th thick) The screen measures about 7 & 1/4" Will the cheaper Metra LC GMRC-LAN-03 INTERFACE WORK PROPERLY & WILL THE METRA 95-3302 FIT PROPERLY? I ordered it from crutchfield & then found it a bit cheaper! ($10-16 DOLLARS CHEAPER) But, It said on crutchfield's website, 2 day shipping to O.H. SO, I figured heck with it, maybe it will arrive sooner? My Pontiac g5 has had an incident in its past & took a smidge of slight damage to the front & the radiator has a very slight mark on it & you can see that the front clip & fender & hood has been replaced though, I PLAN ON REDOING IT & EITHER COLOR MATCHING IT OR HAVING THE PARTS OR CAR REPAINTED EVENTUALLY! (previous owner color matched the front clip but, not the hood, its in black primer & does not look the best! My G5 does not have factory amplification nor on-star! so, That is why I am leaning towards the cheaper interface. In your opinion, Will it work? the first dash kit & wiring harness did not work nor fit properly so, I do not want to be burnt twice!
It's nice to have your boss working on your car, i work an a radio shop and the owner won't even wants to sell me nothing i have to get it somewhere else. I wish i can have a boss like Dave. Great video. Where can i get the dash kit for a 2007 infinity g35 and the wire harnesses as well with a bose system.
I have a problem I have a all alpine system head unit speakers and 2 amps All I did was screw down my sub box so it would not vibrate when I was done when I turn up my haed unit padt 15 my 5 channel shuts off If I cold rebout the system it works ok aslong as I stay below 15 on the head unit
Hey thanks for the post IT turns out when I screwed down my box I hit one of the speaker wires on the speed loom they used when I removed the screws everything was great
I want too change sub in my 2002 audi t t. To 8" shallow mount. Using speaker wire line out to control ssl amp dropping 4 ohm to 2 ohms. Can this work? Bose set up.
That was cool of AudioControl to send you guys those amps! I'm going to buy one of the 4 channel and the mono to do my system with! I love the small footprint and the fact that i can have the built in audiocontrol Hi Low Converter!!
Good video.... What I would like to know is what you would say the audio control amps sound like. I heard one on a display and it sounded pretty nice. I felt it was a little warmer than my JL amps. Its always tough to tell since it's setup in some unknown way going through God knows what rats nest of wires and switches behind the board. I'm keepsong my eye on the audio control amps....
Thinking one of those acm 300.1 would be an easy install to add a sub to a 2019 mustang premium. (Non B/O) Do you think you could grab outputs from the rear deck speakers to make the install simple?
You use overlap because music is often not recorded at 0db (unless your playing test tones). A lot of the edited music bassheads listen to is -5db, so you would use the -5db track on a dd-1 OR add +5db of overlap on the dd-1+ (they are the same setting. So you are matching your overlap to the music, otherwise if you play it at 0db it is quieter than intended.
I will pull a 4 gauge power wire to my trunk for a 5 channel amp. I would like to use that same power source to run my DSP. Are you aware of a simple distribution block that would accommodate both the 4 gauge and a small ~16 gauge lead for the DSP? How do you keep handle this challenge while keeping things neat and simple?
What happened to that Phoenix Gold amp Fernando was in love with? I looked on their website and they don't have it anymore. Seems like they had just came out with it.
I just bought the ACM 1-300 and I want to tap into my rear speakers in order to keep my factory head unit but I'm not sure which high level input plug to use. I see a few online but not sure which ones will work with the ACM 1-300. Can anyone recommend a harness that works for my amp?
Morning fellas!! So are foam fast rings make a big difference in sound? Is it worth it? I have 2003 f150 supercrew with kicker 6x8. Think I will notice more bass?
Up To Bat Entertainment good product as well the only issue I have heard is sound skin rings are not as tall as fast rings which means they cannot be trimmed for a better fit. I like the fast rings only because they can be trimmed and then rested on the inside of the door panel to direct sound waves into the cabin with no back wave.
My distributor was telling me that audio control was trying to get our of the car audio business and could be making an exit as soon as 2-4 years from now. Apparently the contract for car audio is running out and they don't want to renew. Have you heard anything about this?
hey guys i love your videos and i have a question and i hope you can help me... i have a bmw 525i and i added a bluetooth dongle due to the fact that my model of car does not come with bluetooth or aux input.. while having bluetooth is great i lost a good deal of volume and i know thats normal but is there anything i can do in order to get more volumw while using the bluetooth dongle? i would appreciate any help you guys can offer
hello guys!!! I'd like to start a project on my Subaru legacy 03, but I need your advice, so I'm looking for a pair of component speaker system, an amplifier and everything that I need. I have a kicker woofer 10"". thanks for your kind assistance, regards from Miami Florida.
I have a problem with my setup I’m using high level output from the head unit converter and I’m just not liking how it sounds when I turn the volume I see decline in bass and my headlights dime
I have a fairly involved question. If anyone can answer it I would apprecite it to no end. I have a Masssive NX4 amplifier. Connected to it I have a DB Drive P3 8K set with its own passive crossover. These are set to the rear channels. I also have a set of Crescendo STS-1 tweeters set in the front channels. They as well have their own passive crossover. Now. Is it necessary to set any of the frequency and high pass filters? Do i use it in full range or high pass? And if the P3 8K are 175 wrms, being that the tweeter and midbass are wired together don't they share that power? I have no idea what the rms of the DB drive tweeters are. The manual doesn't say nor the web site.
Hello Dean and Fernando how's it goin? I've been watching religiously for a few months (several videos a night) and I have a question. I have an 06 Silverado crew cab with 48k miles...I bought a Kenwood ddx9904s to install but I don't know if I really need the rp5, I mean is it worth having OnStar? I don't even know if it works. It does have Bose and would love the 7" Kenwoods all around with some 12s or 10s behind the rear seats...I would like to pick your brain if possible bc I honestly don't trust local people bc Stevie Wonder does their installs hahaha jk sorry Stevie I apologize...help plz
OMG! Clean your car People! Nothing worst than working around junk. I used to charge extra if you didn't clean your car. But I always told them when they made their appointments.
Even your not awesome install looks way professional. Wish Audio Control had amps that were more like the other mfgs out there, and by that I mean 75x4 or 100x4 at 4ohm and like a 500 2 ohm rating for the sub.
Mike Zupancic we actually have more power in our LC series amps. 125w @ 4 ohm, 200w @2 ohm rms power on multi channel amps. We offer a 4 channel and a 6 channel. We also have the LC-1.800 mono amp and the soon to be released LC-1.1500.
That is the issue I am having. You go from 50 watts to 125 watts with the 4 ohm amp ratings. I have all 6.5 speakers in my car and the majority of replacements are either rated for less than 50 or in the neighborhood of 90. I have Morel speaker replacements which are either 90 or 100 and so to me 125 watts per channel is really pushing the limits where the 50 watts per channel is only supplying half the capable power handling. Other manufacturers out there have a multitude of amps that will supply (supposedly) between 75-100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. For this reason I had figured that I would not be using an AC amp, but rather something like an LCQ-1 with another brand amplifier.
Also, the sub I have to be installed is 500 watts rms rated (Kicker Comp R) and the others I have been looking at are also 500 watts rms rated (JL 12w3, 12W6, and Licker LS series at 600w)
erick linares I'm sure it would. I'm running the 500 on a single 15 doing a helluva job. Check out BigD's dyno test here; th-cam.com/video/dSNUujbayF4/w-d-xo.html
I used to do the same thing back in the '90s for the same reasons, to check/test components/amps whatever and quickly connect everything. But Radio Shack was in business. I enjoy your vids. Everyone has his/her own approach. Seems like Dean studied design and then ended up in car audio and liked it/worked out for him. Is this even remotely correct?
Well don't go spending a Friday paycheck on it. Save up for it. It's worth it. I drove around with two of the factory speakers blown, playing from stock made in Mexico Sport Trac radio for 4 years. When i finally saved enough for a $1200 system, it was an awesome sound. Well worth the money. Well worth it.
Not sure I like that setup because the amp/wiring setup makes the trunk basically unusable. Why not just slap both of those tiny amps under one seat? leaving the trunk free and clear.
You guys are some of the best installers that I've seen on TH-cam
Hello my name is artie. How can I get in touch so I can get some audio work 347 437-6250
Some of? They the best!
What is up guys. I build custom Harley Davidson audio systems in NJ. I haven’t built a car since an alpine 6 cube. It’s thanks to you guys that I am building my Vette. First time seeing these guys on youtube. Some of the best installers i have ever seen.
Throughly enjjoyed the show Dean and Ferna!
Big up to Audio Control for those blinking light that tells you why the amp is in protect.
Nice results, not bad at all for smaller amps. I enjoy watching your videos, top notch installers! I’ve learned a lot from you guys.
Fantastic video and as always a great set up! Enjoy those amps and let us know how else we can help! Keep an eye out for more cool AudioControl stuff very soon.
Thanks guys, I'm going to buy one of the 4 channel ones and try it out in my new car!
I love the new audio control amps they are high quality. They sound really good.the 1200.1 is a beast.
This may be my new favorite segment. As always, love the videos and what you guys do. Don’t get too hot, October is a ways off still.
Absolutely love your videos. And audio control for the win for always putting every thing on one side of the amp. Sometimes I need more power for the application, but if I can power everything sufficiently, audio control gets used.

one of the best hands on explaining videos on youtube!!! get abox that fits in the trunk so the subs can face out...

The good thing about removing the factory radio is the dvd/nav system stays and is fully functional. The aftermarket radio bezel is quite expensive though and can be a pain to work with, but well worth it though
When stacking those two amps they actually make a 1 piece cover plate that bolts to both to make one solid looking amp.
Components are my favorite for a rear tweeter soundstage.
Coax/Triaxial will never be in ANY car of mine or a build.
2 highly skilled individuals
My truck has 4 factory speaker. Although I changed my radio out because I hate CD players. 2003 Infin FX35 Stock Bose. Plan on installing DM-608. Do I tap into the speaker inputs before the Bose amplifier or after?
It's nice to have your boss working on your car, i work an a radio shop and the owner won't even wants to sell me nothing i have to get it somewhere else. I wish i can have a boss like Dave. Great video. Where can i get the dash kit for a 2007 infinity g35 and the wire harnesses as well with a bose system.
So, the outputs would be considered in parallel in regard to calculate impedance? On the monoblock amp that is.
Can’t find the Phoenix Gold vid. I’m late to the party

Hey thanks for the post IT turns out when I screwed down my box I hit one of the speaker wires on the speed loom they used when I removed the screws everything was great
Do you guys have a videos on a Ford Raptor full system install? Y’all are awesome!!
I want too change sub in my 2002 audi t t. To 8" shallow mount. Using speaker wire line out to control ssl amp dropping 4 ohm to 2 ohms. Can this work?
Bose set up.
Guys, Try the PS8PRO. You'll be totally impressed.
Where are y’all located in Florida?
Just thinking is the 18 gauge of the speed wire going to be too thin for the feed to the front speakers?
That was cool of AudioControl to send you guys those amps! I'm going to buy one of the 4 channel and the mono to do my system with! I love the small footprint and the fact that i can have the built in audiocontrol Hi Low Converter!!
Curious to see the results of these audio control products. Kinda small but waiting to hear them lol.
What happens when you switch out equipment will you be selling the this equipment at a discount $?
What type of plastic do you use for the amp rack? What about the feet on the amp rack?
Very cool stuff!!
Why did you not fuse the power wire where it was reduced from 4 to 8 gauge? Isn't that asking for a fire?
Great job
Hey guys do you have any suggestions for removing speakers from a 1996 buick road master it will well appreciated
Quiuvole Fernando you have a CHINGON (PATRON)

Hey fellas ....I don't know I may be late but any updates on Fernando's build??
Yes next week
Five Star Car Stereo thank you..
He's of slim build
Quick question - What do you mean @ 23:26 to set it at -5 at a 100hz and then -10 at 40hz?
You use overlap because music is often not recorded at 0db (unless your playing test tones). Mine sounds so clear at volume because I use alpine mylar titainium 5 1/4
What happened to that Phoenix Gold amp Fernando was in love with? I looked on their website and they don't have it anymore. Seems like they had just came out with it.
Amp wasn't even available for a whole year. I wanted one and Phoenix Gold had an all new line of amps, to me not worth getting.
What the heck is an RC input, never heard of it?
U need to come to ny and install we need u
I just bought the ACM 1-300 and I want to tap into my rear speakers in order to keep my factory head unit but I'm not sure which high level input plug to use. I see a few online but not sure which ones will work with the ACM 1-300. Can anyone recommend a harness that works for my amp?
when my system was working at its max I could hear it very clear thanks to my speakers , Mylar titanium . Do I Really need a dsp
When will the Bluetooth adapter for the option port for Audiocontrol's dsp's be out ?
Instantly hit the like button as always lol💪💪😅💯😎
*what u think of 1400nex? What double din do u recommend for 2012 tahoe with carplay*
Morning fellas!! So are foam fast rings make a big difference in sound? Is it worth it? I have 2003 f150 supercrew with kicker 6x8. Think I will notice more bass?
Jarred Monaco fast rings are worth it for sure. You will notice an all around improvement in sound and response.
Chris Ferchau thanks man. I appreciate the response. I’ve never heard a car or truck with and without fast rings. Gonna have to give it a try
Jarred Monaco try SoundSkins rings they are a very good product and cheaper... 🏄🏽♀️🌊
Why can't you guys live in Houston? I am truly considering driving to Florida on my next trip so I can get you guys to upgrade my car.
Turtles Run I live in Ohio I'm thinking about driving there too
There’s good people local to you too
My distributor was telling me that audio control was trying to get our of the car audio business and could be making an exit as soon as 2-4 years from now. Apparently the contract for car audio is running out and they don't want to renew. Have you heard anything about this?
How many Hz did you do the first test with? Also, why run a ground wire all the way thru the car?
Probably 1k
hey guys i love your videos and i have a question and i hope you can help me... i have a bmw 525i and i added a bluetooth dongle due to the fact that my model of car does not come with bluetooth or aux input.. while having bluetooth is great i lost a good deal of volume and i know thats normal but is there anything i can do in order to get more volumw while using the bluetooth dongle? i would appreciate any help you guys can offer
hello guys!!! I'd like to start a project on my Subaru legacy 03, but I need your advice, so I'm looking for a pair of component speaker system, an amplifier and everything that I need. I have a kicker woofer 10"". thanks for your kind assistance, regards from Miami Florida.
I have a problem with my setup I’m using high level output from the head unit converter and I’m just not liking how it sounds when I turn the volume I see decline in bass and my headlights dime
julio bello Some info on your alternator, amp and other accessories in the car?
I’m sure someone will help you.
jeez D you straight clownin' on Fernando's deck...
You’re correct on both questions
Phoenix Gold? But Fernando 💕 Hertz!
I would just do the RP4 for sure. Give us a call if needed.
how far from San Antonio to clearwater
Love these strips . Use them and relays to turn on fans and amps and leds and and lol.
The "Fab Kitchen" Lmao
Man those are microscopic amps! Let's get them on the dyno tho
They will everything they say they will. Audiocontrol is a real company!
I can't find it Dean..
D my dude you look super slim. Its been a few months now and you look completely different. Are you sick?
HIV
Good stuff
Morning fellas!,
so I want to add 4 more speakers and a 5 channel amp to my truck
OMG! Clean your car People! Nothing worst than working around junk. I used to charge extra if you didn't clean your car. But I always told them when they made their appointments.
Thumbs up
I did a fast ,dropped a butt ton of weight and took a month, but you.... 1 day ? Did you eat diet gummy bears
How long did you fast? Dean does look a lot slimmer.
It's the toe shoes bro, like forsure
Side by side Fernando and beast boy from teen Titans go lol 👍🤘
Hello i nead help. Do you thing a 1200 watts kicker amp is good for my 2 12" jl audio w6v3 ???
sure why not
Im goint to buy one let see how it works
I like my kicker speakers but on the budget amp side you might want to look at the Rockford prime r1200-1d.
Cyber Trucker Road Show tanks so that amp is goint to be good for my sups ??
erick linares I'm sure it would. I'm running the 500 on a single 15 doing a helluva job.
Check out BigD's dyno test here; th-cam.com/video/dSNUujbayF4/w-d-xo.html
So do I need an dsp
Not to be rude man but are u working out? Looks like you dropped a little weight.💪😤
$300 per amp umm pass on that . lol love you guys still but some of the stuff is out of control for what they cost
Fernando has a new driver lol after all is done did Fernando take you to lunch? Lol
Maybe breakfast? 😜
Omg...detail that engine bay
Not sure I like that setup because the amp/wiring setup makes the trunk basically unusable. Why not just slap both of those tiny amps under one seat? leaving the trunk free and clear.
Because they will be testing different products and amps so they can't do a hard install like you are suggesting.
obviously you missed the whole point about the amp lab.
Did you even watch the video?
It's too use over and over again
Listening is a fundamental thing in life comprehending on the other hand is todays generation just fails
